The Sinking City is obviously not a complete open-world action adventure title, but it offers enough to keep you engaged with some solid story and atmosphere, great characters, wonderful modeling of the city of Oakmont, and that strange feeling that you would expect from H.P. Lovecraft works. If you can skip past some of the game's shortcomings, you'll get to experience something that you never did before.

Warhammer: Vermintide 2 is a precious title who aims for a specific type of gamers, those who are ready to sacrifice everything in order to just have fun with their friends, and that fun factor is exactly the reason why you wouldn't care about the game's problems that much.

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is a good, standard Metroidvania that can be very fun especially for those who are looking for a fresh Iga-Vania experience, though some shortcomings like weak story and bad character design prevent it from getting level with some recent Meteoidvania titles.

Steel Division 2 suffers from tons of issues, but if you somehow manage to get past them, you'll realize the potential behind it and how Eugan can make it a lot better if they are committed enough.

Despite all the big and small issues here and there, Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled managed to stay true to its roots while adding some wonderful, much necessary features that helped it to become a wonderful title all in all.

198X is a good mixture of clones of older games, and the fact that it focuses on a teenager's life and how identity crisis can affect that life really pays off in the end, as this whole concept makes it a unique experience. The developers though seem to lack experience to put the final touches in the right place, and that's the only reason 198X is not as good as other top indie titles of 2019.

PixARK is a really poor Minecraft clone, and that's it.

Although Fallen Tree Games is a small studio who mostly focused on mobile games until now, they managed to develop a great title using ideas and mechanisms that used to entertain us a lot, and if not for a few shortcomings here and there (probably because of budget limits) it could have done even better.

Gameplay-wise, MotoGP 19 is a success as it offers tons of different modes and contents, but visuals-wise, it could have done a lot better. Better visuals mixed with exciting commentary could have made MotoGP 19 one of the best moto racing titles in recent years, but eventually it settles to only entertain the really hardcore fans of the genre.

Super Cane Magic ZERO is one of the strangest games I have ever played, and I strongly recommend it to everyone. Humor, love for sweets and hatred for vegetables, along with its wonderful artistic design are things that you just can't ignore easily.

Layers of Fear 2 is most certainly not one of the best titles in horor genre, and although it's technically solid, there are lots of issues in gameplay and story telling departments. If you already enjoyed the first game, then probably you'll enjoy this one as well, but if you are looking for a deep, frightening experience, maybe you shouldn't rush into it.

Draugen's engaging story, wonderful characters, solid voice acting and beautiful environments could have made it an unforgettable experience, only if the developers have pushed harder through some limits and answered more story-related questions.

Conan Unconquered is a unique title in the strategy genre, but either due to limited budget or lack of time, the developers failed to reach the full potential of their ideas. Conan has the potential to become one of the best strategies in the market, and maybe developers can reach that potential through future updates, but at its current state, Conan Unconquered might not be the best option for the fans of the genre.

Unruly Heroes takes advantage of a popular and complicated story, simplify and mix it with a solid artistic design, throw in a gameplay full of content but without any notable innovations, and finally creates a pleasant experience for almost any type of gamer.

Void Bastards is not very special, and is not the first title that mixes FPS with Roguelike, but nevertheless the final package is fun and different from most titles, and you'll probably spend hours after hours enjoying it.

Darkwood tells the story of escaping from a mysterious and scary forest, where darkness and fear are the powers at work, and although it suffers from shortcomings here and there, the atmosphere alone is enough to keep you engaged and take your breath away.

SteamWorld Quest offers endless fun, and while its 15 hours gameplay is shorter than most RPGs, it still manages to entertain using a solid combat system and the familiar atmosphere the series in know for, and more importantly once again proves that the Sweden based Image & Form is one the best developers around.

If you are looking for a whole new experience from what you already had in this generation, look no more, A Plague Tale: Innocence is what you want. A Plague Tale is not open world, does not offer multiplayer experience, and there is no big budget behind it. Instead it offers a linear stealth puzzle gameplay with a deep story and solid narrative, and that's exactly what we need every once in while. To seat behind our gaming device, disconnect from the whole world and just enjoy a great video game like the good old times.

Pathologic 2 return with its engaging and mysterious story, and makes progress in translation and menu design as well, but in technical terms the same old issues are obvious. Maybe these issues will be addressed in the future episodes, but since then, get ready to come across some weird ones, while enjoying its wonderful storytelling style.
