Turn 10 haven't raised the bar with this release - because they've already put it as high as it needs to be.
Everything the Wii U version was, plus a lot of what was missing.
Fundamentally there are improvements, but the game doesn't feel completely balanced as a whole and the pace of matches is sometimes uneven. It happens often between console generations and while FIFA 14 on Xbox One is certainly no cheap port of the current-gen edition - I can't help but think that the next rendition will truly take the franchise to the next level.
For a more arcade-style (but surprisingly deep) baseball game , check out our review of Super Mega Baseball! - Ed.
Why must you make us wait, Telltale? Why?!
My only fear going ahead is that the success of Resident Evil HD won't inspire Capcom to remaster Resident Evil 0, 2, 3, and Code Veronica, and instead read it as reason to make Resident Evil 7. There's room in this world for the new-style Resident Evil, but it should never be at the expense of removing classics from the selection.
Actually, screw(ball) it. Baseball is cricket's sexier, more confident, and more exciting older cousin, and is better in every way.
While the story mode feels like a missed opportunity, and minor issues on the periphery detract, Guilty Gear Xrd SIGN is still an impeccably polished, lavishly produced, and lovingly crafted fighting game – worthy of a spot on anyone's shelf.
I can't wait to see what lies in-store for House Forrester in the future episodes.
It's Madden season, and this is the best Madden yet.
I suppose, if I was trying to find a flaw and be picky, I would say that Child of Light feels like an incredibly good mobile game. But really that's such a minor criticism, I can't even put any weight behind my statement.
A Realm Reborn was already a great game when it launched, though it admittedly ran out of steam after a few months. Thanks to a bunch of content upgrades and a new level of sheen afforded by the PS4 hardware however, the game is easily one of the best on the market right now.
Tales from the Borderlands got off to a good start last year, and now that Atlas Mugged is finally here, the series has only gotten better. I hope the wait for Episode 3 won't be quite so long, but however far away it is, I expect it will live up to the anticipation. Atlas Mugged certainly did.
Hilarity underscored by humanity - a winning formula.
Minecraft isn't for everybody (fortunately, there's a free demo that you can try), but for those who will hear its call, it's easily one of the best games available on Xbox One. And even for those who don't catch the Minecraft bug, it's hard to argue that this is one of the most significant game releases of the last few years, and something for which gamers and the game industry, as a whole, should be grateful.
Seriously, if you love your role playing games lore heavy, challenging, and fun, you literally can't go wrong with PIllars of Eternity. With the amount of pleasure I've had playing this game, it can easily stand tall and proud as one of the most tactical, thought provoking, and enjoyable RPGs I've ever played.
The Super Smash Bros franchise captures Nintendo's videogame history beautifully and its arrival in HD means that you can now enjoy it in finer detail.
From the moment the game begins, to the moment the credits start rolling, it's obvious that Moon Studios were crafting this out of love. While most may play a second time to earn every achievement, many will just want to experience the fantastic presentation one more time.
Sunset Overdrive is a must for fans of fun, witty 4th-wall breaking, fast-paced, open world, third person, action genres. I couldn't recommend it more.
Heroes of the Storm isn't a perfect game - but it's not far off. The faults are minor and largely overshadowed by the many positive aspects. There really is very little risk in giving this game a go - it's free, the games are short and you don't have to take it completely seriously - and the payoff is well worth it, and more.
