9 / 10.0 - Disco Elysium
Dec 24, 2019

Overall , while paying respects to gaming’s founding fathers in familiar yet polished gameplay, Disco Elysium paves its own path. While the controls sometimes feel lacking, it is the narrative heart and aesthetics that truly shine to an exemplary level.

It only slightly improves upon the original, so it might not be worth double dipping, but for newcomers, it’s a real treat. Honestly, it was worth picking up for myself, because the original couldn’t play on the Wii U Gamepad. Now fans can have Tokyo Mirage Sessions ♯FE on the go, and they’ll have dozens of hours to kill with this title.

9 / 10.0 - Yakuza 0
Mar 9, 2020

Full disclosure, I’ve never played a Yakuza game before this one, however I was intrigued by the unique yet complex game series. So after playing for 50 hours, I can say that Yakuza 0 on Xbox One and Windows 10 is amazing.

Playing The Foundation gives me a lot of hope for the next expansion. If the Alan Wake connection is really going grow deeper, then it’s something I really look forward to. Hopefully I can keep my expectations in check, but I’m confident that Remedy can handle this. The Foundation makes that clear to me, and if the next expansion is even remotely as good as this one, fans have a lot to look forward to. This is an awesome expansion for anyone that enjoyed the original game, and it’s well worth checking out.

SEGA AGES Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is a major blast from the past. It looks and plays great, and it’s the right kind of way to release a new port. Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is just as enjoyable now as it was nearly thirty years ago when it was originally released.

Overall, Moving Out is a welcomed addition to one’s arsenal of co-op games. It’s not just a co-op, but a well-designed experience that puts a stress-relieving spin on a universally stressful experience.

Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition may not be a “new” game, but it’s definitely the best way to experience this story. Remaster or not, the quality-of-life changes and new epilogue make it a much more enjoyable time. While the game may take a few visual hits in portable mode, it’s still playable and helps to grind out that extra experience. With an incredible world to explore and several great characters, there’s no better time to jump into Xenoblade Chronicles.

9 / 10.0 - Tetris Effect
Jul 9, 2020

With fantastic music and a stellar visual presentation, this is an easy choice for any Tetris fan. I still find myself humming music from this game, even two years after the original release. Even without VR, this is still an excellent puzzle experience.

Overall, Ghost of Tsushima offers a beautiful and engaging experience, taking full advantage of its serene setting and gorgeous set pieces. Combat offers plenty of freedom and can be both intense and incredibly violent in some moments. It’s definitely outside of the box for Sucker Punch, but the gamble seems to have paid off

9 / 10.0 - Tell Me Why
Aug 27, 2020

When it comes down to it, Tell Me Why is yet another solid story from Dontnod Entertainment. It's groundbreaking in its approach to representation, and yet it doesn't make that the focus of the story. Of course, this won't be a game for everyone, but those looking for fantastic writing, fun pop culture references and emotional storytelling will be in for a good time. The amazing performances and music also make it a stellar presentation.

With an endearing story and much deeper multiplayer experiences, Marvel’s Avengers is well worth another look. It’s clear that this game is a passion project for fans, by fans. Even if you think the developers didn’t have the fans in mind, the game asks you to think again.

The effort put into remaking this game is remarkable, and the outcome is far more than I could have ever hoped for. It contains a plethora of content that will keep you occupied for months. Even if you finish collecting all in-game items, you can always relax with your friends in an online skating session.

When it comes down to it, No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle improves upon so much of what the first game started. It might not be perfect, and even a tad bit too easy, but it’s still an enjoyable experience. With a campaign just shy of 10 hours, it’s not a long one, but it’s well worth the $20 price. It’s raunchy, absurd, and incredibly crazy, but it’s an exciting rush of adrenaline that will likely excite fans for No More Heroes 3.

While the modern era story seems as crazy as ever, I’m honestly looking forward to more Assassin’s Creed again. I’m excited to see where the series goes next, but for now, I’m going to continue to expand my Viking reign and take my time enjoying the gorgeous vistas in this monumental game.

Overall it’s impressive how many experiences they have packed inside Call of Duty: Black Ops – Cold War. You get a full-fledged, amazing singleplayer campaign, a more than decent multiplayer, endless zombie fights, and a silly twin-stick shooter bundled together. Not all of them are perfect, but somehow it all still holds up pretty good.
