While the hunt for items might be a bit much for some, those that persevere will be treated with a wonderful tale that the developers say is inspired by 60s and 70s fantasy films!

Trine 4 could've been one of the best puzzler-platformer titles of the year if Frozenbyte had spent more time on designing combats and injecting new mechanics and characters to the veins of the series. The new Trine approximately feels the same as previous games, so it's a fun-to-play game, but doesn't offer anything new.

If you have the ability to play local co-op with a friend, you very well may enjoy this game. I however did not, and I think it definitely affected my gaming experience.

7 / 10.0 - Close to the Sun
Oct 3, 2019

Overall, I found Close to the Sun very enjoyable and, to be frank, it has been a long time since a game has grabbed my attention enough to not only complete it but do so in such a timely manner.  The ending of the game did leave me with some hopes for a continuation or at least a standalone DLC to explore the other angles of the story only hinted at. Currently, I find myself wondering what exactly does Tesla and rose to do in the future and how do they do it!

Candleman is a platformer puzzler that puts a strong emphasis on atmosphere to sell its story. That atmosphere is whimsical at times and haunting at others. Walking through the darkness with limited light in search of a greater purpose, Candleman beautifully illustrates the point that some times the bravest thing of all is to hope. And with each step forward, though the darkness may come, it cannot hide the light.

8.5 / 10.0 - Green Hell
Oct 1, 2019

Bottom line, Green Hell still comes across as a refreshing survival game. The difficulty level of the game will have many players screaming "bloody green hell". Initially, patience is key and learning as you go. If you do decide to stick with it you'll be treated to a rewarding experience.

7 / 10.0 - Caravan Stories

Caravan Stories is MMORPG that has more of single player adventure feel to it.

Overall, I had fun with the game. At times the controls proved to be difficult with the handheld mode, so I switched to having the Switch docked and used the controller on the TV instead. The aiming function takes a little bit of time to get adjusted to after having played other shooters before this one. Sniper Elite III: Ultimate Edition releases on October 1st for $39.99.

8 / 10.0 - Dauntless

There is a lot of potential for alternative game modes and expansion of content for Dauntless, as they regularly update the game every other week.

Puzzle Quest: The Legend Returns for the Nintendo Switch is a perfect match for the Switch's "get up and go" philosophy. While the core of the gameplay is still the time-honoured design of matching 3 tile,s Puzzle Quest: The Legend Returns manages to add enough RPG elements to keep it fresh board by board. If your a "match 3" fan and enjoy fantasy settings then this one must go on your "want list"!

In the end, this is a fast food adventure. KFC isn’t traditionally a five course banquet and that’s not what you’ll get here. I Love You Colonel Sanders: A Finger Lickin’ Good Dating Simulator is a short, devoid of any really serious game changing choices, or any long term progression. It is, however, a gorgeously constructed distraction.

World of Warcraft: Classic is a great game. It always has been. But I definitely think Blizzard might have missed the mark when it comes to securing the interest of their player base in the future.

9.5 / 10.0 - Code Vein
Sep 26, 2019

Code Vein is a Dark Souls-like game with an anime art style. There are many ways you can customize your character from looks to weapons, even up to the skills you carry in battle. You can literally customize your way of playing and it's worth every single second.

Knights and Bikes tells the tale of Demelza and Nessa as they uncover a story, battle a curse, and deal with the almost inevitable closure of Demelza's fathers business. Luckily for adventure game fans, there is a lot to love in this charming game that pays a substantial homage to some of the best coming of age adventure films of the 80s. Knights and Bikes delivers on an extraordinary experience that is hard to find these days.

Final Fantasy VIII Remastered has released and there is a lot of nostalgia for it to live up too. While the game keeps several essential systems intact and improves on the character models, I would have like to see more visual improvements throughout the game.

8.5 / 10.0 - Fracter
Sep 24, 2019

Fracter is a dark yet hauntingly refreshing puzzle game. The game is short in story and length but priced fairly to match. Each of the levels was relatively complex and contained unique and fun brain teasers without causing one to become frustratingly mad. Any puzzle fanatic looking for a "quick fix" should add this one to their "wish list"!

Overall, I was extremely pleased and delighted to replay one of my favorite horror games and also experience for the first time the sequel and standalone called Justine. The mix of scary atmospheres and ear-tickling sounds play a great part in what makes a horror game.

3 / 10.0 - Devil's Hunt
Sep 20, 2019

If you're looking for something horribly cheesy with simple controls, this could be something you might enjoy, and to be honest, if the graphics were better, that would be exactly how I would spin this. As a gouda inspired feast of intentional badness. But when you combine the script, the controls, and the graphics, it ends up just feeling like a very ambitious game that never really got there.
