Overall Whispers of a Machine is a fun well thought out point and click adventure game. This genre isn't for everyone, but for those who like it, then this is a definite buy.

8 / 10.0 - Anno 1800
Apr 16, 2019

Anno 1800, the latest installment in the Anno series is not just another City Builder. It's a great addition to the genre and the series. With new mechanics, great graphics design, and a fantastic soundtrack, there's not much to dislike about the game. If you're a fan of city builders, you will be pleasantly surprised by the quality of Anno 1800. Prepare to lose a lot of your spare time, you're going to sink a lot of time into this game!

My Time At Portia is an amazing simulation RPG game set in a charming, family-friendly setting. There's plenty of things to do in the game as well as several distinct types of gameplay, goals and approaches. Before you know it you'll be absorbed in the number of things you'd like to accomplish in the game as you whittle away hours on the real wall clock. What it boils down to is be prepared to answer the following question, best stated by Pathea and Team 17, when you pick this game up, "How will spend your time in Portia?".

Silence is a smart, inventive fairy tale that draws from the classics and tackles some weighty subject matter.

Overall, the game itself it the standard shooter from a third-person viewpoint. The controls are basic enough for younger fans to play, and not very difficult to learn. Earth Defense Force: Iron Rain is a PlayStation 4 exclusive and is set to release on April 11, 2019, priced at $59.99 USD. If you are a fan of the series, like a die-hard fan, definitely pick this up for yourself. If you are just someone looking at the game because it looks interesting, then I would wait until the price drops. I definitely would not have paid the price for this game just based on a gameplay trailer.

Overall, Mechstermination Force is a pretty good title for the Switch. I wish it had full levels like games had in the '90s. It would feel like a much fuller game, and I think people would have a lot more fun. For the very low price of $11.99 USD, you can't go wrong with the purchase of this game. Just be sure all you want to do is play against bosses. Other than that, have lots of fun with this game.

While I do fully enjoy this game, there are some things I would like to have seen a bit more of including visuals for inside the ships that show the players changes. Maybe even a semi multiplayer mode where you can compare your progress with another to drive performance and challenges.

The Division 2 has given me something in a game that I haven't experienced in quite some time: an enjoyable and compelling leveling process and an endgame that has a dynamic nature to it.

Overall, Yoshi's Crafted World is hours of fun for you and your whole family. Being able to step into a world with Yoshi as your main character will bring glee to any fans heart. He acts just as you remember from Super Mario World with all new tricks up his sleeve. For $59.99 USD you can own a copy of Yoshi's Crafted World and you will not regret it.

RBI 19 is another step forward for the returning series, and it's still the only game in town on the Switch if you want a baseball game. But for a game that fancies itself as more arcade than simulation, it's still a bit bland to play for my liking. They either need to fully commit to the Arcade-stylings or try harder to be a sim. I'd expect RBI 20 to be more of the former.

8 / 10.0 - Vaporum
Apr 3, 2019

Vaporum is a great throwback to the days of classic dungeon crawlers. The game is full of puzzles, exploration and a wonderful narrative all wrapped in some nice, basic RPG elements. If you're buying this Switch version purely to go mobile then be forewarned that it might induce eye strain, otherwise, it's a strong buy!

8.5 / 10.0 - Outward
Apr 3, 2019

Overall Outward is a fun and unique experience for those who desire the harder type of gameplay reminiscent of Souls like games. The blend of survival with this combat and its different take on magic make for a fun ride. It's light story and issues in sound work detract from that though. At $40 USD though it can offer hours and hours of gameplay alone or with a friend.

Blaster Master Zero 2 does a great job of coming off as a fun, difficulty-laden retro game of years past, while not feeling like its cheating the player with artificial difficulty.

Overall, this is one of those game series that I missed completely, but it is such a good game series and I am glad they are launching it on new gen consoles.

7 / 10.0 - Tropico 6
Apr 1, 2019

I'm not usually a "city-building" kind of gamer. Aside for some dalliances within a particularly in-depth RTS, or in a few of the newer survival type games. Even then, they are little more than curious dalliances. So imagine my surprise when I found this particular title pulling me in as its deceptive simplicity evolved into multi-tiered complexity and intense micromanaging capacities.

Overall, the game has been out since 2015 where it started on PlayStation 4, and now it is on Steam. It feels like it could be a great game if it didn't have so many issues and miscues for me.

7.5 / 10.0 - Worbital

The game has some of the most life-like physics seen for missiles and munitions. This is about as close as you can currently get to building and commandeering your own Death Star!
