Old School Musical is a release that pays homage to the look and the music of games from ages past, wrapped in a fun music rhythm game package that feels right at home on the Nintendo Switch. I had a blast playing this one for review, so be sure to check it out today!
The Bard's Tale IV: Barrows Deep is certainly a game awaited by many of those who loved the original trilogy, and truly wants to keep the identity of the series in its core while making it modern and welcoming to all the people who have never heard of the saga, or even the genre. Whether or not they have succeeded at keeping the core of The Bard's Tale in this title is still up to debate for veterans, but it cannot be denied that at is price, it's an enjoyable experience that will bring you 40+ hours of entertainment.
Overall, Persian Nights: Sands of Wonder is a great point and click adventure game on PlayStation 4. The story is well written, the puzzles are cleverly designed, and the game looks and feels great. There are also two difficulty settings, casual and expert so that players of all skill levels can enjoy their time with this one – the difficulty changes how fast the hints system recharges which helps players when they're stuck. I had a lot of fun playing this game, and I certainly look forward to seeing what Artifex Mundi has to offer next!

When taking everything into consideration, Alwa's Awakening fits right into the genre and the gaming generation it tries to emulate.
Nitro Ball is a fun arcade release that definitely does something different. A shooter/pinball game? Sure, why not? It's a short, action-packed adventure you can take on by yourself or in local co-op/competitive multiplayer as each player tries to get the highest score possible.
I fell in love with the game as I played it. It speaks to my sensibilities as a gamer in terms of the dungeon crawling and exploring every nook and cranny. The battle system is different and fun, and I enjoyed the story the game gave me as well.
It might not be an extraordinary or revolutionary game, but it's a good option for a local multiplayer experience to play every now and then. If you are looking for an entry-level or just a casual approach to the genre, this title might be for you, it's worth taking a look at it.
Mini Metro is a minimalist and charming puzzle/simulation game that will keep you busy for hours. Just playing the game to unlock all the cities it has to offer will have you playing for hours as you try to perfect your city planning to establish a growing network of lines that can accommodate the needs of as many commuters possible… until the whole system collapses and you have to start all over again. Johnny Turbo's Arcade Joe and Mac Caveman Ninja is a solid arcade port of a classic 2D arcade action platformer that you should definitely check out. The game plays and feels just like it did back when I played it in the arcade, and I'm sure you're going to have a lot of fun playing it. Each run is going to take you around 30 minutes, just like back in the day, and is twice as fun when playing with a friend.
Jack N' Jill DX is a fun minimalist auto-run platformer on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita that is entertaining. Trophy hunters are going to love the fact that this cross-buy game offers two separate trophy lists so that you could earn two Platinum trophies in 40-50 minutes or so. And you can tell you're having fun playing a game when you unlock the Platinum trophy and continue to play and finish another two or three worlds before you know it!
Knights of Pen and Paper +1 Deluxier Edition on Nintendo Switch is a very fun RPG simulator that you should definitely check out. The way it sets up the adventure by being a digital representation of a pen and paper RPG dungeon crawling session is very clever, and there's a ton of content to enjoy in this pixeltastic colorful release. If you're a fan of turn-based RPGs in general, then you have to download this one today to play at home or on the go! I had a lot of fun with this game, so I hope that we soon get to play its sequel on the Nintendo Switch.
Disgaea 1 Complete is an excellent remake of an excellent strategy RPG game, and it fits perfectly in the Nintendo Switch's library. We already got to enjoy Disgaea 5 Complete last year on Nintendo's hybrid console, and getting a chance to play the first one with a whole new look is definitely appreciated. There is a ton to do in this one, and that's without even going into Etna Mode which features an alternate scenario in which Etna ends up killing Laharl, so she becomes the main character of the story!
Next Up Hero is a fun and colorful online dungeon crawler with a nice difficulty curve and an interesting gameplay system with its echo companions.
Kalypso Media have created a really good game that's worth playing if you're a fan of the genre. It's got a lot of replay value and has found a way to differentiate itself from other games in the genre.
Fullblast is a fun shoot 'em up on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita with plenty of levels to play for an entry in its genre.
Ultra Space Battle Brawl is a fun and fast-paced game that does seem tailored for multiplayer sessions as you try to keep up with the action. The satisfaction of nailing that final shot that manages to go past your opponent and towards his/her crystal for the win is a very addictive feeling, and it's something that will keep you coming back for more.
Freedom Planet is a fun action platformer that is a blast to play on Nintendo Switch. I finished my first run with the game in around 3 hours and change, and was definitely ready to do it all over again with another character since they each play very differently. Be sure to check this one out!
