Gamefa's Reviews
Mina the Hollower can be considered an exceptional action-adventure platformer that, with its stunning artistic approach and superb music, not only tries to pay homage to some of the most prominent classics of the genre, but simultaneously delivers a highly polished and captivating experience. The city of Ossex and its inhabitants bring great vitality to the game's world, and interacting with the various characters can be very pleasing. The gameplay, relying on the principles of Soulslike titles, creates a highly challenging experience that occasionally suffers from imbalance in certain aspects, but remains enjoyable thanks to the solid depth of its systems.

Zero Parades: For Dead Spies, with its incredibly exciting and engaging story and creative gameplay that fits and integrates with the story, is one of the works that I recommend you experience, even with its minor and major flaws in the visual and audio effects.

Gothic Remake has both notable achievements and considerable shortcomings in its journey to remake one of the most enduring RPGs in history. While sporting a more modern look, the game still preserves the deep role-playing mechanics and high player agency in quest completion—qualities that, although entirely indebted to the classic original, are far less common in today's RPG landscape. On the other hand, however, some fundamental issues can significantly overshadow the experience and frustrate the player. Furthermore, the developers' excessive effort to remain faithful to certain aspects of the classic version has caused not only the positives but also the negatives—sometimes in even greater doses—to carry over into the remake, occasionally leaving an unpleasant impression on the player. This title may offer a modern-graphics experience of Gothic 1, but as a "remake," it fails to shine particularly brightly.

007 First Light is one of those games that, after finishing it, makes you think: "Why don't they make more games like this?" It tells a remarkably captivating and engaging Bond story, featuring top-notch voice acting and performances that will keep you hooked from start to finish. Alongside its excellent narrative, the overall gameplay—brimming with stealth, interaction with spy gadgets, infiltration of various locations, and of course, the use of diplomatic and conversational skills—perfectly conveys the authentic feel of a true James Bond experience. Meanwhile, the chaotic action sequences, thanks to a dynamic and intertwined hand-to-hand combat and shooting system, allow you to make decisions on the fly, take action, and eliminate enemies in a variety of exciting ways. Finally, the diverse environments, superb atmospheric design, and iconic soundtrack come together to blend with all other aspects, creating an experience that you won't regret diving into.

How can a formula be made more accessible without stripping away its core values? Housemarque's goal with Saros is to answer this very question, and in doing so, the studio has no fear of breaking an established mold. The roguelike progression—which once posed a challenge for casual audiences while fueling the excitement of hardcore fans, has now struck a balance through sound design decisions that still honor the studio's legacy, managing to satisfy both camps. Housemarque's new title may not possess the same powerful, isolating atmosphere of Returnal, but it has deepened the combat core without compromising the action, while establishing a thematic connection between the story, artistic direction, and gameplay.

Legacy of the Dark Knght is a charming tribute to the legacy of the Dark Knight, putting you in control of Bruce Wayne/Batman from his childhood all the way to his prime as the Caped Crusader. By drawing from various sources, including the films and blending them with an original approach and a touch of humor, the game delivers an entertaining and engaging narrative. Its combat system, inspired by the Arkham trilogy, offers a seamless flow in battles and provides a more structured gameplay experience compared to previous installments. Finally, the developers' admirable finesse in crafting a dark yet vibrant Gotham City makes Legacy of the Dark Knight a must-play for Batman fans that absolutely shouldn't be missed.

Although Directive 8020 has an engaging and thought-provoking story, it significantly loses its value as an experience due to fundamental issues in level design and gameplay. If you're a die-hard fan of interactive drama and story-driven titles, there are still reasons to give it a try, but otherwise, you're better off just watching a walkthrough.

After 5 years since the previous installment, Forza Horizon 6 brings transformations in several areas such as the campaign, progression system, and driving mechanics. This time, it takes players to Japan and builds a world that, in terms of detail, varied road scenarios, and stunning visuals thanks to the Japanese setting, can easily be considered a cut above the rest of the series, especially the fifth game. However, there are some technical graphical issues, and the AI occasionally shows problems just like in previous entries. Still, overall, it delivers the enjoyable and satisfying experience expected from an arcade racing title, offering you hours of driving and exploration through Japan's beautiful roads.

