Record of Lodoss War : Deedlit in Wonder Labyrinth is a charming game, with fantastic pixel art but a too simplisitc and weak Metroidvania, as it doesn't have much to offer to adventurers and feels too much of a very linear rip-off of Castlevania Symphony of the Night that lacks depth and true epicness.

Kaze and the Wild Masks borrows every aspect of the Donkey Kong Country formula, and delivers a classic adventure, which sadly lacks surprises and identity. Despite beautiful environments and old-school collectibles, it is a game you already played for the most part.

Yakuza: Like a Dragon is a must-play for both Yakuza and J-RPG fans. The PS5 version is a step-up from the original release and the story is as gripping as ever. We just wish that the PS5 version had made use of the DualSense's features and the Activity cards.

Monster Hunter Rise is probably the best episode of the saga, as it is taking all the new stuff from Monster Hunter World and improving the formula again to make the hunt more pleasant than ever, especillay if you are fond of japanese folklore. A must have for fans and the best way to discover the franchise, wherever you want.

Pioneers of Olive Town modernizes Story of Seasons' formula in a wilder, wider and somehow easier way, but such industrial revolution often feels heavy, then ultimately lacks life, if not charm, compared to the previous episodes.

5 / 10 - Neurodeck
Mar 23, 2021

In the end, Neurodeck is not a bad game. Those who would occasionnaly start a new session might enjoy their time, as it relies on a refreshing concept and fine visuals. In the long run though, the gameplay mechanics really lack of depth and the difficult topics of the game, such as toxic masculinity or post-partum depression, reveal to be approched in a too vague way.

8 / 10 - Loop Hero
Mar 17, 2021

Despite the repetitiveness inherant to the genre, the player is constantly hooked by the depth of the game, filled with subtelties and hidden features. Indeed, Loop Hero encourages him to experiment new approaches in order to gather more and more loot or to confront the four bosses of the game, the latter being no mean feat.

5 / 10 - Mundaun
Mar 16, 2021

Unique visuals, intriguing story and setting : even if it feels technically outdated, Mundaun succeeds in making you want to solve its mysteries. But it has many issues, starting with your character's slugginesh and how action and stealth can feel erratic and painful.

Mortal Shell is a quite good A-RPG with original - but imperfect - mechanics and a poor RPG section. With this new release, the game gains 60FPS, 4K and better textures. Not the better "Souls game", but a pretty descent alternative.

6 / 10 - The Climb 2
Mar 4, 2021

Five years after the critically acclaimed The Climb, it's finally time to go back on a rock-climbing game. Exclusive to Oculus Quest, The Climb 2 doesnt't try to get to new heights as it offers only one new environment and it feels like it's kind of limited technically speaking. Still very enjoyable if you didn't play the first one.

6 / 10 - Maquette
Mar 3, 2021

Maquette has something special. It delicately tells a very credible story with some clever puzzles mechanics and brillant emotional moments - thanks to the performance of Bryce Dallas Howard ans Seth Gabel. But it's flawed by some painful pacing issues and some other problems that prevent it from being truly memorable.

Bravely Default II couldn't be through with the past, as shown by the JRPG's tradtional elements which inevitably, if not deliberately arouse nostalgia. While its wider, undulating world invites exploration, this episode seriously lays everything down, from the decidedly abrupt narrative to the extremely demanding strategical battles, exploiting the risk rewarding system and jobs' combination skills at full extent. Such kinds of class, whether wisely revised or exquisitely original, are worth it. Hence Tomoya Asano signs a deeply moving fairy tale intended for the genre's erudites, a beautiful proof of bravery.

After years of absence, Arthur is finally back. For good. Despite its realease on Switch, Ghosts 'n Goblins Resurrection is still an hardcore, ruthless and satisfying experience, thank to a clever mix of sticking to its roots and expanding its game designer. If dying a thousnad times to reach the goal sounds like your kind of thing, then Arthur's great return will for sure keep you entertained, and might graetly raise your level of play.

8 / 10 - Cyber Shadow
Feb 22, 2021

Cyber Shadow is an impressive old school ninja game. The kind of retro experience that can't be recommended to everyone, as it shines by being very very difficult, but a challenge that some stubborn players asking themselves if they still have good reflexes and memory will enjoy for sure.

Persona 5 Strikers calls back the beloved heroes of the original RPG in a sympathetic but sometimes rough beat'em all. Accross all of Japan, Omega Force's new crossover delivers a colorful follow-up which still lacks for true depth and originality, still sticking to the visual identify of its brilliant inspiration.

Thans to its many clever tweaks, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury give the player many reasons to enjoy a great 3D platformer, now a little bit faster, and with friends around the globe online. Let's not forget Bowser's Fury, a tiny open world adventure which rightfully mixes gameplays from the Wii U and Switch episodes, and delivers a strong experience with a twist.

In many ways, Little Nightmares 2 is better than the first installment of the series. Throughout the six hours needed to beat the game, the player finds himself embarked on a whirlwind of opposite emotions, both terrified and blown away by the atmosphere that emerges from the setting, magnified by clever camera work, and by the general pace of the game. In addition, we can count on a satisfying and non-frustrating conclusion this time.

Control Ultimate Edition on PS5 is still a great game, and its enhancements are pleasant - Ray Tracing or 60 fps, it's up to you - even if we could have asked for something more with the DualSense. If you've never met Jesse Faden and never been to the Bureau, it's time.

7 / 10 - Olija
Jan 28, 2021

Olija is truly a great experience, a delicious and clever Pixel Art Swashbuckler video game that offers a great setting, gorgeous visuals, a world and a story to love fondly. But sadly, it is really too easy and too short.
