Johnny Hurricane
Jun 29, 2017

Dead by Daylight is a good game for playing solo or with friends. If you prefer a multiplayer game where you have to think as opposed to just shooting someone in the face, check it out.

Valkyria Revolution fails to live up to the pedigree of its lineage. Though it tries something new with its dynamic battle system, the clunky execution will leave players frustrated and yearning for something different.

I'm under no illusions. Create a brand new golf franchise from scratch is no easy feat. There's a lot of things to get right, and while The Golf Club 2 delivers on some fronts, it's really lacking on others. At its best, it's an average golf game with near endless hours of content and a strong community feel.

7 / 10 - Nex Machina
Jun 22, 2017

Between the nonstop action and the overall aesthetics, Nex Machina is the most video game-like title you'll play this year. The overall design can get somewhat repetitive, and the odds are often not the most fair, but those looking for a challenge have found their latest addiction.

7 / 10 - RiME
Jun 17, 2017

If you're into puzzle-adventure games, RiME may very well be up your alley. However, those looking for a deep story or a fully explained world will be left disappointed. At $30, it's best to wait for a sale unless you are a diehard puzzle gamer.

8 / 10 - DiRT 4
Jun 16, 2017

DiRT 4 will appeal to almost any type of racer. The sheer amount of options guarantees long term play, and though more locales will be nice, the variety of vehicles, modes, and conditions more than makes up for it.

Castle of Shikigami is shoot-em-up comfort food. Though it does not reinvent the wheel, it provides enough unique setpieces and mechanics to warrant at least one playthough. It might not reach the heights of Cave's offerings, but diehard fans of the genre may enjoy their time with this game.

The second episode of Guardians of the Galaxy does a fair job of setting the stage for future installments. If you can get over the consistency errors and hammy writing, you've got the potential for a b-movie blockbuster full of action, drama, and blue-skinned cyborgs.

7 / 10 - Impact Winter
Jun 10, 2017

Though it is a fairly solid game, it might be worth waiting a couple more weeks until the development team sorts out the rest of the bugs before trying to survive the frozen abyss that is Impact Winter.

7 / 10 - Tekken 7
Jun 9, 2017

Tekken 7 is more of a sidestep than a total knockout for the series. It's broken online modes and sparse single player content leaves something to be desired, but those looking to throw down will appreciate its depth and complexity.

5 / 10 - Danger Zone
Jun 5, 2017

Danger Zone may crib liberal notes from the Burnout series, but its lack of personality and options greatly hinders it in the long run. Those dying to relive days gone by might find some enjoyment here, but those looking for the next coming of Criterion's classic are better off playing the originals.

The final episode of The Walking Dead: A New Frontier ends the season on a low note. It's lack of interactive elements, frequent bugs, and substandard writing will have fans of the series looking to the TV show or comic to get their walker fix.

Any Samurai Warriors or Dynasty Warriors fan will get exactly what they are looking for in Spirit of Sanada. If you find the formula a bit stale, this might be enough of a change to get you back into the series. This title is a welcome addition to the Samurai Warriors series, and I'm looking forward to the next iteration.

Guilty Gear Xrd: REV 2 isn't as big of a jump as the one -REVELATOR- made, but it is a welcome one nonetheless. It still remains one of the best fighting games out on the market today, and the additions present here make an already good game even better.

7 / 10 - The Surge
May 23, 2017

I'm pretty mixed when it comes to The Surge. It does some things right while dropping the ball elsewhere. The high price point is also a downside. If you really need something to scratch that Dark Souls itch, The Surge should fill that need. Still, I'd recommend and sale or price drop.

7 / 10 - Flinthook
May 18, 2017

Despite cribbing gameplay elements from a number of different games, Flinthook manages to be its own unique beast. Its unforgiving and repetitive design is not for everyone, but those craving pixel perfect platforming with a dash of difficulty will find a lot to like here.

Unscored - Lethal League
May 11, 2017

Packing a unique hook, a high skill ceiling, and oodles of style, Lethal League is a worthy addition to the competitive gaming scene. It may not have tons of characters or stages, but what is here will keep players smashing away for years to come.

My adventure as a Viking Thegn was a rocky one, but one that I still enjoyed. If you think the idea of playing as a viking is fun, or think the time period is interesting, give it a shot if you can overlook the bugs.

At $20, Little Nightmares is a bit expensive for what you get. However, if you like the idea of feeling like a helpless child in a foreign world, you will be hard pressed to find something better than this.
