Bud Spencer & Terence Hill – Slaps and Beans 2 is a tribute to fans of Bud and Terence, whose nostalgia and references to the famous duo imprint the quality necessary to conquer a space among the indie games focused on the retro pixel art style. The unique features full of humor, associated with the dynamic between protagonists and antagonists, is the differential that signals the extravagant personality of the game.

MythForce had everything to please an entire generation that grew up falling in love with the peculiar aesthetic of the adventurous animations of the 1980s and 1990s, but unfortunately the inspirations were only in the concept. As soon as the game starts, it only presents us with a generic roguelite journey, simple-minded and devoid of any emotion.

Despite not delivering what it promised and sounding like a step back after so many new experiences developed by Experience, Mon-Yu still manages to offer at least the essential experience and entertain familiar players with the genre.

The Crew Motorfest is a great addition to the franchise, but it's also a title that may disappoint some fans, especially those who have kept playing its predecessor for so long. While the game is packed with fun activities, the focus on multiplayer may make many unwilling to keep up with the ongoing evolution that will come in the coming months and years.

Separate Ways is a great expansion, bringing an additional campaign to one of the best titles of 2023. In addition to completely reinventing what existed at the time of the PS2, the DLC brings novelties to the gameplay and manages to deliver a complete package when we take into account the base game as well.

Infinity Strash: Dragon Quest The Adventure of Dai is a good game adapting an anime, but a relatively shallow Action RPG. While there's plenty of content here (especially if you're a fan of the franchise), the game just recreates the narrative of the animation, the combat is simple, and its most unique mode ends up tiring by repetitiveness.

If we look at The Crackpet Show: Happy Tree Friends Edition as a game dedicated to the famous characters that marked the era decades ago, it will certainly owe a lot because it takes little advantage of its qualities beyond the visuals. As a roguelike shooter that mixes comedy, cuteness and gratuitous violence, though, there's plenty of uncompromising fun here for fans of the genre.

Summum Aeterna is another fantastic roguelite. The title knew how to incorporate well all its influences and the result of this is a satisfying 2D action game. If you add all this "randomizer" side to the formula, the game can become even more fun.

Agatha Christie – Hercule Poirot: The London Case follows the patterns of its predecessor and delivers a great mystery plot worthy of the author's best works. With simple mechanics and a shaky look, however, its best qualities are in the way the investigation is conducted and the twists that only good stories of the genre can provide.

EA Sports FC 24 is a beautiful new look for a classic that has been evolving for decades and establishing itself as the leading sports simulator on the market. With even better gameplay, more intuitive menus and more agile modes that allow you to go to the field as quickly as possible, this is the definitive proof that regardless of the name change, what matters is that the quality remains the same.

Some of its worst problems are solved by adding new narrative layers, improving problematic systems, and ultimately taking the game to the level we expected at launch.

Days of Doom is a fun mix between roguelite and tactical RPG that keeps you entertained in large part for its simplicity. Although the game manages to capture well the feeling of wanting to play just one more run, its simplicity also ends up limiting the time you can enjoy it.

Nearly 25 years after their respective releases, Rhapsody: Marl Kingdom Chronicles finally brings two good PS1 and PS2 RPGs once exclusive to Japan for modern platforms. Although they are not must-see games, both bring several unique elements that make them very fun and that will captivate fans of the genre who have never played them.

Mortal Kombat 1 has a fun gameplay with several options of combo routes because of the Kameos. However, the Invasions mode gets boring quickly and the final arc of the Story mode doesn't please either. The customization of the characters could be further improved after what we've seen in the other games from NetherRealm Studios and the absence of Krypta is remarkable.

NBA 2K24 is both an incredible basketball simulator at its best on the court and a game tainted by the glut of microtransactions it tries to sell to players. While all modes deliver plenty of content and are long, long-lasting experiences, their success for the player depends heavily on your tolerance for someone trying to sell you something all the time.

WrestleQuest is a fun homage to one of the most important eras of wrestling. It's wrapped in a narrative and combat with good ideas and fun execution, yet fails to reach a higher level thanks to some frustrating design choices that make the game overly repetitive.

Lies of P combines elements of Soulsborne games, adds some ideas of its own and puts it all into a beautifully set version of a dark world, inspired by one of the best-known stories in classic literature. Some of its combat mechanics may take a little longer to get used to, but that doesn't take away from Lies of P's merits in being one of the best Soulslikes released recently.

Firewall Ultra is a simple game, with few modes at launch and that depend on a very time-consuming matchmaking. In addition, the gameplay explores little of the capabilities of VR. With the promised support, Ultra Firewall may be better in the future, but it's hard to recommend it at the moment.

A competent visual novel with an engaging story and unique artwork, ANONYMOUS; CODE delivers a solid experience, even though, at certain points, it brings well-known beats from other games in the SciADV series.