Pragmata recalls the boldness and variety of linear titles from past generations. We're dealing with a game that knows what its purpose is and what it wants to be, and for that reason, it sets aside pointless ambitions and excessive bloat to stay focused on its goal. We get an entertaining narrative that, despite being clichéd, does its job well as a secondary priority. On the other hand, the core of this experience, its gameplay is so enjoyable, deep, distinctive, and innovative that it can truly get your heart racing. The unconventional combination of puzzle-solving and shooting, along with a wide variety of weapons, hacking abilities, and strategic flexibility, makes this title one of the most memorable experiences of recent years.

Despite tackling an interesting subject, maintaining an engaging atmosphere, and having some positive aspects in terms of art design and direction, Replaced is literally disjointed when it comes to gameplay and has nothing meaningful to offer. If you're craving a beautiful and different experience, it might be worth a try, otherwise, it's better not to waste your time.

Resident Evil Requiem feels meticulously polished from nearly every angle. Its glossy surface shines through in disciplined combat design, immersive visual presentation, high-quality cinematic set pieces, and a well-paced moment-to-moment rhythm. Yet The campaign length cannot fully accommodate its two protagonists, leaving their mechanics underdeveloped and denying them the space needed for meaningful characterization and narrative progression. Compared to the two previous entries, Requiem achieves higher production standards and proves more consistently entertaining. However, despite its craft and polish, it ultimately stops short of being a defining or transformative chapter for the Resident Evil franchise.

Yakuza Kiwami 3 takes two steps back for every step forward, and it's unclear who it was made for or what purpose. Making some questionable, pointless changes, removing a lot of content, and rewriting some important narrative parts has resulted in a game that not only doesn't carry the identity of the original version, but also violates its own sequel, and therefore will likely discourage many long-time fans.

God of War: Sons of Sparta is a unique take on the God of War universe that introduces us to a different Kratos. The game is generally fun to play, but issues like the lackluster art design, low enemy variety, and a boring introduction keep it from reaching its full potential. However, for fans of the series, it's still worth a try.

Reanimal is an engaging yet familiar experience that, thanks to its artistic atmosphere, vividly portrays decay, death, and despair. While its artistic approach is admirable, the game could have performed far better in terms of level design, the depth of its gameplay mechanics, and certain technical aspects. If you enjoyed similar games like the first two Little Nightmares games, you will enjoy this one too.

Nioh 3 once again proves that Team Ninja remains among the very best in the genre when it comes to designing deep, demanding, and highly addictive combat systems. The game excels in combat, exploration, and player freedom, and thanks to its two distinct combat styles, new mechanics such as Mist, a more open world structure, and well-integrated progression systems, it delivers an experience that is both immensely satisfying and deeply engaging. It is the kind of game that can effortlessly keep players invested for dozens, if not hundreds, of hours

Despite all its shortcomings and problems in narrative, visuals, and level design, Skate Story ultimately manages to draw the audience into its world and take them into the depths of the philosophy of absurdism from about the middle of the experience. If you love profound works that have something to say, go for this title without delay and be patient with the problems and inconsistencies of its first half.

Octopath Traveler 0 delivers a rich and deep experience while maintaining the series' identity. Tactical eight-player team combat, Job Switching, Latent Powers, and Path Actions systems allow for strategic and creative planning. The HD-2D visual design with dynamic lighting, diverse environments, and eye-catching visual effects creates an experience that is both nostalgic and modern at the same time. A soundtrack that fits the areas and battles, along with accurate voice acting for the characters and environments, enhances the sense of life in the game world. However, the systems are too complex for novice players, and some repetitive elements in the second half of the game can make the experience overwhelming for some gamers.

Metroid Prime 4 will be a fun experience for die-hard fans of the series, as the core gameplay of Metroid remains solid. It's not a "bad" game; it's just a wasted opportunity due to poor technical execution and greedy business decisions.

Sleep Awake has a unique idea and world-building full of potential, but in execution it only partially realizes this potential. On the one hand, the eye-catching artistic graphics, melancholic atmosphere and sound design in harmony with the game's theme provide an impressive experience; on the other hand, the shallow characterization, the inability to delve into the depth of concepts, the lack of innovation in the gameplay and the strange decision to lock the frame rate at 30, prevent the game from reaching its full potential.
