If you're a Batman fan with PlayStation VR, this game is likely already sat in your collection. It's a short, sweet, tour-de-force, tugging on those grapple-hook heartstrings forged from the original Arkham trilogy. For anyone else, it's a great introduction to VR but doesn't do anything to push the franchise or the platform forward.
The Dark Pictures Anthology: Man of Medan is a must-play for anyone that appreciates horror gaming at its finest, for anyone that enjoys picking away at how a game is put together, for anyone that's got even a passing interest in finding the best storytelling vidoegames have to offer.
Pillars Of Eternity is an absolute joy to play through. With the main campaign and two expansions included there’s well over forty hours of excellent RPG to get stuck into. It’s one of the Switch’s best ports because it’s one of this generations finest titles.
Control interweaves a superlative environment with brilliant combat and stellar map design. I just wish that the enemies were more varied at times and the story was a bit more compelling, but that doesn’t make the game bad at all. Control is a wonderful experience that any Remedy fan or supernatural connoisseur would enjoy.
Erica is experimental in design, and because of that, some things just aren’t going to work out as well as you would hope. But despite both its big fault and barely noticeable flaws, Erica is an interesting, immersive and well-realised experience.
To play Tetris Effect without VR is to attend the opera with earplugs in. In fact, Tetris Effect on PlayStation VR is arguably not something you play at all - it's an experience, albeit one built on well-trodden gameplay and a superlative soundtrack. It's synaesthesia incarnate, an orchestra conducted by the player, and well worth the price of admission.

Madden games on both the PS4 and Xbox One have been a boring digital microtransaction slog. There is more information than ever on the screen and depending on your preference it can either be informative or overwhelming.
Tetris Effect is a magical experience that you really need to witness to believe. It’s a jaw-dropping visual delight that everyone should experience.
It is what it is — a reasonably priced spin-off of the series that is not bad, it’s just limited in its scope and replay value, though your mileage may vary greatly depending on who you have to co-op with.
The soundtrack is also beautifully composed, and different sounds match the tone and vibe of different levels and constellations perfectly. It's another strong element that adds to the superb achievement that is Gravity Ghost.
As it stands, we think series veterans will be able to find enjoyment in this game, but we find it difficult to recommend it to newcomers.
The more you experience, the easier it gets, but it'd be easy to be turned off by the wealth of menus - although thankfully the game does try to unlock each portion at a time which is most welcome.
There are also some minor frame-rate dips in handheld mode when things get particularly flashy on-screen, but not enough to ruin the experience. The camera can also be a bit finicky in enclosed areas, but these are small nitpicks.
I found that 'Blazing Chrome' was best played with a controller. The D-Pad on my 8BitDo controller makes the game much better to play, especially when setting the angle for diagonal shots, but now with the Switch Lite on the horizon with its D-Pad on the handheld, this is almost a non-issue.
Some building games can get boring when you finish one project without another one on the horizon, but Dragon Quest Builders 2 always has something in store for you, and a lot of the time you'll never see it coming.
Final Fantasy XIV: Shadowbringers is a step above anything that has come before it. The perfect blend of captivating gameplay and a truly memorable story that rivals those heralded by fans for decades. It’s time to step out of the shadows and become what you must Final Fantasy XIV; the best MMORPG in the world.
Along with Kay, the player is subject to a rollercoaster of emotions, each of which is elevated due to the poignant soundtrack composed by Guy Jackson; a soring orchestral onset that isn't afraid to quietly hide in the background when it needs to.
Aside from technical issues, Bloodstained remains an excellent title. It's Castlevania in everything but name and fans of Igarachi's earlier work will find a lot to love between excellent combat and rewarding traversal. The Switch port is harder to recommend at present, but the game is likely to be among the console's best after a patch or two. Grab your pitchfork and torches, there's huntin' to do.
As it stands, we have a decent game that will give puzzle fans plenty to enjoy. And something for those looking for a unique spin on a growingly popular two-character formula.
