Astro Bot takes the great inventive approach of the demo games and takes it to new heights. The result is fantastic and beautifully packaged in a full game with lots of surprises for Playstation fans. The game sounds nice and cheerful and looks fantastic. The game makes full use of all the features of the Playstation 5, game design is of the highest quality and the special powers are fresh and innovative. Astro Bot is a must-have for any Playstation 5 owner and it hasn't been since the Playstation 2 that Playstation has shown Nintendo how to make a 3D platformer.

Metaphor: ReFantazio is a great game and almost mandatory for fans of Japanese RPGs. With this game Studio Zero shows that they can easily address serious themes and make a game that is right on almost every aspect. It is a game with very small valleys and gigantic heights. Normally I would not quickly name a game of the year. For Metaphor: ReFantazio I make an exception for the first time. As far as I am concerned, this game is the game of the year in a year full of excellent titles.

If you don't mind this and are willing to take the time to fully immerse yourself, then Kingdom Come II is an unforgettable adventure. In a beautiful world where every inch seems hand-crafted and there is a huge amount to do, you can easily lose yourself for 100 hours and still not have seen everything. Warhorse Studios delivers a world-class performance here and could easily have delivered a contender for Game of the Year 2025.

Expectations were high after It Takes Two, but Hazelight shows that they really know what it means to create a cool co-op experience. The game is packed with diverse gameplay elements, cool visuals and an entertaining story. The big ambitions could have gone completely wrong, but the gamble pays off. This is the co-op game to play this year.

DOOM: The Dark Ages is perhaps the toughest DOOM title to date. The new weapons, especially the Shield Saw, are great. The story and the Slayer mythology are told in a cool way. The combination of brutal combat, immersive atmosphere and impressive level design make this one of the best single-player shooters of the year. Where other games stick to safe formulas, this game dares to do something really new, without losing that raw, tough DOOM feeling.

Spider-Man 2 does a lot right and it is therefore difficult to highlight the lesser points, which are also quite scarce. Spider-Man 2 simply builds on the previous parts, and therefore largely plays the same as what you are used to. You also notice that the citizens in the city often look the same and are considerably less detailed than main characters such as Peter, Miles and MJ. Is this disturbing? Absolutely not. Developer Insomniac would also be crazy to change the entire concept when it has worked so well in the past. This new installment does everything you expect and even more.

Spin Rhythm XD is a great music game with a controller, but a real game changer for the PSVR2. The game does everything right and includes every option you can think of to customize the game to your preference. It combines the simple capture of two colors of notes with the complexity of drumming along to the right rhythm. It is easy to play for a long time and easy to learn. If you have a PSVR2 then you really need this game.

A remaster can elevate a game over a game that was released later. That is certainly the case here because Horizon Zero Dawn looks like a freshly launched, new PlayStation 5 game that was fully developed on the newer console. Everything looks so great and sometimes you even find yourself standing on a mountain enjoying the view that awaits you again. The beautiful weather effects in the game's large map are all a feast for the eyes but also make the game more varied in terms of experience. The addition of more liveliness in the cities, the better NPC motion capture and the improved textures make the game razor sharp. Add to that the already great gameplay and the evolutionary mission structure that manages to offer constant variation and you simply have a perfect game. There are a few small details here and there that could have been polished up a bit more, but all in all this is a must-buy if you have never played the game before, whether or not you want to play it again, but then on the next-gen console or PC via an upgrade.

The package is gigantic and impossible to discuss in its entirety. This new part has become such a game that grabs you immediately and doesn't let go. The ability to customize your character in dozens of ways is nothing short of fantastic, and the story is told in an entertaining way. The most important thing about Diablo is collecting loot, and as soon as the first loot falls out of a box, the loot fever starts and you don't want anything else. All this is designed in one of the most beautiful games of the moment, full of detail and eye-catching environments.

Dredge itself is a great game that will give you at least ten hours of delicious H.P. Lovecraft gives horror. The life of a sailor and the dangers at sea in your small fishing boat fit perfectly with a horror theme. The gameplay is simple, so you can take your time. The atmosphere, the story and the presentation are rock solid. You really can't go wrong here. The expansion will merge invisibly with the rest of the game for new players. This will not be the case for players who have already completed the game. The best experience will be when you restart the game and Dredge is definitely worth going through in full again.

