Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is a game you should buy just for the single-player alone. The multiplayer mechanics feel amazing like someone hit the refresh button for the franchise.

Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD's steady increase in difficulty and well-ported physics engine made it easy to jump right in and get that Super Monkey Ball experience that's been missing from my life.

8.5 / 10.0 - Disgaea 4 Complete+
Oct 29, 2019

Disgaea 4 Complete+ is a vast game and one that any fan of tactical RPGs should play. There’s no need to play the other titles to enjoy this one, so if this is your first time playing the series, then you’ll be experiencing one of the best.

6.5 / 10.0 - Close to the Sun
Oct 29, 2019

For anyone that plays lots of games, Close to the Sun is sadly not going to impress. While the aesthetics, graphical fidelity, sounds, and backstory does have the means to intrigue a lot of people, I feel that the average avid gamer will drop off after the first hour.

Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout’s focus on character and world-building is unlike anything found in the previous entries. These characters face some real hardships, and it became my personal goal to see them through until the end.

I have to admit the Corpse Party series is still managing to surpass my expectations, and while the first chapter doesn’t reveal too much about the story, I’m eager to have my questions answered.

9 / 10.0 - The Outer Worlds
Oct 22, 2019

Everything the player does leads up to an epic conclusion, but the little battles along the way leave a lasting impact as well. This game is more than just a beautiful space opera; it's a real RPG adventure that has finally brought the genre to a new height.

To my surprise, Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville is one of my favorite multiplayer shooters of 2019. I never thought I’d say that, but here we are.

9.5 / 10.0 - Indivisible

It's been about over four years since Indivisible's announcement, but I would have to say that the wait was worth it. Do yourself a huge favor and play this game.

While the journey is a little short, with its unique premise and gameplay, and unbelievable soundtrack and visuals, Sayonara Wild Hearts is the best and most unique endless runner I’ve ever played. It’s a beautiful work of art that needs not only to be played but also listened to and remembered for years.

AI: The Somnium Files is the standout game for me this year, and it was ultimately everything I wanted and more. I was afraid I was setting my expectations too high. However, this game took my expectations, loaded them into the cylinder of a gun, and shot them away into the heavens.

If I had to describe Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch Remastered in one word, it would be "magical". The game truly takes the player to a new world of exploration and discovery as you experience it through the eyes of a boy determined to fight for the ones he loves.

Utawarerumono: ZAN is a condensed version of must-read visual novel SRPG that doesn’t quite stick with you as much as the original. Sure, you’ll get the gist of the characters and the situation at hand, but nothing really stands out in the game storywise.

7 / 10.0 - Blasphemous
Sep 10, 2019

Most of my criticisms stem from whether or not The Game Kitchen focused on so much heavy lore that it affected the game from feeling more tangible or exploring more innovative gameplay mechanics. But if everything I said is not an issue, then you will have fun with this title.

8 / 10.0 - River City Girls

River City Girls is the brawler that the series needed to spark new interest in the franchise. WayForward took this classic IP and made something truly unique, yet still recognizable to long-time fans.

7 / 10.0 - Gun Gun Pixies

Gun Gun Pixies offers exactly what you’re looking for if you’re thinking about playing it and more. It is perhaps the lewdest game that I’ve played to come west on console and I ended up loving it for that.

8 / 10.0 - Blair Witch
Sep 5, 2019

I found Blair Witch to be one of the most stunning and scary games that I’ve played in a while, with the bonus of hanging out with Bullet. The thing I appreciated is that Blair Witch relies on creating an utterly creepy atmosphere instead of only relying on jumpscares, which there are plenty of.

Catherine: Full Body is the full Catherine experience and presents some of the best moments of gameplay and storytelling from any game I’ve played to date. The game’s newly added scenes and features will make it feel new to those who have played before, but if it’s your first time than you are playing the best version imaginable.
