GameGrin's Reviews
A good remaster of a great game. If you're into hacking demons and/or angels to bits, Zelda-style puzzles or both, Darksiders: Warmastered Edition will no doubt satisfy you.
It's a great achievement for a lone developer, but the choice of genre means that there are bigger games that do it better from larger companies. I can't say that you should rush out and buy it, but if you don't already have one of its competitors and want to help out a fledgling indie developer then it's worth a look.
Compile Heart has produced something that's more than a boob-based JRPG, with a very compelling story and a lot of interesting ideas.
If you're looking for a first-person shooter that is slightly different from the standard run of the mill FPS, Tannenberg is the way to go. Gameplay, the feel of the guns and map choice is all solid and makes for a great experience, but Tannenberg is held back by its lack of players and a mediocre class system.
Unless you're a huge, huge fan of the series, then I wouldn't go all out on this one, as the developers certainly didn't.
Barebones and no-frills it may be, but Tetris 99 is the best playing Tetris game in years and ultimately well worth downloading if you're a Nintendo Switch Online subscriber.
Left Alive falls short in many areas. What could of been an interesting title ends up being one you best avoid.
A worthy sequel to the DiRT Rally franchise, that updates, upgrades and uplifts most aspects of the original. Still a few little niggles that could be better, but hopefully the paid content strategy can be converted into ongoing support and updates for the title.
This game is a good first outing for Rightstick Studios with fun game play and tons of characters to choose from. It has its downsides, such as trying to figure out the sweet spot for the ball so that it doesn't skip over the hole. The controls are a little touchy.
A great addition to a genre that most don’t even bother developing for anymore in the shadow of the titans, defying that trend and standing out as a serious competitor.
Resident Evil 2 is a wonderful recreation of a believed original that, not only recaptures the glory of that game, but also improves upon it from a visual and gameplay standpoint. All in all, don't miss out on this one.
A basic action adventure game with a great style and a surprisingly engrossing story that is sadly backed up by repetitive gameplay that never evolves into something great.
There are good ideas here, but I wouldn't say the game is worth playing. Even if you are a survival game nut or seriously invested in long, drawn out stories, I'd probably recommend against grabbing this one.
A Mediocre vertical shooter with an unimpressive twist.
Riot: Civil Unrest has the look and feel a good RTS with entertaining yet challenging gameplay sections, but it all feels a bit weird when considering a) these sections are based on real events, and b) that the gameplay is fun and entertaining, but really only when you play as the protesters.
The amount of crafting and exploring so that you can craft, as well as a couple of minor issues, put a damper on an otherwise fantastic world, and fun game experience.
A competent if flawed JRPG that has a unique combat system undermined by poor localisation as well as just dull implementation. If you are after a Persona-like RPG you might get some enjoyment from this, but it's pretty generic fare.
Finally bringing something new to the LEGO "Franchise" titles, this might scratch that itch that previous games have been missing, with a lot fewer bugs to boot. It doesn't spell out what happens in the movie, but the ending is certainly a spoiler - just so you're forewarned.
A great visual novel, with intricate and interesting writing, a distinct and detailed artstyle and a catchy soundtrack. Well worth picking up for fans of the genre and newcomers alike
A hilarious 2.5D platformer which will have you wanting to play on due to the fantastic characters, solid storyline and first-rate voice acting. Flipping Death has a good mix of puzzles but is slightly let down by its somewhat forced platforming sections.
