In a nutshell, South Park: Snow Day! is a great game that offers plenty of the classic South Park humour on top of engaging and fun combat and an interesting main story. While it's quite short and strongly focuses on co-op which some may find as a drawback, I still think it's worth the 29,99€ price point.
Everything you'd anticipate from a revived classic is present in Contra: Operation Galuga, a game that successfully takes you back to the era of beloved gaming classics. Put simply, if you're an older gamer with fond memories of titles like these, you'll likely overlook some minor flaws and revel in the nostalgia that transports you back to your youth. On the other hand, if you're a bit younger, Contra: Operation Galuga might not stand out as an especially captivating title, as it targets a very specific audience of gamers with its visual style, music and gameplay. Despite this, Contra is a great video game and we're sure fans of the series will hold a special place in their heart for this one.
Expeditions: A Mudrunner Game proves to be a highly commendable off-road simulation, providing enjoyment for those who appreciate off-road driving or, like myself, individuals seeking a novel gaming experience. The game excels at immersing players in the challenges of navigating harsh terrains, successfully drawing them into the world of off-road problem-solving.
Last Train Home offers a blend of genres we didn't have before and does it fairly well as it presents us with an interesting adventure based on real-life events.
With all its strengths and a couple of notable weaknesses, Lies of P is a great game on our rating scale. It features such a dark, wonderfully crafted world that has plenty to offer to both souls like veterans and newcomers to this challenging genre.
Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon is a captivating mech combat simulation that will engage you with its immensely enjoyable gameplay while also frustrating you with its challenging difficulty and frequent deaths.
Atlas Fallen is an action-adventure RPG that evokes a sense of nostalgia for classic hits while also infusing the genre with a refreshing and unique touch.
Layers of Fear tells an incredible story of mental illness and tragic events set in a stunningly detailed world that won't scare you as much as you might expect.
Season: A Letter to the Future is built on a fantastic story that seems more like a well-written novel than a game. When we combine that with charming graphics and wonderful sound that create a relaxing mood, we get a game that is worth experiencing, maybe even more than once.
Soulstice is truly one of the best games I've played this year. It does many things right but doesn't have any real weaknesses. It plays well, looks stunning and has a pretty decent story to keep you going until the end. It's easy to recommend to both fans who love hack and slash titles and those who don't usually play such games. Overall, Soulstice is a pleasant surprise that you don't want to miss.
King Arthur: Knight's Tale offers a ton of fun in spite of the flaws that may be trying to drag it down. Knowing NeocoreGames' work from the past, these devs were capable of turning a mediocre release of a Warhammer 40,000 game into one of the best action RPGs available on the market.
Lumote: The Mastermote Chronicles is a breath of fresh air in the modern gaming world as it provides a unique sense of joy. I came out of my playing sessions feeling relaxed but also fulfilled, not wanting for additional challenge and completely stress-free.
I found The Witch Queen to be the best Destiny 2 expansion thus far, with the only real contestant being Forsaken, which is considered the golden standard among the community of what a good expansion looks like. As such, I would highly recommend getting the expansion.
Dying Light 2 is an improvement on the original in almost every way despite not being the game that we've seen several years ago. Some of its promised features feel downgraded but overall, it's a well-structured title with a stunning open world that is packed with detail at every corner.
Halo Infinite multiplayer is truly a love letter to old school shooters and a proper return to the qualities that originally made the series famous. Whether you are looking for smaller, more organised, matches or all-out warfare with vehicles, you have a lot to enjoy in this game.
Over a decade since the original dropped on Xbox 360, Remedy Entertainment's thriller-horror Alan Wake still has the capacity to outshine modern horror games that rely on cheap jump scares, leaving aside the most important aspect of a true horror story - creating an eerie atmosphere with excellent writing, story and characters.
F1 2021 doesn't bring many changes over F1 2020 but its additions are more than enough to make it feel fresh, engaging and keep our hands glued to the steering wheel for a long long time. It's the best that franchise has ever been and we strongly recommend it to all the fans of the highest class of racing out there.
Marvel's Spider-Man 2 stands as a nearly perfect game that would undoubtedly receive a much higher rating and secure my Game of the Year title if only the developers had taken a more daring leap. Despite this, it remains one of the best games I've encountered this year and is a straightforward recommendation for both dedicated fans and casual gamers alike.
If you seek a gaming experience that encapsulates the anxiety and dread reminiscent of a horror movie, where you find yourself as nothing more than helpless prey awaiting capture, then The Outlast Trials is the perfect fit for you.
Featuring a wide variety of modes, impressive graphics and compelling sound, Tekken 8 distinguishes itself as a standout in the fighting game genre.
