World of Final Fantasy is a charming turn-based RPG filled with familiar characters, settings, and music to make any fan of the series happy. While it's adorable setting, interesting story, and new combat mechanics provide hours of fun, it eventually becomes tediously repetitive and the fights become monotonous. Even creating and customizing stacks loses its luster when you start resorting to familiar "tried and tested" combinations. The game could have definitely benefited from a much shorter campaign.

EA and DICE have managed to present a new installment in an annual series that stands out from its predecessors in every possible way. The story is more human, the visuals are breathtaking, the multiplayer modes are varies, and the maps are terrific. Battlefield 1 presents the tragic events of World War I beautifully in a way that respects the realness of the tragedy, which is what makes it special.

Mafia 3 has one of the best stories we've seen between the video games that released this year. However it suffers greatly from a repetitive gameplay experience, mediocre mechanics, and bad visuals. It's stellar story is not enough to make up for how disappointing everything else is.

Hitman’s latest Colorado mission is quite a change up from the traditional classy missions seen earlier, but the new formula does not exactly work for 47. While the emphasis is on maximum stealth, there will be times where you just give up and shoot everyone.

Forza Horizon 3 is a masterpiece among open world racing games, a complete victory.

Assetto Corsa is a perfect example of ambition. Kunos Simulazioni is not a very big studio but that didn't stop them from working hard to release a simulation game that can compete against existing series. Yet the studio fell short of delivering the expected and necessary standard to pose any real threat to other driving simulation games out there.

EA tried to make FIFA 17 feel new and while it succeeded in some areas, it failed in others. Certain modes in the game have been given a new sense of purpose and direction with the formation of the campaign and the graphics look better than ever thanks to the Frostbite engine, yet the gameplay experience does not yet feel real enough.

NBA 2K17 continues the tradition by delivering a more refined version of the best basketball simulator out there. With increased options in ball control, a better (but not so great) story, and a ton of customization options, NBA 2K17 is a blast to play even if it is set back by sluggish online connectivity issues.

Seasons After Fall is an incredibly charming platforming experience. The art style, soundtrack, and overall atmosphere are well done. The powers of the seasons are also great although the puzzles weren’t challenging enough and didn’t utilize them properly. If you feel like having a good time without thinking too much, I would definitely recommend it. However, if you’re looking for a challenge, this might not be the game for you.

Hitman’s latest mission is fairly reminiscent of the more classic Hitman games, thanks to the extravagant hotel setup, and well guarded targets. However, due to some glitches, and some minor complications in gameplay, the latest mission just misses the target by a few inches.

The King of Fighters XIV is one of the best installments for the series so far and it paves the way for a new era of SNK fighting games in the future. If you're a fan of the genre and want to go through a unique and enjoyable experience, then The King of Fighters XIV is the game for you.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is an excellent continuation of the series. It has a deep and balanced story with additions that might seem trivial to some but are highly effective in transforming the gameplay experience. The graphics on the PS4 need to be upgraded for players on the console to have a better time with the game.

No Man's Sky might not be a perfect game, in fact it is riddled with flaws from a technical and visual perspective, but it is certainly a bold new step that benefited from random generation technology to give us an impressive universe with endless possibility. We have to appreciate the effort that the small Hello Games has been able to put into this.

Warner Bros. has done what we all wanted EA to do: create a genuinely fun Star Wars experience that honors the beloved universe. LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens is incredibly fun and it's jampacked with easter eggs that'll make any fan smile. The game is full of charm and witty humor, the story is great, the levels and puzzles are terrific, and the new gameplay mechanics add a lot of much needed diversity.

Unfortunately, the open world of Mirror's Edge: Catalyst is a sad and disappointing one and if it weren't for the exciting parkour and constant running it would have been absolutely barren. A superficial story, weak characters, and okay visuals make Catalyst is less than stellar continuation of Faith's story.

So was the Marrakesh episode a step up from the Sapienza? Definitely not. The targets were a bit too easy (or maybe I’m just getting good at the game), and I could not get over the local shopkeepers or even the soldiers who talk with a really strong American accent. The whole episodic release plan might not have been the smartest idea because this episode wouldn't really get you stoked for the next one.

At $40 Overwatch is easy to grab and dive into, with Blizzard promising the first content update coming for free in June, which will introduce Competitive Play. We’re hoping for more heroes and maps to be added in over time, but as it stands Overwatch is a ton of fun to play and explore, and is only going to get better over time.

Homefront: The Revolution is game that starts with a lot of potential, but fails to deliver. Given time it can be easy to get used to, but the amount of bugs and framerate drops in the game can make you put it down.

If you're a fan of single player games or old school shooters, then DOOM will definitely get your satisfaction make you thirty for more blood over 10 hours of back-to-back action and excitement. You can also unleash your creativity and create your own levels and challenges with the SnapMap. However, you'll be let down by the multiplayer modes that lack any challenge or improvement.

The experience that Gearbox has gained while developing Borderlands is clear in Battleborn, as it presents a hybrid of a sarcastic story and excellent characters in a beloved MOBA genre. While the game as it is now is not up to par with other MOBAs out there, it will definitely benefit from updates and the constant addition of content.
