It’s safe to say that the PlayStation 4 is going out with a bang. God of War Ragnarok is the last generation swan song and will be remembered as the final masterful sequel to one of the most important Sony franchises in history.

10 / 10.0 - Scorn
Oct 14, 2022

There is really not much to complain when it comes to Scorn. My only real gripe is that the adventure is over a bit too soon. If you are decent at solving puzzles and good at figuring stuff out quickly then you can get through this horror of a journey in roughly four to six hours with five most likely being the average length that it would take to beat the game.

10 / 10.0 - Elden Ring
Feb 23, 2022

Elden Ring will not only meet the fan’s expectations but surpass them in ways they didn’t expect. I believe that From Software will also obtain new fans as well and show the world what a well-designed open-world game can do. As previously stated, Elden Ring is a game that is begging to be explored and conquered at its full capacity. There is so much content here, and it is so good. The game is atmospheric, gorgeous in its way, full of badass lore, mystery, and secrets.

Death Stranding is a game that caught me by surprise, I am far from a Hideo Kojima fan and I was never overly impressed with the Metal Gear Solid franchise, but this game just hits different.

10 / 10.0 - Forza Horizon 4
Sep 25, 2018

Forza Horizon 4 is truly an amazing game with a ton of replayability and content to explore, whether it’s single-player or multiplayer. Players have a ton of events to complete, boards to crash through for game completion and influences, save up credits to buy the most expensive cars and all the real estate, and collect all the cosmetics.

Few games come close to the full package that is Ghost of Tsushima. From its story, gameplay, presentation, and developer dedication, it is a game that seemingly shouldn’t exist in today’s gaming climate – one rife with buggy launches, dishonest presentations, and microtransaction-heavy “features”. It is a breath of fresh air amongst games today and a proper showing by Sony that further strengthens its exclusive catalogue. It’s also a masterclass in technical prowess and display, showcasing Sucker Punch’s mastery and ability to deliver fantastic experiences across multiple generations of hardware.

9.5 / 10.0 - It Takes Two
Mar 24, 2021

In fact, every aspect of It Takes Two is designed for a pleasant and fun gaming session. The difficulty may spike at times, especially during the boss fights, but there is no real punishment for failure. Each session is relaxing and addictive, reinforced further by the reliable platforming and the rewarding puzzle design. At its core, It Takes Two is not a co-op game that ends friendships but instead strengthens them.

Demon’s Souls is now officially the new standard when it comes to game remakes. If any developer or publisher is interested in recreating a magical experience on a new generation of hardware, whether it be on PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X, then they need to look no further than Demon’s Souls.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War delivers on many fronts, but most importantly it is a lot of fun. It is a fantastic game to pick up for a brand new PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X. The game has something for everyone and it does not matter what the players might prefer. Whether they just like the single-player campaign, multiplayer, or Zombies – Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War has them covered. Every game mode had a lot of love put into it, particularly the stellar campaign and the refreshed take on Zombies.

Final Fantasy VII Remake is a prime example of a remake done right. It is able to capture the original’s magic while being an accessible and fun title for new and old players to sink their teeth into. Like the Buster Sword, which has inherited the hopes of those who fight, Final Fantasy VII Remake has inherited the hopes of all who await its sequel. It can’t come soon enough.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is the series’ return to fine form after five years of absence. The depth this game offers, on top of its pristine layer of polish, will keep players glued to their seats. This is the start of a vacation that will not be ending any time soon.

9.5 / 10.0 - Sea of Stars
Aug 28, 2023

Sea of Stars is a true spiritual successor to turn-based JRPGs that I believe any fan of old-school Final Fantasy titles specifically Chrono Trigger and Breath of Fire must play. I felt like I was teleported back to the PlayStation 1 days playing a classical turn-based JRPG.

Armored Core 6’s short missions, lack of an open world, and difficulty may not be for everyone. However, from my perspective, it was difficult to find anything negative to say about it. As someone who loves compact experiences with excellent gameplay, Armored Core checked all the right boxes. Not to mention the surprisingly compelling story. Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon gets a 9.5 out of 10.

9 / 10.0 - Hogwarts Legacy
Feb 6, 2023

Whether you are an RPG fan, like open-world games, or a Harry Potter fan – Hogwarts Legacy is a game that MUST be played. It packs a ton of replay value. It takes roughly 30 or so hours to complete the main questline and an additional 40 or so hours to finish everything else.

9 / 10.0 - MultiVersus
Aug 16, 2022

When this game was announced, and I heard it was free-to-play, I was extremely skeptical. Once I got my hands on the game earlier this week, I was pleasantly surprised at how good this game was. Multiversus feels like a breath of fresh air. It’s exciting to see something new in this genre after so many years of Super Smash Bros. Don’t get me wrong, I love Smash Bros, but there comes a time when you want something brand new in the same space.

Triangle Strategy offers a deal that few other SRPGs can boast in equal measure. A strong and compelling story, great importance in player agency, and accessible to veterans and beginners alike, with the sheer amount of paths to take in-game, the price tag is well worth every dollar.

Anyone who enjoyed Zero Dawn will find something to enjoy in Horizon Forbidden West. It’s so much better than the original with a great story, well-integrated side content, and impressive enemy design. It doesn’t reinvent the open-world formula, but that’s not always a bad thing.

9 / 10.0 - Sifu
Feb 7, 2022

Sifu does two things extremely well. The first of those is its callback to the old school era of Kung Fu movies I grew up on, with the second being delivering a brilliantly crafted and breakneck-paced combat system that manages to be enjoyed long after other elements of the game wear thin.
