BINGO for Nintendo Switch is a fun party game that is great in short bursts of gaming, but that might feel a bit too repetitive during longer sessions. If you're a fan of BINGO then this game is perfect for you since you could just play the Classic BINGO mode and get your money's worth, but if you're looking for something a bit deeper, then this game is not going to do it for you.
If you love brawlers and are looking for a fun one on Nintendo Switch, then you should get Gekido Kintaro's Revenge right now! Naps Team has done a great job in bringing this Game Boy Advance up to speed with new content, new modes and a chance to mix and match the resolutions and music offerings for an entertaining experience. Fans of old school beat ‘em ups are in for a treat!
The Adventure Pals is a lot of fun, with its great humor, colorful graphics and considerable amount of collectibles to find. You will take on several quests to level up and unlock new perks, which makes this a must-have indie release on PlayStation 4. Massive Monsters and Armor Games have done a great job with his one, and I look forward to seeing what their next game will bring to the table!
Penny-Punching Princess is a very fun and rewarding dungeon crawler with humor that is quite good. The game's design is impressive as well with charming and likeable characters that shine in their pixelated goodness. The game is worth every penny on Nintendo Switch, and it is a highly addictive release you should check out.
Enter the Gungeon is a solid action-packed release on Nintendo Switch that you should definitely add to your collection. Every run that you do will feel a bit different, and the more you play the more enemies you'll run into, learning about their movement and attack patterns so that you can make the most of subsequent runs – same goes for the weapons and items you can find or purchase.
If you're looking for a fast-paced twin-stick action release on Nintendo Switch, then you should check out Tachyon Project. [OpenCritic note: Tracey separately reviewed the Switch (75%) and Wii-U (80%) versions. Their scores have been averaged.]
Earthlock is a colorful and fun homage to the JRPG of ages past, refining the formula by adding many of the gameplay mechanics of this decade. The team at Snowcastle Games have improved on their original release, giving us a meaty adventure that is fun from start to finish and which you should definitely check out on Nintendo Switch.

If you're looking for a fun and challenging tower defense/RPG on PlayStation 4, then Defenders Quest: Valley of the Forgotten DX will scratch that itch. If you ever played Final Fantasy Crystal Defenders, then you'll feel right at home when you take this one for a spin on PS4. There's a lot of content to play, plenty of customization options and a ton of potential combinations for your team of defenders and the skill and abilities they can use. With each character having its own skill tree, if you want to 100% the game, you'll need to spend some extra time leveling them up, but this will also help you work towards adding a new Platinum trophy to your collection.
Aside from some of the flaws I've mentioned, Titan Quest is a decent dungeon crawler and a fun port of a classic ARPG. So if you're looking for a game to scratch that action RPG itch on PlayStation 4, Titan Quest is ready for you on physical media as well as digitally.
Hakuoki: Edo Blossoms is a solid sequel that carries on with the story of Hakuoki: Kyoto Winds, so if you have played the prequel then you're going to have a great time with this one. You do need to like visual novels, particularly those of the Otome genre, to have a good time with this PS Vita release. The narrative, colorful and detailed locations and the varied cast of characters will keep you engaged until the end. All voice acting in the game is only available in Japanese, and while I would have liked to interact with other characters with voice acting in English, this is not a deal-breaker and does not get in the way of enjoying this adventure.
Nightmares of the Deep 3: Davy Jones is a great sequel and a solid point and click adventure game on PlayStation 4. The game's graphics have come a long way when compared to the first game in the series, with better-animated cut-scenes, more polished locations with a lot of attention to detail, and several puzzle types to keep you entertained until the end.
Swim Out is a fun minimalist puzzle game that offers more than enough content to justify its asking price. If you're a fan of the genre and like relaxing puzzles you can complete at your own pace, then I definitely recommend that you get Swim Out on Nintendo Switch today.
Price-wise you're getting a great deal for the amount of content on offer on Tiles, so if you're looking for a fun puzzle game with simple gameplay mechanics to understand and a nice difficulty curve that won't overwhelm you. As long as you're patient and good with puzzle games, then you're going to have a good time with this one. Something else I wanted to mention is that the game features cross-play with its PC version, so you can play puzzles that have been created by PC players, and the puzzles you create will be playable to those on PC an PS4, which is definitely a nice feature.
The Station is an interesting space adventure that does not overstay its welcome. I enjoy playing these so-called walking simulations, and The Station is a good one with an interesting story for its short adventure. The one complaint I'd have is that the initial loading is rather long since you'll be staring at the loading screen for around two to three minutes before you're presented with the initial story cutscene. Other than that, this is a solid walking simulator on PlayStation 4 from an indie team of veterans you should check out.
Toki Tori 2 was a great puzzle/platformer on Nintendo Wii U, and for it's Nintendo Switch release everything has been improved to give us the best possible version of the game to play at home or on the go. If you're looking for a great puzzle/platformer for Nintendo's hybrid console, then you need to get this one right now!
Deiland is a must-have indie release on PlayStation 4. It's colorful, charming and relaxing, with plenty of things to do in this sandbox-style release. The game is fun, the graphics are polished and the music perfectly fits the overall experience. Arco and the game will probably remind you of The Little Prince, which definitely influenced the development team, so if you're a fan of it then this one will definitely charm its way into your collection.
If you're a fan of autorunners and fancy a good challenge then ATOMIK: RunGunJumpGun might be just what you need. The game is great on Switch when playing at home or on the go, but I did favor playing this one while in Portable mode for most of my time with the game. I definitely recommend this one since the gameplay mechanics make it an easy game to pick up and play, and a very addictive arcade-style release.
A lot of patience and practice is needed to complete the game, but if you're up for a challenge then you'll have a lot of fun with this minimalist release!
Bleed 2 is an absolute blast to play, and I had an amazing time with it. Other than the button set for the jump (and double and triple jump), this was a very entertaining experience that improves on everything its prequel did right. If you're a fan of Bleed than getting Bleed 2 is a no-brainer, and you're probably already playing it. But if you haven't played its prequel, Bleed 2 is definitely going to win you over.
