90 / 100 - Okami HD
Jan 9, 2018

Okami is one of the best classics from the PS2 days and a highly recommended title for PS4 owners that have never played it before. The game requires some patience from the player, however, it is an amazing adventure throughout feudal Japan even for today standards.

Assassin's Creed Origins has the best gameplay and story of the franchise. Even with a few problems, it successfully reinvents its formula and delivers one of the best games of the year.

80 / 100 - Tokyo Xanadu eX+
Dec 29, 2017

Tokyo Xanadu eX+ is a great ARPG and has an excellent world building to tell its story. The main plot might not surprise, however it is well told and the minor stories make the whole game more interesting. Conquering a labyrinth after facing many traps and monsters is rewarding and some of the bosses are a show by themselves due to their interesting attack patterns. Tokyo Xanadu is recommended to those who like a world well built and that like ARPG with simple combat mechanics.

Life is Strange: Before the Storm - Episode 3 is heart touching and reveals more about Rachel Amber's life. However, many events that lead us to the original Life is Strange were poorly explored. A fourth episode to fix this would be ideal, which unfortunately will not happen.

This season ends with a cheesy episode, but it is entertaining during its last part and provides a closure to most of the story plots. Overall, the second season of Minecraft: Story Mode has brought a surprisingly good combat system and boss battles, however, the decisions made during the campaign had a minor relevance when compared to the first season.

70 / 100 - Romancing SaGa 2
Dec 24, 2017

Despite a few problems, Romancing SaGa 2 is a worthy experience, being a very different game from what we are used to see in the genre. It's a good option for fans of the genre that want something distinct from the tired cliches that we see around.

Episode Ignis is the best DLC of Noctis's three friends, presenting us with an excellent soundtrack, a gameplay with new and functional mechanics, an interesting story and even an alternate ending. The downsides are the duration and basically the lack of new enemies.

End of Zoe finishes the story of Resident Evil 7 biohazard explaining to us what happened to Zoe Baker through her uncle Joe. The character has a unique gameplay based on his fists, which introduces new mechanics. In addition, the campaign has many difficulties, as well as some challenges. Although expensive, you may end up liking it. Play it without expectations.

Yomawari: Midnight Shadows rides the wave from a horror standout from last year, but it fails to bring something new to the table and exaggerates in what made the first game so special.

Star Wars: Battlefront II is a wasted opportunity. The game was totally on track, fixing everything the first title did wrong and keeping the gorgeous graphics and perfect sounds. In the end, we have a mediocre single-player campaign, an ordinary Arcade mode and a varied multiplayer that suffers with lag, balancing, and a progression system tied to randomness.

Dragon's Lair Trilogy is a good game, but it is too short. For those who had the opportunity to play them in the arcades, it is worthy given the great nostalgia feeling it brings. If you never had the chance to play the trilogy, do it because the fun is guaranteed.

77 / 100 - Obduction
Dec 17, 2017

Obduction is a great first person puzzle game, developed by the makers of Myst, thus being a spiritual successor to this game. The player will find clever and challenging puzzles within a mysterious world that gradually reveals a dense and intriguing story, all of this followed by a great art direction, creating stunning and complex environments. Unfortunately, performance issues and lack of optimization bring constant stuttering and a long loading time, being a source of anger and frustration after some time. The delay in fixing these problems and bringing an expected update to the PSVR overshadows the many qualities of the game.

A Walk in the Park is the expansion for The Surge that takes the player to explore CREO World, an amusement park inside CREO's facilities. Just like in the main game, something went wrong and the new region is destroyed, with its employees acting hostile - including the park's mascots. Although it does not include any structural change or new mechanics, there is a fair amount of new enemies and a good deal of weapons, armor and implants that make the expansion worthwhile.

The Curse of Osiris does not bring what Destiny 2 needs and does not solve most of the problems that the game presents. The new Raid and the campaign modes are interesting but could be better inserted into the game universe, and all the new content is not enough to be worth the price of the expansion.

85 / 100 - Doom VFR
Dec 10, 2017

DOOM VFR brings a new and exclusive campaign to Virtual Reality. Combat is still fast-paced and rewarding. Fortunately, motion sickness and visual fatigue hardly ever happen when played in small sessions. Enemies and most of the scenarios are well-known, but seeing them up close, in a scale close to real, provides a much more fascinating and terrifying feeling. While the game is playable with a pair of PS Move and Aim VR, I recommend using the good-old DualShock 4.

SG/ZH suffers from poor gameplay which, frankly, isn't nearly good enough to be enjoyed whether alone or with friends. Tamsoft has a record of creating good action games, however, their knowledge didn't panned out when creating a TPS game.

75 / 100 - Let Them Come
Dec 7, 2017

With nonstop action, varied and challenging enemies plus a good soundtrack, Let Them Come is a fun but short game that fails to offer a greater variety to the player besides the main campaign.

Dead Rising 4: Frank's Big Package brings a lot of content in a single package, filled with fun ways to kill zombies and new ways to play. However, some changes may not satisfy everyone and the main story is not attractive enough to stand by itself.

Final Fantasy XV's spin-off, Monster of the Deep, is a fishing game that will surely please more the fans of the Final Fantasy series than any other player. Virtual Reality grants advantages to fishing, be it the freedom of movement or the immersion in the environment. However, casting is very difficult and counterintuitive, which takes a chunk of the fun. Graphics are presented in a level of details that the PSVR cannot deliver, which also adds up to an experience that could have been better.

75 / 100 - Demon Gaze II
Nov 29, 2017

Demon Gaze 2 is recommended to players that want to know the DRPG genre, however, fans of the original might be disappointed due to the simpler systems and the lack of challenges.
