While Jujutsu Kaisen Cursed Clash doesn't reach the highs of CyberConnect2's anime fighting games, it has a lot of interesting ideas and offers plenty of fan service for JJK diehards.

9 / 10.0 - Tekken 8
Feb 4, 2024

Tekken 8 isn’t just a joy to play, it’s the most content-complete fighting game I’ve played at launch in years.

9 / 10.0 - Persona 3 Reload
Jan 30, 2024

Remaking a legendary title is often a recipe for failure, but Persona 3 Reload lives up to its legacy and wonderfully updates the 2006 gem.

Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is a resounding success. Ichiban and Kiryu both go on incredible adventures that broaden their characters while simultaneously telling an exciting crime story spanning two countries. Featuring much more polished gameplay and an improved structure, Infinite Wealth is one of the best JRPGs ever made.

With better graphics, gameplay, and worthwhile additions, it’s an easy recommendation to pay and upgrade to The Last of Us Part II Remastered if you own the original. If you didn’t play the PS4 original, then it’s even more of a no-brainer, as this is one of the most polished and memorable games ever made. Not afraid to deal with dark subject matter and fully explore its characters, The Last of Us Part II remains a slightly flawed yet incredible experience.

8 / 10.0 - EA Sports UFC 5
Oct 27, 2023

While I do wish there were a few more single-player modes, such as a mode reliving epic fights or Octagon moments, the core gameplay in EA Sports UFC 5 is as good as ever.

While Avatar: The Last Airbender – Quest for Balance never really impresses, it winds up becoming aggressively fine as it goes on and expectations are lowered.

Never resting on its laurels, it’s clear that the series has the Mamba mentality to succeed.

The Dimension Shellshock DLC is a great addition to TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge. Both characters are meaningful additions that are fun to use, although Karai takes a bit more effort to learn, and the survival mode has me hooked.

7.5 / 10.0 - Fort Solis
Aug 26, 2023

Fort Solis isn't without its issues, but the sci-fi adventure game tells an interesting mystery and is unafraid to deal with ambiguity. Troy Baker puts on a marvelous performance that is likely the year's best in video games, and he has enough compelling material for it not to be wasted.

PGA Tour has a wonderful core that propels it past its uninteresting roster. EA Sports has created a solid base here that doesn’t feel hollow but can clearly be expanded in future updates or proper sequels. Either way, the team has given players a quality experience if they decide to grip it and rip it in the latest entry.

8.5 / 10.0 - Dredge
Apr 4, 2023

Dredge is a remarkable blend of polar opposite genres that benefit greatly when mashed together like this. It’s not the deepest fishing game nor is it the scariest horror game, but it blends these two distinct halves well enough so that it doesn’t rely on one tone or style for too long. And because of this, much like the aberrational fish that plague its sea, Dredge is unique enough to be quite the catch.

MLB The Show 23 is yet another triumph by San Diego Studio. The new Storylines mode should become a yearly staple as baseball has such a rich history to draw from and amazing players to spotlight.

5 / 10.0 - Tchia
Mar 20, 2023

As ironic as it seems, gliding around a tropical archipelago is a tiresome chore because of its empty world and how its core Soul Jumping power falls well short of its potential. Tchia may jump into souls, but Tchia, as a game, isn’t good enough to jump into any hearts.

Capcom fundamentally understood why Resident Evil 4 is a classic and used that knowledge to develop a scarier and more action-packed version of the game that also honors the puzzle-oriented nature of the other installments. The harmonious fusion of these pieces has made it the ultimate Resident Evil game, a top-tier remake, and an overall masterpiece.

7.5 / 10.0 - WWE 2K23
Mar 13, 2023

WWE 2K23 is a decent sequel that builds off last year’s foundation in several meaningful ways. MyGM has been heavily improved, and the two new story modes feature some interesting scenarios and carve just enough of their own new and interesting paths.
