With Murder by Numbers, Mediatonic has managed to mix various elements from visual novel games with nonograms. The gameplay lacks of variety but the overall setting is sufficiently engaging, thanks to its characters, to make sure the player will stay until the very end.

8 / 10 - Wunderling
Mar 6, 2020

Wunderling is a very clever 2D platfromer, filled with secrets and surprises, thanks to a brilliant level design, and a smart writing all the way. Triyng to stop the hero Carrot Man, our antihero walks by himslef through dozens of levels, gathering abilities which always enrich an already very strong formula. Every 2D platformer fan of the genre should definitely give it a try.

Azure Lane Crosswave is a poor 3D shooter, with a lot of grind to unlock everything, and poor visual novel sections. Despite the game is quite sexy, some caracters look too young to appear in it. A shame.

Langrisser I & II lacks of personnality, starting with its mobile-ish visuals. Once arduous, both are now really easy to finish since no enemy can compete with your squads. The oversimplification of the games make them close to those mobile titles, with short battles and where the brain is no longer requested.

One Punch Man: A Hero Nobody Knows is nothing more than a quick cash grab made with no ambition. The characters are fun and the game has a clever way of creating a gameplay system out of Saitama's power and the series' events. But that pretty much it. The game quickly becomes boring and could visually pass as a (bad) PS3 game. One Punch Man fans will unfortunately have to wait for a better game.

4 / 10 - Overpass
Feb 28, 2020

As they say, hell is paved with good intentions. And with Overpass, the intention was good. But its shortcomings in the modeling of vehicle reactions unfortunately do not allow to devote to it diligently. Maybe by helping the player a little more to understand why he fails (an index of motricity for example), by offering him replays or real training in such events, there would have been room for improvement. But as it stands, Overpass is more a source of frustration than pleasure.

DMC3 is still a very good Beat'em Up, and adds a coop'rative mode to the Switch Version, but the remaster is very, very lazy.

5 / 10 - Bloodroots
Feb 27, 2020

BloodRoots is unfortunately not as fun as its initial promise would have made us think. Despite the undeniable fun given by the freedom of butchering your ennemies with an infinity of items, the repetitiveness of its gameplay mecanics, its un precise collisions and idle camera runs short after a couple of ours.

Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy collection reminds us that the series did not shine at its brightest trying to move from action to story-based fiction. The six different games are still okay, but their original mecanics could have been tweaked a little to match the new video game standards.

The Suicide of Rachel Foster is primarely focusing on its chilling atmosphere and a subtle writing between two characters rather than spread jump scares everywhere as we're used to with most of horror games. Gameplay-wise, the game might seem a bit classic though and the protagonist is too sluggish.

Bayonetta & Vanquish 10th Anniversary Bundle offers two great games, with 60 FPS, but no graphic improvements, neither new stuff.

While such side a story doesn't reveal crucial elements from Fire Emblem : Three Houses, this new underground location, the colorful additionnal characters and their radically transverse skills somehow deepen the adventure as a whole.

Sometimes, even the most ambitious dreams come true, but their appreciation still depends on people's aspirations and imagination.

Psikyo Shooting Stars Bravo gathers the two Gundbird and Samurai Aces series into one friendly compilation. The danmaku genre is much more present here than in the previous Alpha version, which is a real plus for fans. Too bad the game still lacks real display and tutorial options once more.

With this brand new franchise, Level-5 intends to enter the market of rogue-like titles. Alas, despite its cool and colorful universe, we can be quite disappointed by the general game design, massively borrowed from gacha games and its repetitiveness.

Warcraft III Reforged is at least equal to itself and it is already something. Yes, its graphics engine fails to display a fluidity worthy of the finesse of its redesign. But the game mechanics, the storyboarding of the campaigns and augmented narration convince the player even more that he is facing one of the big names in the history of video games. If you are not a player who is looking to be sharp to enter esports, you will also have a great time online. Don't give in to blind bashing. Make your own opinion!
