Rice Digital's Reviews

Considering its themes and atmosphere as well as frustrating gameplay, A Rose in the Twilight might not be for everyone, but there is some enjoyment to be found for the puzzle enthusiasts that enjoy more punishing gameplay and the game's rather slow mechanics. Everyone else might find more enjoyment in titles like Yomawari or The Firefly Diary we covered previously.

The loose design of the system embraces the loose nature of actual rap and hip hop.

Alpha Mission II has some nice ideas, and the occasional spectacular set-pieces that were pretty forward thinking. The armour system feels fun to play around with, and provides a lot of different options to try out over multiple playthroughs, but without more of its own identity there isn’t all that much reason to playthrough it more than once on single or co-op play.

You can respect how well it fits in with the series' overall lore.

Being an interesting historical item sadly doesn't make Fatal Fury all that fun these days.

For every novel aspect the game brings to the table it fumbles in delivering a meaningful and engaging experience. It is interesting to experiment around with the massive number of species and create a beautiful world but it all becomes repetitive rather quickly. Considering that the developers already planned out a sequel we can only hope they will be able iron out its issues and add everything they initially wanted.

With 6 new character routes, there's certainly still a draw for players of previous titles.

Operation Babel: New Tokyo Legacy does very little to improve upon its predecessor. Still the game is overall an enjoyable experience if not a bit bland at times. If you are a fan of dungeon crawlers you might want to have a look, otherwise you won't be missing out on much if you skip this title.

Disgaea 5 Complete offers the best of both worlds. The convenience of playing it both at the comfort of a large HDTV and bringing it on the go mean that this is one adventure you won't ever have to put down. If you already played the hell out of Disgaea 5 on the PlayStation 4 and bought the accompanying DLC missions, there isn't much new here to keep you entertained, but if you want to dip your feet for the first time in this rich and crazy series, Disgaea 5 Complete will keep you glued to the screen for a very long time.

Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2 doesn't really change anything fundamentally, but it brings Guilty Gear Xrd one step closer to perfection. If you still haven't bought Guilty Gear Xrd Revelator, REV 2 is a perfect way to jump into the action since it includes all the previous DLCs. If on the other hand you already have Revelator, you can purchase just the REV 2 update for only 19.99. If you are still not convinced then you can always check out the PlayStation Plus demo.

It's a great DLC that offers more of one of NieR: Automata's best aspects.

If you own a Nintendo Switch there is absolutely no excuse to not go and pick up Mario Kart 8 Deluxe right now. Even if you put an insane amount of time into the game when it came out on the Wii U, just the fact that you can jump into a race wherever, whenever and with whoever you want makes this a no-brainer. The smart steering and auto acceleration mean everyone will be able to enjoy. If you are still deciding whether or not the Switch is for you, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe might very well be the system seller you are looking for.
