68 / 100 - Vane
Jan 16, 2019

Vane is a different game. It does not present an interesting story, but it ends up delivering a unique experience of seeing the world from above through the view of a crow. Even though it has some serious technical problems and gets the player lost in some moments, Vane manages to make the player have some fun while solving some puzzles and trying to understand what happens to that world.

The Council – Episode 5: Checkmate serves as an excellent last episode for the Louis de Richett's story. Although the narrative of this episode is interesting, the technical problems linger throughout the whole story and here it would not be any different. The Council is that game which deserves to be played more than once due to its different endings based on your choices through the episodes.

If you're not looking for something more complex, Atelier Totori can make your weekend a little happier. However, the story, gameplay and mechanics in general, are a little boring and repetitive.

The Pillar features an interesting tomb with beautiful graphics. However, the plot is weak and the lack of an online co-op is noteworthy.

There are few positive aspects one can take from Jagged Alliance: Rage and the few that the game offers are obliterated by its critical performance issues, making it a game most players should avoid.

London Detective Mysteria is cruel, vile and repulsive with the way it builds its romances at the cost of the protagonist's physical and moral integrity. It's hard to believe that the protagonist doesn't end the game extremely traumatized and is able to live her happy ending with whoever it is.

Silver Lining is a great conclusion for this series of DLCs that have been somewhat disappointing. It is a more diverse DLC, presenting interesting situations that make you want to play it. The downsides are the ending, as it seems it had its development rushed, and again its length.

70 / 100 - Hover
Dec 31, 2018

Despite having several problems in its plot, design and performance, it is impossible not to have fun with Hover, either alone or with friends through the online mode. The game had potential to be much better, but this can be solved with a possible sequel. Still, Hover is definitely a title that will entertain fans of the Jet Set Radio series that until today expect a new game of the franchise.

Although the existence of an Arcade Mode offers a more enjoyable experience and should please retrogamers, it is unfortunate that the length of the dungeons and the repetitiveness compromises the enjoyment of the ambitious story mode. Madelyn's adventure is problematic and needed more development time. The potential is there, it just needed a bit more of effort.

90 / 100 - Red Matter
Dec 30, 2018

Red Matter is a great addition to the PlayStation VR game catalog and will certainly please anyone looking for a good story with simple and enjoyable gameplay.

Although repetitive and a little exhausting, The Lair of the Lost Lord, Ni No Kuni II's first great expansion, amuses by bringing new equipment and a new style of gameplay to battle against the most difficult enemies of the adventure.

Despite having a few issues that, in the end, prevent it from being an even better game, The Last Remnant Remastered is a fun RPG, with a good and different combat system and an interesting story, specially for those that haven't played its original version.

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds looks like an unfinished game due to its lack of polishing. Its gameplay and presentation show technical problems that end up messing the game experience. PUBG still makes the player feel lonely instead of feeling among 100 other people.

Overall, Atelier Rorona: The Alchemist of Arland DX is a game intended for players who like to create things and deal with people. Although there are battles, they are weak and somewhat tedious, making it even clearer that the title's focus is on taking care of the workshop, rather than breaking out generic maps in search of colossal monsters.

Earth Defense Force 5 impresses by its scale with hundreds of enemies in each stage, several weapons to test and the courage to make the player learn their particularities to eventually cause destruction according to their wishes. This is certainly one of the most special titles of the year.

Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales is a very well done game, has an impeccable location (dubbing), and it fuses the genre of RPG and card game very well. Within the universe of The Witcher, addressing so many ethical issues and with so many decisions to make, finding out what will be the end between the 20 available is more interesting by the hour. It's a beautiful game, full of details, animations and interactions that make the gameplay a great experience.

A great game with issues that can mostly be solved with patches, Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden manages to deliver everything you could want from a turn-based strategy game, with great gameplay and a good story working as the basis for a game that challenges you with each turn in the best way possible.

65 / 100 - Just Cause 4
Dec 13, 2018

Avalanche Studios has brought novelties, such as the huge amount of easter eggs and weather conditions, making the game fun, but it's full of mobility issues, and textures that don't match. Not to mention the story and extremely repetitive missions, that make the game interesting just by having an extensive map and abundant jokes.

50 / 100 - Gungrave VR
Dec 12, 2018

Gungrave VR unfortunately is a title that has the worst characteristics of a game destined for PlayStation VR: it is boring and monotonous. This added to its very short duration, lack of plot and technical problems makes the high price charged by it simply not worth it. It's completely questionable why developers had to produce a new Gungrave series title for VR. The game could have worked better if it followed the original formula that was established in the previous titles.
