Being able to play the game anytime, anywhere with cross-play and cross-progression, and being able to join your friends regardless of platform, is a fantastic feature. There will inevitably be some imbalances in the multiplayer, but with a little fine-tuning, I think I could return to multiplayer Gears sessions after all these years.

It’s not an unmissable classic, but it’s a game I’d recommend to those who love the genre to try. I’d also like to mention that while I was playing the game, I kept thinking how great this combat system would be in new God of War games.
