Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin runs fine on the Nintendo Switch - the monsters are a highlight, and the rest of the game is okay. That’s the real problem. That’s the real shame. That’s the real missed opportunity.

6 / 10.0 - Godfall
Nov 26, 2020

When you step away from the controller and really think about the cracks in its foundations, though, Godfall simply becomes another looter with a poor launch that can't seem to do much of anything right beyond being just fine. A terribly uninteresting story and a severe lack of content turns it into a game that will only provide you the bare minimum fun factor, and there's a lot better you can do with your time and money right now.

Immortal Realms: Vampire Wars is a decent game that suffers from repetition and poor AI making the game a tad too easy. It is a fun distraction and with 3 campaigns following different vampire clans, it is a long game. Unfortunately, you may get bored by the ease of winning long before you make it through the story and the different campaigns, but it does show promise and it is great to see strategy games make a comeback of sorts to PC and console.

Ghost Recon Breakpoint has been one of the most disappointing titles of the year, and a significant step-back for the franchise, as well as the publisher.

6 / 10.0 - Fallout 76

Fallout 76 boasts an impressive open world in West Virginia, but it's a lonely journey on the country roads. It's greatest aspects are buried under a myriad of nagging technical issues.

6 / 10.0 - Pop-up Pilgrims

With a beautiful art style and lack of a challenge, Pop-up Pilgrims is a game with a lot of potential but poor execution.

If you’re desperate to complete your remastered Resident Evil collection, and have never played Resident Evil: Revelations before, the low price point is appealing. The game is certainly worth experiencing for Resident Evil fans, if only for the ridiculous and entertaining plot.

The Lego formula is starting to wear a little thin, and this game’s dated presentation, both visually and in the sound department, are not up to the standard that Traveller’s Tales themselves have already exceeded in other titles.

6 / 10.0 - Yooka Laylee
Apr 3, 2017

Overall, I feel as though Yooka-Laylee has teased me with the past. So many good individual aspects giving me a glimpse of what I loved of the genre. But there are so many other parts of it that detract from the experience and make me wonder if I put up with such things in the past, without noticing them.

6.5 / 10.0 - Sonic Superstars
Oct 23, 2023

Sonic Superstars tries to revitalise the platforming golden era of the franchise to mixed results - fun at times with equal amounts of frustration holding it back.

When I say I did not have a great time roaming around Middle-earth, it’s coming from a place of genuine disappointment and frustration – rather than as a result of any preconceived notions.

Need for Speed Unbound ended up feeling like a step sidewards for the franchise instead of forward. It’s still trailing behind other arcade racers in the genre despite having a strong, stylish presentation.

6.5 / 10.0 - NBA 2K23
Oct 10, 2022

If you’re willing to bypass the constant nagging from ads to buy currency, you will find a great selection of modes with depth and hours of enjoyment. But it is hard to ignore the glaring and bleak future the microtransactions paint for the future of the series.

6.5 / 10.0 - Collapsed
Dec 9, 2021

Unfortunately, the presentation and strong opening hours are not enough to offset the repetition and grind that comes to dominate the experience if you want to unlock more of the narrative and see the true ending.

Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Earthblood might be fun during minute-to-minute gameplay, but it is seriously lacking in complexity when it comes to actual “role-playing”. If you’re after an experience akin to Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines, you’ll have to hold out for its sequel.

6.5 / 10.0 - NBA 2K21
Oct 7, 2020

I was rather looking forward to seeing what NBA had to offer – especially with all the buzz of next-generation – hoping for some fresh ideas and a bit more life injected into NBA 2K21. However, this was not to be, as we simply got a familiar refresh of years past – and not that it’s a bad thing, its just a little underwhelming. NBA 2K21 still offers an immensely fun, and impressive, basketball title, with a ton of modes to play through, but its time for NBA 2K to start switching up their plays a little bit.

6.5 / 10.0 - Kirby Fighters 2
Oct 6, 2020

Kirby Fighters 2 is flooded with charm and potential with some well thought out level designs. The different abilities of the characters while different seem to fade into each other and the various Kirby’s all become the same character. Simply put, it all feels very watered down and mundane.

Pokémon Sword introduces some welcomed features, but the game feels as if it would be more at home on the 3DS, with the dated visuals, lacklustre animations, and a lack of polish that leaves you wishing they had taken more time on the game.

While there are plenty of events to keep you and your friends busy, the Story Mode leaves a lot to be desired, even though its premise isn’t terrible. The gameplay is mostly pleasantly accessible but sadly many events lack a good enough challenge, even if you crank up the difficulty in the Quick Match mode.

6.5 / 10.0 - World War Z
Apr 22, 2019

World War Z lays a solid foundation for future content, gameplay expansions, and DLC (free or not). The gameplay loop is fun, although repetitive, it delivers a frantic moment to moment shooting experience.
