PSX Brasil's Reviews

The Dark Pictures Anthology: Little Hope has a history and mechanics superior to its predecessor. However, there is a "pattern" in the plot that must be broken, as well as the way they build the characters. If the mechanics remain the same in the future, chances are its successors will fall into sameness.

94 / 100 - A Tale of Paper
Oct 30, 2020

Based on the identity of the mechanics and proposals of other indie titles, A Tale of Paper is a game that stands out for the way it makes the best of this segment without the famous tributes to great titles of the past. In order to promote an experience focused on human sensations, technical factors such as graphics and soundtrack stand out to sharpen the senses, allowing a reflection on what it is to love and the search for the self.

A little less "sequel" and a little more "fandisc", Robotics;Notes DaSH brings the Tanegashima robot club for another round, exploring their aspirations and personalities more, without really advancing the story where its predecessor left off.

75 / 100 - The Survivalists
Oct 28, 2020

The Survivalists is not one of the most original games of all time, but it manages to deliver everything that it proposes to the player, with a great creation system (although it is more truncated than it should be), a neat pixel art look and secrets every time more curious for the more dedicated, offering an extra dose of fun to play alone or with other people.

Darkness in the Capital is perhaps one of the best expansions in the entire Nioh franchise. New enemies and a great new weapon end up standing out, but we also find great boss fights here. The expansion formula starts to get repetitive and needs to be renewed, but we will probably only see that in a third game.

70 / 100 - Tin & Kuna
Oct 26, 2020

Tin & Kuna is a good platform and puzzle game. It has a variety of challenges and the gameplay is satisfactory. However, it is a relatively short title and, despite the variety, it is monotonous to keep pushing and taking objects throughout the stages.

Pathfinder: Kingmaker is a faithful representation of a pen and paper RPG experience, with all the variables and systems that the original already had, as well as a complete and detailed character creation. Although this sounds like a good thing, this game is not recommended for any type of player, who can end up having an extremely exhausting experience due to its high difficulty, complex concepts, extensive history and endless loading screens.

9 Monkeys of Shaolin is a complete beat 'em up, with the best characteristics that enshrined the genre. Despite some slippage of pace, some technical limitations and a certain lack of variety of enemies and missions, it has a neat aesthetic and well-implemented mechanics, and manages to tell its story in a very competent way.

The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel IV is an excellent JRPG and easily one of the very best the genre has to offer in a generation which was rich with great experiences. Its turn-based combat has been finely tuned to perfection and its narrative is a fantastic example of how to reward players for investing time throughout multiple games, ending the metaseries and setting the stage for the future in the best way possible.

60 / 100 - Space Crew
Oct 22, 2020

Although very limited, Space Crew is a game that manages to appeal in short sessions, using its concept to deliver good moments to the player. It is a pity that the repetitive design and lack of variety in the gameplay limit its potential.

75 / 100 - Unrailed!
Oct 21, 2020

Thinking about the scope of production and the result presented, Unrailed! is a good recommendation for anyone looking for something light and without that mandatory constant engagement and it works even more playing with the crowd. In the total absence of any narrative line and with a very characteristic look, it is in the simplicity of the mechanics where the game finds its greatest assets.

80 / 100 - Foregone
Oct 20, 2020

With a refined and well-executed technical structure, Foregone is a game that conquers by quality and formal aspects such as graphics and gameplay. Exploration in 2D scenarios attributes a particular style in which the reality of the Calagam universe is possible and challenging within the perspective of the platform genre. Elements of action and combat complete the title being decisive for progression and have direct action on the replay factor. With an emphasis on power lumps and weapon improvements in the classic style, the game is suitable for players who know the dynamics and are familiar with the proposed challenges.

70 / 100 - Torchlight III
Oct 18, 2020

Torchlight III is not the best game in the franchise and appears in a very simplified way, mainly in its gameplay. The changes were notable during the development of the title and it is an experience that falls short of its predecessor. However, it is still fun enough to guarantee a few hours of entertainment.

70 / 100 - FIFA 21
Oct 17, 2020

FIFA 21 does not do enough to show the power of the franchise. It remains an experience just like the previous ones, but still fun in some points. Gameplay still favors individualism more than the collective, this in a sport where the collective is everything. The career mode is certainly the most benefited in this version, but most players will still invest in the FUT mode, which is unbalanced and prioritizes the microtransaction market.

70 / 100 - Ride 4
Oct 15, 2020

Ride 4 is definitely a niche game, not only because of the theme, but because of the level of technical demands it proposes. Visually, one of the best of its kind, it brings a lot of content for lovers of the two wheels, but with a flawed artificial intelligence and a cruel learning curve, it is recommended only for specialists, or at least, for the most patient.

Necromunda: Underhive Wars is an interesting game, but one that fails in some of the most basic premises of the genre and ends up managing to turn it into something boring that not even the setting can save it from failure.

Panzer Dragoon: Remake is undeniably very faithful to the original SEGA Saturn game and, therefore, an appeal to nostalgia. However, it is so faithful that at times it seems limited to a restricted and confusing gameplay. If the audiovisual received a decent and adequate update, there was a lack of boldness in bringing the game to the present day in other areas.

Star Wars: Squadrons offers a great experience within its proposal – the combat in classic ships of the franchise – with a satisfactory campaign and a robust multiplayer mode. With a competent look, its greatest strength is, in fact, in the sharp and balanced gameplay, not forgetting the franchise's inevitable appeal to fans of all ages.
