It brought back a lot of great memories, so if you played this one way back when then you're going to love it as part of the Johnny Turbo's Arcade series.
Technically speaking, I loved how the game can be fully controlled remotely by the phones, but this also means that when Jackbox's servers are retired, this game will become completely unplayable. I, however, thought it was done very well and simple enough to bring non-technical people in the fray. Given the nature of the mini-games however, this is not a party game you will want to play with your kids.
I found Doughlings: Arcade to be a lot of fun and very addictive with tons of replay value. You won't get three stars on all levels on your first go, and you may need the abilities of other characters to help you achieve three stars in some of them, so that is where the replayability comes into play. It's an entertaining and relaxing game that gamers of all skill levels and ages can play. I recommend you give the game a download on the Nintendo Switch since it's definitely worth the price tag.
PAW Patrol: On a Roll is a good option for a Christmas gift since the game is available physically on PS4 and Nintendo Switch. It is very colorful and oozes cuteness and charm. The game has 16 levels in total set around different locations in Adventure Bay, and I'm sure any young kid you give this game to is going to love it. Hope you enjoy it!
I really liked the 8-bit sepia-toned pixelated art style mixed in with some bright colors here and there. The game's visuals are top-notch with a lot of attention to detail. Same goes for the game's music which is a weird, quirky and eccentric soundtrack that perfectly complements the experience.
If you're in the mood for an arcade beat ‘em up on the Nintendo Switch that presents you with a perfect port, then Night Slashers is definitely what you need. Sure, the game is short, as is the case for arcade games from the 1990s, but it's a fun beat ‘em up you can play on your own or with some friends in local co-op that you can play at home or on the go.
If you’re a fan of old-school overhead shoot ‘em ups, then you’re going to love this arcade take on the formula as you take on its 12 stages with three different difficulty settings and three gameplay modes!
If you're looking for a fun karting experience on the Nintendo Switch, are on a budget, and your kids love the cartoon series from Nickelodeon, then this $39.99 release is definitely going to make them very happy. My kids are certainly fans of Rugrats, SpongeBob SquarePants and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, so they ended up gravitating to those characters when playing the game for many hours.
If you're a fan of blackjack and need to play a blackjack game on PlayStation 4, then this is what you need. But if blackjack is not your thing, of if you're someone who likes to play games online, then you should definitely avoid this one.
I really can't talk more about The Shapeshifting Detective without spoiling the experience for you, but I will say that this is a brilliant FMV experience that you have to play on PlayStation 4. The story is good, the performance from each actor is solid, and the shapeshifting mechanic is very addictive. As long as you take things slowly and make sure you're not caught, you're going to have a lot of fun with this one on PS4!
Light Fingers is a fun and colorful digital board game on Nintendo Switch that is more enjoyable with a full group of four playing the game, trying to do as much damage as possible during dungeons as you all try to secure enough loot to be the victor. The game is better now than it was at launch, so here's hoping that the team at Numizmatic continue to work on extra content!
In the end, Call of Cthulhu is an interesting digital presentation of the Call of Cthulhu pen and paper RPG from Chaosium, a game from 1981. It's a slow burn type of game where the detective side of thing plays a big part, so if you're more into action games, then this one is not what you need. But if you like first-person exploration games, a dark atmosphere, and the Cthulhu mythos, then you're going to have a good time playing Call of Cthulhu on PS4.
Sinner: Sacrifice for Redemption doesn't have the overall polish of an AAA game like Dark Souls, which is understandable since their budgets are completely different, but it is a game that has found a very unique twist to the formula to stand out among other Souls-like experiences. It's a nice game for fans of the genre, but one in which inexperienced players might feel overwhelmed.
Zarvot is a fun, colorful and charming game that I loved to review on the Nintendo Switch. This is an indie release you don't want to miss and that feels right at home on Nintendo's hybrid console. Let us know how much you liked the game in the comments below!
Eternum EX is a fun and short arcade-style 2D platformer that pays homage to old-school releases while doing its own thing. If you're good at games of this genre, then you're looking at around an hour or so for completing the game in either one of its modes. Levels are short and to the point, which is not a bad thing when you're looking for that type of experience. Are you up for the challenge?
If you're a fan of Sudoku puzzles, or if you're looking into unlocking some easy and quirky Platinum trophies, then Word Sudoku by POWGI is a must-buy.
In the end, this game gave me some scary moments, but it did left me wanting a bit more out of the experience. I would've liked a bit less predictability in the whole game's gameplay cycle, and my inverted y-axis access. But if you're looking for a spooky Halloween game on PS4, then this one is going to scratch that itch. The game is available digitally on PSN, and there's also a physical copy available exclusive at Gamestop.
You're looking at 30-40 minutes of gameplay for this one, but you'll be enjoying every single one.
Car Quest was certainly something on Nintendo Switch that I was not expecting.
You're definitely getting more than enough fun from your investment.
