Stellar writing and performances are paired with refined mechanics and an overall vibe that makes the whole thing seem effortless.
It’s just all so captivating and lovely, rising above small annoyances or shortcomings to prove why it has been held up as a classic for so long.
If you’re an RPG fan, a Fallout fan or even just a videogame fan, do yourself a favour and play one of this year’s very best games; Wasteland 3.
There’s a more than decent racing game thrumming underneath this hood
I had high hopes for No Straight Roads. Its rock v EDM plot with a city powered by music is certainly right up my alley but it never capitalises on its potential. This is one of 2020’s biggest letdowns and a game that will forever be remembered for what could have been.
Battletoads is utterly ridiculous and stupidly good fun which is exactly what we need right now.
PGA Tour 2K21 is by far the best golf game ever and easily one of the best, most polished and competent games released in 2020.
There's near-limitless gameplay potential in Microsoft Flight Simulator and there's simply no denying how magnificent it is.
Röki is a modern-day fairy tale with all the makings of a classic. It tells an incredibly complex, emotionally deep story that brought tears to my eyes more than once
This game is the most illogical conclusion to the timeline we’ve been tracking on, but it’s a refreshing pull away from the all-too-serious shooters.
It’s the gaming equivalent of a bag of Original Smiths chips – if you bring it to a party you’re not going to blow anyone’s mind, but everyone’s going to want at least a handful.
Overall, An Interesting Journey of Monsieur PAF is a strange, enjoyable puzzle game with enough originality and puzzles to keep most players entertained.
Necrobarista is a visual novel, true, but I mean this as a compliment: it made me wish it were something more than that. And the next time I manage to go out for coffee, whenever that may be, I guarantee you I’ll be thinking about Terminal.
As a critic, I can’t pretend that the game’s flaws don’t outweigh its qualities. It’s all but impossible to really dislike a game like this, one that has such obvious good intentions and a sincere, hopeful outlook. But there’s also, unfortunately, little reason to recommend that you play it.
Personally, I enjoyed my time with Fairy Tail, but I would suggest players start on Normal and increase the difficulty when they feel comfortable, as a game like this really benefits from strategic decision-making in order to keep it interesting.
If you can stick with it, learn the controls and dedicate enough time to understand skateboarding you'll find out Skater XL is the ultimate skating videogame.
If nothing else, jumping in his saucer and decimating an entire town can be quite cathartic. Or is that just me?
The game is pure power fantasy, a reverse-horror game where you can’t help but root for the monster. It’s also an indie game where it feels like the developers have created the exact experience they wanted to make without compromise
As a whole, the overall presentation is a major let-down to what is otherwise a rather sharp and strong racing game.
Ghost of Tsushima isn't perfect but, like a summoned objective on your touchpad, it's a breath of fresh air that'll send a warm chill down the spine of any Samurai aficionado.
