90% - Ironcast
Sep 4, 2017

Ironcast is a must-have on the Nintendo Switch. Its gameplay is highly addictive, and it can have you playing for hours at a time before you realized how much time you've spent with the game. It's an excellent pick up and play release on Nintendo Switch thanks to the nature of this hybrid console, and one you should definitely check out today.

The wait was definitely worth it just to get the complete package in one go. It's a pretty big game, far bigger than the first on, so you can expect to spent a ton of hours hacking and slashing your way through this adventure. There's a Platinum trophy available at the end of the road for all of your trouble, so get to it! The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing II is a great sequel and a solid action game you should play today on PS4.

Leaving Lyndow is a good first effort from the team at Eastshade Studios. I had fun with this short adventure, and I look forward to seeing what they do with their next project thanks to everything they've learned with the development of Leaving Lyndow. If you're a fan of walking simulators and are looking for a short but solid one to play, this one should be good to scratch that it itch.

The visuals in Defenders of Ekron are great, making you stay on target during your quest. I really liked the game's cutscenes as well, not to mention the great writing. You can tell that a lot of love went into making Defenders of Ekron, so kudos to In Vitro Games for giving us a very entertaining and polished PS4 release. The game does stand up as a different type of shoot 'em up release, with fast-paced action mixed with exploration and some puzzle solving. All in all, I recommend Defenders of Ekron on PlayStation 4.

If you like twin-stick shooters with a big focus on gameplay and fast-paced action with enough of a challenge to keep you coming back for more, then you can't go wrong with Circuit Breakers. The game is available for less than five bucks, and it will certainly be a fun ride. This is an experience best served in short bursts at a time, before you dive into marathon sessions of frantic twin-stick action, so do keep that in mind!

Leap Of Fate is a fast-paced and challenging game on PS4 with some roguelike elements that will keep you on high alert. It has a solid level design, a nice cast of characters to unlock, and a good stream of content to play. Can you beat all of it in during your first run of the game? Are you that good?

I have had an absolute blast playing Thimbleweed Park. The characters are full of personality, and the game itself is full of character and is a very fun adventure. The puzzles are very satisfying in hard mode, and the pixel art is top notch. Thimbleweed Park is full of references to older games, with several lines of dialogue that will surely give you a chuckle. If you're a fan of point and click games, then this is a must-have.

Collar X Malice is an interesting game. I have played visual novels before, such as those from the Zero Escape and Danganronpa series, but this is the first one that I've played in the Otome genre in which the focus is on romance as the leading narrative. I liked the story, and I think the elements of mystery, deceit, and horror really make it shine. I ended up really liking the characters, and the story really paid off in the end as it kept me guesing from start to finish.

80% - Slime-san
Aug 18, 2017

Overall, Slime-San is a very challenging game that will test player's skills in full. You'll need a lot of patience for this one if you want to 100% it, but it's definitely worth the effort since this is a polished release with charming pixel graphics and more than enough content to offer for its asking price. I'm not a fan of hardcore platformers, but this one certainly showed me why some players really like them! I look forward to seeing what Fabraz and Headup Games do after this outstanding release!

Final Thoughts We liked The Tenth Line with its 16-bit art style, and interesting story. The battle battle system does take a bit of trial and error, but stick with the game since it's worth the effort. For $12.99, this is definitively a game worth playing!

Phantom Trigger is definitely not for casual gamers, as it is obvious from the fact that the game starts on the Hard difficulty setting. If you're up for the challenge, you'll find a great looking action game with an interesting story and more than enough content to justify your purchase. But if you're easily frustated, you should definitely avoid this one since you're going to hate it.

Masquerada: Songs and Shadows is a fun PS4 release with great graphics, a solid story and a ton of lore to learn. The battles are top-notch, and the customization for each of your party members thanks to the skill tree and how you can pretty try new things by asking for you points back to take a different approach for their abilities and boosts is very rewarding. Masquerada: Songs and Shadows is one you have to play on PlayStation 4. Tell your friends!

Infinite Minigolf is absolutely worth every cent from all the years (yes, years) of gameplay you can get out of it. There are thousands of courses up for grabs and every day the list just keeps getting bigger and bigger. The one thing that surprised me is that there is no Platinum trophy, which was weird for a game from Zen Studios, but it's certainly not a deal-breaker.
