XGN.nl's Reviews

Bandai Namco seems to want to rake in even more money with Sword Art Online Re Hollow Fragment with the same game that was also released on the PSP. The resolution has been bumped up a bit, but the game still looks ugly and has still taken a nosedive in terms of framerate. The game does offer a lot of content, but that content is not exactly fun to play.

Do you play Gears of War for single player or multiplayer? Probably a combination of both. In any case, the fact is that for 40 euros you get a top title that offers a lot of hours of entertainment if you play alone or want to do co-op. We think of that multiplayer as a dessert to a masterpiece.

9.5 / 10.0 - Rare Replay
Aug 3, 2015

Rare Replay is a collection for which you get an Xbox One. The game has an achievement score of 10,000 points and over 700 hours of gameplay. And all for only 30 euros. Searching around the internet shows that it is sometimes already offered for less. The price-quality ratio is of a level that we have not seen before. Absurd. Infectious. A must-buy!

9 / 10.0 - Journey
Jul 29, 2015

‎Whether it's the uniquely cooperative aspect, the insanely beautiful environments, the music that blends seamlessly with the gameplay, or a combination of all of this, we can't give you a warmer recommendation than to set off an evening for Journey. Turn off your phone, close the curtains and put on headphones and immerse yourself in this unique video game, which you simply must have played once.‎

2 / 10.0 - The Last Dogma
Jul 11, 2015

The Last Dogma is quite ambitious, if you look at all the influences from other games. However, the game fails at almost every aspect. Aside from the fact that it's almost unplayable, the story is the most lacking. This is especially bad for a story-driven game.

‎Everyone thought it couldn't be even better, but Rocksteady did it. Batman Arkham Knight is the last and also the best game in the series! Everything has been worked out down to the last detail and the game plays wonderfully away. This is an absolute ‎‎must-have‎‎ for your collection. The only thing we can say about Arkham Knight is: go and ‎‎buy‎‎ the game!‎

‎The vibrant world of The Northern Realms is so vast and includes so much content that you could dedicate a book to it. The leading RPG of the year has arrived, one that won't be matched, let alone surpassed, in the near future. Take that red marker and circle May 19, 2015, but in the agenda: that day, a new standard will definitely be set in gaming.‎

If you didn't have a reason to return to this cool racing game before, you have it now. In any case, we will be happy with these fantastic new jobs.‎

‎While these three points certainly depress the fun of the game a bit, Out of the Park 16 remains a fine baseball sim. The game is extremely well put together and is strongly reminiscent of that other popular management game due to its quality. If you're new to baseball or just want to try another sport, then Out of the Park Baseball 16 is the game for you. Even if you have to bite through a few sour spots.‎

9.5 / 10.0 - Grand Theft Auto V
Apr 16, 2015

‎Still, GTA 5 for the PC is without a doubt the ultimate version. The game looks spectacular and this time you're driving around with that song on the radio that you can listen to 30 times in a row. The controls with mouse and keyboard make it tricky for you at times, but you can set everything up to your liking or play with a controller. The only downside is in GTA Online where you sometimes come across bugs and glitches that were there on the consoles as well. Despite this, it's now time to play for hundreds of hours again and GTA 5 is hugely addictive!‎

9.5 / 10.0 - Bloodborne
Mar 27, 2015

‎Bloodborne tests your skills as a gamer immerses you in a wonderfully terrible dead-skinned world and above all ensure that you want nothing more than to play this game. We simply can't get enough of it. Bloodborne is one for in the history books.‎

Xenoblade Chronicles 3D makes the promise of the New 3DS' power a reality. It's marvelous to play such a huge game on a handheld, although it could have been a bit sharper. Nonetheless, this game is the same blockbuster as it was years before.

‎The story stands out from all the other ‎‎Zelda stories,‎‎the dungeons are old-fashioned high quality, and the masks give the game a new load of depth that we don't find anywhere else. If you're looking for another title for your handheld, let it be this one.‎

7.5 / 10.0 - Dying Light
Feb 3, 2015

‎Dying Light stands out from the other zombie survival games with the unique course element and if you play it together with others is certainly one of the better zombie survival games on that huge mountain. Maybe future DLC will prevent the game from being at the bottom of everyone's pile in a few months.‎

8.5 / 10.0 - Deathtrap
Feb 2, 2015

Deathtrap is a fresh combination of an action RPG and a Tower Defense-game. The game is quite challenging with a steep learning curve, but repays that with great mechanics, 4-player co-op and a cheap price.

8.5 / 10.0 - Kalimba
Jan 2, 2015

All in all, Kalimba is a very good 2D platformer. The difficult puzzles, the colorful and triangular world, Hoebear, and the constant thinking about how to move forward all ensure that you get a terribly expansive game. And that the co-op is only playable offline is just a small smear on an otherwise sublime platformer.

‎Nintendo had quite a bit to live up to. Since the announcement of this game, director Masahiro Sakurai has been throwing coals on the fire of the Hype Train with his ‎‎daily screenshots,‎‎teasers and cryptic comments in Nintendo Directs. The poor man has almost worked his way into the grave with the latest smash, but he succeeded; Super Smash Bros For Wii U is more than worth it. Super Smash Bros for Wii U is without a doubt the best game for the Wii U this year.‎

9 / 10.0 - Never Alone
Nov 18, 2014

‎Never Alone, or Kisima Innitchuna, is a game that is genius in almost every way. The Indie game offers you graphical splendor, insight into a different culture, a nice quiet atmosphere and very good gameplay. The unfortunate thing about the game is that there is not much challenge in the puzzles, although it is a bit tough sometimes.‎

‎It remains to be seen how smooth gta online's launch is, but other than that, Rockstar has made a better version of Grand Theft Auto V in pretty much all areas, and that's still better than almost all the other games on the market now in 2014.‎

9 / 10.0 - Shovel Knight
Nov 15, 2014

‎Still haven't played Shovel Knight? What are you waiting for! Shovel Knight is a great challenging game, not only for retro gamers but for anyone who loves platform games.
