8 / 10.0 - Mortal Kombat X
Apr 30, 2015

Mortal Kombat X is a must buy for diehard fans and aspiring fighters alike. While the story mode falls a bit short, it's more than made up for with the character variations, solid online servers and an ever changing Live Towers game mode.

5 / 10.0 - Son of Nor
Apr 28, 2015

Somewhere in Son of Nor, there's a great game desperately trying to get out, but ultimately the game suffers from poor execution and a lack of polish.

Inconsistent, confusing, with tedious conversations and over-hyped by the voice-acting cast, The Charnel House is quite a disappointment. Although it will creep you out, the trick to do so feel cheap and shallow.

7.5 / 10.0 - FIRE
Apr 27, 2015

Cartoonish and ingenious, Fire will make you crack up more than once. Although it falls short when trying to have some deep commentary, good fun and engaging puzzles make up for it.

7 / 10.0 - Dungeons 2
Apr 27, 2015

While Dungeons 2 is no hidden gem or game of the year candidate it certainly does have its quirks and fun gameplay to make it a worthy addition to one's game library.

If you already own Borderlands 2 and The Pre-Sequel!, you probably won't get much out of The Handsome Collection. Anyone else will likely have a great time with its hours and hours of addictive RPG gameplay.

6.5 / 10.0 - Paperbound
Apr 16, 2015

When first playing Paperbound you would be forgiven for thinking that the game is a simplistic take on the arena battle genre. Dig a little deeper though and you find a game with solid gameplay mechanics, that delivers rounds of fast paced fun whilst playing solo, or with friends. The quick, frenzied matches of Paperbound can offer hours of fun if the core gameplay appeals to you. It's undoubtedly a mix of solid mechanics that appear simple, but are fiendishly fun to play and can be deviously complex, it's just a shame that Paperbound ends up being paper thin.

9 / 10.0 - White Night
Apr 15, 2015

White Night stands as one of the best executed and most emotional games in the past few years, with outstanding game-character-player relation and a disturbing and frightening setting

Westerado is presented gorgeously and proves itself as a great sandbox game. There is tons of fun to be had here, especially in the quest to find your family's murderer. Remember the name 'Ostrich Banditos'; if they keep making titles as good as Westerado: Double Barreled, we will be in for some cracking games for years to come.

Only once in a blue moon do the stars align to bring us a game as well-crafted and meaningful as Please, Don't Touch Anything. Genuinely thoughtful, challenging, and beautiful; this may not look like a winner, and will definitely be the source of at least one puzzle-related headache, but give it the time of day, and it will grip you hard.

Starships would have worked much better as a smaller form release. As it is, it's an underwhelming tack-on to the already forgettable Beyond Earth that feels rushed and unoptimised. Had it been on a tablet things may have been much different.

8 / 10.0 - Convoy
Apr 8, 2015

Convoy is a fun and interesting game, only slightly let down by the uninspired graphics. Some nice nods to other sci-fi properties and great writing make you want to keep trying time and again.

8 / 10.0 - Ironcast
Apr 8, 2015

Ironcast is an esoteric little package with a lot to offer. The levels vary in difficulty and really do need you to keep your head in the game, despite it looking like a simplistic match-3. If match-3 and strategy are your thing, then this is a perfect game for you.

Although stripped down, the gameplay that is present is still generally competent and works with the given technology. However, the level design can only be referred to as disappointing, consisting of layouts that are generally dumbed-down when compared to its RTS companions. Passion was clearly put into this project, but the sum of its parts is better on paper than it was in execution.

8 / 10.0 - Oblitus
Mar 31, 2015

A charming platformer to match those in the indie game hall of fame blow-for-blow, Oblitus is an experience that mixes pleasure with pain and can be in parts both utterly punishing and wonderfully rewarding.

While highly derivative of The Legend of Zelda series, Oceanhorn is a beautiful and expertly-crafted game that will delight fans of the genre.

Though held back by brevity and lukewarm writing, Tormentum sports truly inspired art direction that always pleases the eye.

As we reach the halfway mark in this season it's hard to imagine the main characters surviving for a second one. With the story ramping up and the plot chugging along, all the pieces are moving into place. As ever, a fantastic homage to the franchise and an event better game in its own right.

The writing is pretty bad, but the puzzles are improved and it has great set pieces.
