Overall, whilst I enjoyed my time with Claws of Furry I couldn’t shake the feeling of something being missing from the experience. I love the style, I love the concept, but I can’t help but feel that it’s too simple. It has a true Castle Crashers vibe but none of the complexity, and it just leaves me cold, especially considering the lack of replayability. Yes, this would work really well on an arcade machine, due to it’s easy to learn nature and fantastic graphics style, but in this day and age, I would have expected more for £8.99.

7 / 10 - Mugsters
Jul 16, 2018

The game is fun and frantic for the majority of the time, even though I did sometimes throw my controller across the room in rage when I got one shotted by those damn UFO’s. I wish there was better multiplayer even though I very rarely care for it, but I know many people do, plus having better online features will allow your friends to join the game instead of having them around to play, OMG so 90s.

Overall, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey gets a 7/10, it is an enjoyable experience that lets you explore, grind and complete objectives for hours on end. Disappointingly it has strayed so far from the core aspect of AC, which was being an assassin with the implementation of levelled kills, forcing you to engage with combat over and over again. Vistas are beautiful, with a surprisingly good female lead, while the male lead falls far behind.

Overall, the Sega Mega Drive Classics collection is a decent addition if you are craving some more retro game time. Unfortunately, the omission of a lot of really good titles hampers this collection as a whole. Of course, there are licensing issues but you can easily see where they tried to cram titles in just to fill the collection up.

A Terrible Pun (that’s me!)

A fun gunzerking experience and psychic blasting moments of epic proportions! One that I have enjoyed from start to finish despite the lackluster story and patriotic efforts to the chapter. Dying? No thank you! Stutters and crashes won’t stop me from playing even if I have to crawl my way with the loading times which are rather longer than what I want but not enough to brew some coffee.

7 / 10 - FOX n FORESTS
May 28, 2018

The justification for badgercide aside, Fox ‘n’ Forests is another of those indie titles that, while a faithful and enjoyable homage to their subject material, also isn’t going to blow anyone away or change anyone’s mind. Whereas Shovel Knight kept what worked from retro games and threw out what didn’t, Fox brings over slightly too much in the name of nostalgia and ends up with a few rough edges

A TERRIBLE PUN (THAT’S ME!)
7 / 10 - Gal*Gun 2
Apr 26, 2018

All in all, the game has its quirks and letdowns plus the sexual themes that could probably pique your interest or simply make you walk away. With a decent story to boot it up, it’s one of those dating games that felt a little more interesting especially that it has a full 3D world at which you can look around and a few things like books, pencils, balls or even statues that can be interacted to despite how useless they seem to be within the world. Definitely not the best story but it works.

Overall Urban Trials: Playground is an excellent addition to the Switch’s library, providing a different style of gameplay. It functionally emulates the feeling of it’s forbearers, and whilst there are many areas for improvement I can’t deny I had a blast taking this on the move.

A TERRIBLE PUN (THAT’S ME!)
Apr 16, 2018

So with all that in mind, did the game served its purpose or did I just waste my time trying it out? It’s both actually! It served its purpose by thoroughly entertaining the heck out of me and the kids while also a waste of time just because I saw myself dying a few times while learning the game and how to beat certain types of enemies. And it’s a waste because I end up wasting my hard earned gold and silver coins spending on the toys of legend for every death whether it’s because I ran out of time and had to face the boss or just because I enter what I like to call the idiot-zone and go “kamikaze” as I rush through hordes of enemies and spamming the attack button.

7 / 10 - Octahedron

All in all, it’s a fairly simple game with mechanics that works well enough as long as you don’t have two left thumbs and trigger fingers because coordination is one of the key aspects to learning this simple yet unique game.

Pure Farming 2018 is a much-needed combatant to the ever-popular Farming Simulator most people are used to. It is always nice to see someone take a risk and come out with a title when only one other game of this genre has been dominating for so long.

This brings me to my final conclusion; why buy Burnout Paradise Remastered? It’s a great game, true, and it looks shinier now, of course. But really, given that the original is only ten years old and available on both PC and last gen consoles, not a lot has changed to justify the stunningly high asking price that EA have attached to this version.

Sinner: Sacrifice for Redemption really packs a punch. The whole idea of making a Shadow of the Colossus and Dark Souls hybrid is a risk that this game nails without a doubt. Sure it feels like more could have been added like maybe some levels you have to go through to get to the bosses but it’s not the end of the world. Having a mechanic that makes you weaker, not stronger is a nice twist and certainly makes the boss fights more tense the closer you get to defeating them.

The Longest Five Minutes is an extremely interesting experience which mixes an engaging story with classic gameplay; even if it does lose a little player engagement due to this. The characters are deep and engaging, with rewarding relationships between them to be explored. I thoroughly enjoyed my time with it and have decided to score it accordingly, but I simply cannot recommend buying it from the UK Nintendo Eshop at this time due to the overpricing in comparison to other versions.

Fans of difficult RPGs will enjoy Legrand, but with so many tactics required for normal battles, rigging encounters in your favour or stockpiling items, any player might feel like the game was against them. Against other “difficult” games like Dark Souls that allowed skill to prevail over stats, Legrand feels too narrowed into numbers or the single path allowed for victory.

In closing, I feel that EA SPORTS UFC 3 delivers a striking blow to the series. Despite falling short with the stale and clunky groundwork, some minor hit detection issues and the dreaded ‘Ultimate Team’ Micro transactions (which truthfully the career mode more than makes up for this) I feel that this is a standout game for anyone who likes the combat sport genre, however there is still major room for improvement.

7 / 10 - SpellForce 3
May 23, 2018

A Fantastic storyline, intrinsic characters, stunning maps that are visually enticing and a blend of genres synched in game play. A game I have thoroughly enjoyed playing but did take quite a few hours to hook me. It has some flaws and to me they are forgivable as I truly escaped into the world of Eo as a new player to the series and I will definitely be looking for future installments and probably purchasing the older games as well.

7 / 10 - Swim Out
Mar 16, 2018

Swim Out isn’t a terrible game. It has addicting tendencies and you will want to learn the patterns of every level just so you can get to the next. Unfortunately for its flaws (lack of story, dull environments, lack of background music, static animations and very frustrating restart sequences), this title doesn’t compare to other puzzle games out there except for one thing: the price.

7 / 10 - Nightmare Boy
Feb 19, 2018

Overall, Nightmare Boy is a lot of fun, despite it’s many flaws. It’s not the best Metroidvania on Switch in terms of gameplay by a long shot, but the sense of style it embodies is enough to carry it, and the overall experience does improve the more you play.

7 / 10 - High Hell
Dec 6, 2017

Playing High Hell was a complete rush, replaying levels again and again to improve and better your self was addictive. With its simple game play, solid sound and visuals it’s an experience to be had. At £8.99 on steam it’s a steal. It’s time to put on your kicking shoes and stick it to the man, one demonic goat at a time.
