The way Deathloop presents the player with mystery, and allows them to uncover it at their own pace, is fantastic. It is easily one of the most enjoyable games I’ve played this year.
With Psychonauts 2, Double Fine has firmly planted down a pedestal of their own, creating one of the best platformers of all-time.
Blightbound is a game that looks like it would be a lot of fun on paper or in trailers, but in execution the game falls flat.
By the time the credits rolled, I sat back and reflected on the overall journey which was well-crafted, intriguing, and unique.
This game is a little gem with a lot of charm.
Its simplistic aesthetic, exploratory storytelling, breathtaking vistas, wonderfully uplifting soundtrack, and a pure sense of wonder make this game truly special.
The Ascent’s setting is remarkably striking, and it’s quite fun to play to boot. But the aspects that are either lacking, or entirely non-existent in the game’s design, have a large, detrimental affect on the overall quality of the experience.
Death's Door is unquestionably an adventure that deserves attention.
As a devoted Dungeons and Dragons player, I can respect Dark Alliance for attempting to bridge the tabletop experience and the virtual plane. Unfortunately, the game is lackluster and has more flaws than redeemable qualities.
Mass Effect is a wonderful story that is near and dear to an entire generation of gamers. This Legendary Edition is nothing short of handing someone your favorite book, and hoping they come out with the same appreciation we all have.
Rogue Heroes doesn’t do anything that will wow you or push the limits of gaming, but what it does, it does very well.
Biomutant is simply a joy. What it lacks in big-budget presentation, it more than makes up for by being unique, charming, and downright fun.
Village is one of my favorite entries in the franchise so far, and my favorite modern Resident Evil.
All in all, my time with Retro Machina was thoroughly enjoyable, aside from a few mechanical aspects that simply just didn’t do it for me.
In an industry overflowing with sequels, copycats, and remakes, Returnal is a beacon of originality.
Had Battle Axe initially released as a playable arcade cabinet title during my younger years, it’s a safe assumption that I would’ve blown through my allowance like there was no tomorrow.
Aside from a small handful of mechanical drawbacks, Demon Skin delivers an action-filled adventure worthy of attention, especially for those seeking a challenging experience
Outriders overstays its welcome with gameplay that goes from being really fun, to overly generic and boring without introducing many changes to its formula
Narita Boy fully succeeds in being a great homage to pixel titles of the past yet brings so many great modern features with it.
Overall, Monster Train is a great experience and is extremely well-polished and balanced.
