10 / 10.0 - God of War

Half-sequel, half-reboot. The return of Kratos comes with a new sidekick, in a new setting, in a new generation and with a new perspective. It’s one of the riskiest reboots in recent history for an high caliber franchise, full of ambition, that sets a new standard in narrative and action games. 10 / 10 - Devil May Cry 5
Mar 6, 2019

Devil May Cry 5 looks, plays and sounds as pitch-perfect as its bombastic soundtrack. It nails pretty much everything in every department. The combat is super satisfying, with a deep list of skills, abilities and attacks; the story is cheesy but engaging and full of twists; and it is one of the most visually impressive games of this year so far.

It took over 20 years, but Ys finally came to the fore. Lacrimosa of Dana is an excellent action RPG with a clever focus on survival that, unfortunately, it can't keep up to its completion. Ys VIII is essential for all fans of the genre.

Dragon Quest XI is not an RPG for everyone. It's a game that lives on its legacy and refuses to evolve with the genre, preferring to slow down its gameplay rather than completely transform it. If turn-based combat isn't your thing, Dragon Quest XI won't change your mind, but if you want a great RPG, with a charisma rarely found in the genre, and explore one of the most vibrant worlds we find on consoles, this is the game for you.

It is, without surprises, survival horror in its pure state. The remake of Resident Evil 2 is everything the fans would hope for a current-gen RE. It takes all the core concepts of the original and twists them with a new fresh take and some mechanics from the also excellent Resident Evil 7. Lots of jump scares, great action, stunning visuals and a lot of content to explore and replay.
