Famicom Detective Club holds your attention from first the first frames and to the credits, even if you know the genre like the back of your hand. Every piece of the story works in a tandem, creating a dark and twisted adventure with believable characters. Every session with Detective Club is an adventure of its own, and when you put the game down, it's hard to not delve on what will happen next.

Resident Evil Village is a loud and bombastic game, paired with over the top story, great set of characters, and really impressive visuals. The more action-oriented gameplay approach in the latter half may leave a bitter taste to the more orthodox fans of the series, but nevertheless Village is on its way to became one of the best games this year has to offer.

I Saw Black Clouds is a good idea with a terrible implementation, where a good cast plays at the level of a school play.

An unforgettable JRPG epic that in some aspects has not been surpassed by any other game. Unique characters and situations, a non-linear narrative structure, a deep combat system and an atmosphere of endless adventure will not leave anyone indifferent.

And now it is time for NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139…, which corrects almost all the flaws of the original release. You can still easily see glimpses of old NieR here - it's almost the same exact game. And that's great, because even after all those years there's still nothing like it.

Oddworld: Soulstorm is rather a mixed bag. On one hand there's plenty of great gameplay mechanics, some innovative gimmicks, and a dramatic story to boot. But at the same time you'll have to deal with a boring color scheme for most of the game, that pairs with some unintuitive and chaotic levels.

There's plenty of shortcomings in Outriders - from gameplay standpoint and to massive amount of techincal hickups. But even so, the deep and rewarding role playing system can make up for some of it. If you love the looter-shooter genre, than wait for Outriders to get a price drop, or simply try the game with Game Pass.

All in all Balan Wonderworld is an archaic action-platformer with tons of shortcomings in terms of level desing and overall presentation. If you love the genre, you would probably be repulsed by this game, instead of welcoming it with open arms.

Although the episode ends with an interesting cliffhanger, the game itself turned out to be mediocre, so we have no desire to wait another couple of years for the second episode to appear.

Xuan-Yuan Sword VII offers a dramatic story based on chinese mythology. Of course, the drabness of battles and long roads to some places can be tiring in the final part of the game, but in general, Xuan-Yuan Sword VII deserves an attention.

It Takes Two is most probably the biggest surpise of this spring. While the world is still in a pandemic lockdown, and games are getting delayed left and right, Josef Fares gives us an insane adventure that is full of both drama and cool gameplay ideas.

Monster Hunter Rise is something of a middle ground between Monster Hunter World and Monster Hunter Generations, and yet not something that incorporates best aspects of both titles. Rise is a great action game, that brings back some questionable mechanics, and for some reason completly forgets about some interesting old ideas.
