A pretty straightforward modernising of a fondly remembered 1980s shoot 'em up that successfully adds a handful of modern bells, whistles and gameplay wrinkles to proceedings whilst also suffering somewhat from the inherent gameplay restrictions of its source material.

Though things can often get a little too crazy, Hyper Sentinel's mostly satisfying gameplay and excellent presentation make it a fantastic choice for retro gaming fans.

Hyper Sentinel is an exclusive club. Its simple fun can be enjoyed by outsiders, but the players who will appreciate it the most have played 1986's Uridium or other shoot 'em ups from the same time period.
