8.5 / 10.0 - APE OUT
Mar 7, 2019

A striking abstract visual style soundtracked by a jazz freakout as improvisational as its gameplay, Ape Out glories in its primal rage for a wild ride. Give into its rhythm and bloodlust, and just go ape!

Some niggling problems, and a feeling of repetition keep it from being a fantastic game, but it's still a great one.

7.5 / 10.0 - TSIOQUE
Feb 22, 2019

Charming visuals, puzzle solving, medieval fantasy, there's literally nothing else you need in your life. I had a few frustrations here and there, but all in all TSIOQUE felt so worth my time; grab it for a rainy day, curl up on the sofa and prepare for a game best experienced first hand.

7.5 / 10.0 - Warriors Orochi 4
Feb 20, 2019

If you can look past the little annoyances like grinding and the frame rate, then Warrior Orochi 4, coupled with fun gameplay and pretty looking environments, makes for a rather welcome instalment into the franchise.

4 / 10.0 - Godly Corp

A pale imitation of what inspired it, with unpredictable, unwieldy mechanics and the appearance of low production value.

6.5 / 10.0 - Elli
Feb 18, 2019

A charming, pretty and well made puzzle platformer, Elli is unfortunately short, unambitious and derivative, while offering no incentive to replay it once it's over.

7 / 10.0 - X4: Foundations
Feb 17, 2019

An ambitious, complex sandbox space game that allows you to do almost anything from spacewalking to commanding a carrier with a fleet of ships onboard. A steep learning curve and an inconsistent interface mar an excellent return for Egosoft's flagship series.

I'd recommend giving Another Sight - Hodge's Cat a go if you're at all interested in Another Sight, purely on the game's aesthetics - in this case, it would definitely be worth 20 minutes of your time. Meanwhile, wishing Team Lunar the best of luck in the future, I'll be sticking Another Sight on the ‘maybe I'll play this someday' list.

8.5 / 10.0 - Scintillatron 4096
Feb 15, 2019

Scintillatron 4096 offers so much more than its dated retro stylings initially suggest. What begins as a somewhat clunky, simple twin-stick shooter, quickly blossoms into a strategic, thoughtful and immensely addictive little gem of a videogame.

An easy 8, maybe even 9/10 for long time fans, but for most people points will be lost in the story department. It's never too late to catch up, but DO NOT start here!

8.5 / 10.0 - Party Hard 2
Feb 6, 2019

This strategy based game focused around diabolical murder in order to get some much needed sleep is absolutely wonderful. Different characters, levels, and so much in each level to explore! Definitely worth a look, especially if you need to relieve some stress from frustrating neighbours who maybe party too much.

Technically superior to the previous episode, and a strong second entry to the Diaz boys' saga.

Unnecessary padding in the career mode and a few presentation blemishes detract somewhat from what is otherwise a more than competent and content-rich supercross sim, which caters to fans of all skill levels.

Roarr! The Adventures of Rampage Rex - Jurassic Edition doesn't have a lot going for it. Dull gameplay paired with technical problems and a hideous soundtrack makes this Switch title – despite the cheap price tag – one to avoid.

2.5 / 10.0 - Dude Cops

It's nothing more than a concept game for the developers, but I could have given it a higher score if it gave me a laugh. But it didn't. Just pretend you never even read this review and carry on with your life.

Echoes of the great 8 and 16 bit platformers of yore abound in this innovative and quirky indie game that starts with a weird premise and keeps building on it in style.
