If the controls could be adjusted to be more forgiving with the timing, Ski Jumping Pro VR would be exactly what it needs to be. Unfortunately, given the circumstances, you may be better off forgetting the controls and simply watch a VR ski jump video. This game could’ve made for an excellent experience, but unfortunately, it’s simply too difficult to recommend as it is.
If you’re looking for a stroll down “Where’s Waldo?” lane, or you’re a fan of hidden object games in general, Hidden Through Time is solid. The experience is pretty mellow and is a nice reprieve from a lot of current games that can induce anger with their difficulty or be ultra competitive.
This game is a short and sweet reminder of why the One Punch Man IP is so popular, but there’s a lot left to be desired. A more refined combat system and a longer campaign would serve this title well. As it stands, the $60 price tag is far from worth it. If you love Saitama as I do, check this one out. If you’re a casual fan, give a few months to go on sale.
If you’re a fan of the series, it might be cool to give it a shot. Otherwise, if you’re simply looking for something new to play on your VR headset, it may be wise to avoid taking a trip to the good doctor.
Ori and the Will of the Wisps is a truly gorgeous spectacle of a platformer. The level design is fantastic and the variety in the gameplay keeps things fresh and invigorating. Gareth Coker’s music sets the mood perfectly, making the experience much more emotional and endearing. The combat keeps things challenging and allows for plenty of experimenting, and really feels like a progression to the Ori formula. Overall, this sequel reaches the bar the original game set, and climbs even further to make an incredible journey.
Full disclosure, I’ve never played a Yakuza game before this one, however I was intrigued by the unique yet complex game series. So after playing for 50 hours, I can say that Yakuza 0 on Xbox One and Windows 10 is amazing.
While it may not be a long experience, with a story lasting roughly a half an hour, Space Channel 5 VR: Kinda Funky News Flash! is still a groovin’ good time. The music and dancing is addictive fun, and it really challenges players to keep track of the rhythm. As far as VR games go, it’s one of the better games I’ve played, working well in both concept and function.
In the end, Bucket Knight isn’t a masterpiece and it doesn’t reinvent the wheel, but it has enjoyable moments. Unfortunately, these moments are brief, just like the game.
Overall, I came in knowing very little about Granblue Fantasy, and I came out not knowing much more. Despite this, Granblue Fantasy Versus is a unique and competent fighter.
Overall, One Finger Death Punch 2 is full of action and pleasing visuals. Unfortunately, there isn’t enough variety to keep the player coming back for more and more. It improves on the formula set by its predecessor, but doesn’t do a lot to distinguish itself.
In short, Dreams has been an honor to play. It’s a console-based creative suite unlike any that’s come before it. It has spectacular visual options, user-friendly controls, and literally endless possibilities.
Journey To The Savage Planet may not be the most unique title, but it is a delightful space themed romp. As someone who isn’t the biggest fan of this genre of media, it serves as one of the better examples of its field.
To sum up the 10th anniversary edition of Bayonetta, it’s the same classic from the last generation. The performance boost doesn’t only help the game look better, but play better as well, even if its showing its age. If you double or triple dipped before, there isn’t a real reason to play the game again. But if you are a true collector or you never experienced Bayonetta before, this is the version to get.
Fans of the original may love to stroll down memory lane again. You might not show up for the story, but you’ll at least stay for the gameplay. The high-octane feel of the ARS is still a blast to enjoy and it makes for a great part of the 10th anniversary bundle with Bayonetta.
When it comes down to it, Re Mind is here to explain the ending further, and even tease more of what’s to come. It was clearly added to give the player more challenge, and it definitely succeeds in that. Unfortunately, at the price point of $29.99, it doesn’t feel like it’s worth it.
With 40 different characters to explore, and a lot of variety with the V-System, fans can fight the way they want. Street Fighter V: Champion Edition is truly the definitive Street Fighter V experience. After four years, the game is finally at the level that fans have come to expect from this series.
It only slightly improves upon the original, so it might not be worth double dipping, but for newcomers, it’s a real treat. Honestly, it was worth picking up for myself, because the original couldn’t play on the Wii U Gamepad. Now fans can have Tokyo Mirage Sessions ♯FE on the go, and they’ll have dozens of hours to kill with this title.
If you take Just a Phrase for what it is, an easy, budget twist on Hangman, it won’t disappoint you. If you’re looking for a game with depth that’s full with features and variety, it’ll be pretty underwhelming. In the end, it’s a matter of what you’re looking for.
Tokyo Dark -Remembrance- tells a compelling, albeit disturbing story and gives players a pretty strong handle on how it will all unfold. There are a couple of visual issues, but they’re not so unforgiving to make you avoid the game. If strong storytelling interests you, and you like making choices that will dramatically shape the outcome of a game, then this one is definitely worth your time.
While it’s not perfect, Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is an incredibly enjoyable experience. Not just a retelling of the story, but ultimately the definitive way to play the Dragon Ball Z saga.