Building on the strong foundation the developers laid with Gris, Neva once again impresses with an emotionally charged story, beautiful visual presentation, and a captivating soundtrack. The game combines challenging platforming with simple yet satisfying puzzles and combat, all centered around the partnership between Alba and her growing wolf. While the pace could have been a little quicker for some players, the breathtaking art style makes every moment feel like a living painting. The few drawbacks, such as the repetitive death sounds and occasionally frustrating save points, do little to detract from the overall picture. Neva is a beautifully crafted game that not only challenges your skill as a player, but also touches your emotions. It is an interactive art experience that shows how powerful the medium can be, both in terms of gameplay and storytelling.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard is a triumphant return for the series, combining compelling storytelling, intricate character interactions, and action-packed combat into an RPG that feels both fresh and timeless. The game plays to BioWare’s strengths, creating an adventure that will keep fans and newcomers busy for dozens of hours. The world is super cool, and the regions all look completely different. The story is top-notch, the presentation is of an extremely high quality, and the combat is deep and tactical. It’s a shame that the dialogues won’t be equally interesting to every player.

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is the perfect PC port of a great game if you own the latest hardware and have never played the game. The studio Nixxes has delivered great work and this is the quality you expect from Sony. Every minute in this game is of extremely high quality and Ratchet & Clank series still guarantees a good experience. This is a game you use to showcase your latest hardware. But if you don't own the latest hardware, the question quickly arises whether this is a game where an upgrade makes sense or whether the purchase of the title is even worthwhile.

Final Fantasy XVI manages to wash away the foul aftertaste of Final Fantasy XV without any problems. It has become a much better game on all fronts. The story may start slowly and in the beginning does not feel very much like we are used to from the series, but once the brakes are off it does not stop. Many fans will immediately drop out because of the combat, because it should be turn-based. That does not alter the fact that the end product has become very good. I warmly welcome new fans who have become interested in the setting and combat. Don't let yourself be chased away.

Despite the negatives and criticisms of the game, this is still one of the best RPGs you can currently play on the Nintendo Switch. The game looks beautiful, tells eight interesting stories with eight different heroes and play styles and is accompanied by a wonderful soundtrack. The world now rewards the player much more for exploring and the grinding has been made a little less painful in this title.

It's been a long time since a game kept me glued to the TV for so many hours in a row and that's actually for a game that is quite simple in terms of RPG elements and gameplay. Each chapter lasts an hour and with 12 chapters you can calculate it. Add to that some optional side quests and you have a few extra hours. From the first minute you notice that the tension is already good, but it helps when you close the curtains, turn up the sound and especially play alone. The atmosphere is the strong point of Dead Space

If I didn't express my enthusiasm for Live A Live correctly with the account above, let me just sum it up. Perhaps it's a good thing that Live A Live never came out in Europe in 1994, because this remake has made me want to enjoy the genre again. It's a great game and a must for anyone with even the slightest interest in the genre. There are some lesser aspects, such as the combat, and some scenarios are a bit less than the others. Although that again depends on each person. The conclusion, however, is well worth the journey.

Mondealy is six hours long if you don't push through the dialogues too quickly and that's a lot of value for a game that only costs a tenner. The story, the characters and the gameplay are all very cool and the finish is of an unprecedented high level.

Explaining everything that is in Star Ocean: The Second R is a task in itself. It is a huge game with a lot of replay value, great options to customize your characters to your own wishes and a fantastic battle system. The only downside is the somewhat simplistic main story. This remake takes the original to new heights and modernizes sufficiently while keeping the charm of the original intact.

It is clear that The Last of Us Part II on the PlayStation 4 was already great. With its 20 hours of campaign, we are also very spoiled in terms of content. It is actually a miracle that they have only now released a remaster for the PS5, but I understand that they wanted to have part 1 fully ported first. The graphic improvements are good, but not always consistently sublime, the DualSense features are certainly an improvement and the extra content and game mode No Return are also fun for enthusiasts. The Last of Us Part II could hardly fail if you consider that they played it fairly safely and kept the general basis 90% the same. In addition, the game really doesn't seem to have any bugs. With the many hours you can put into the story mode, and yes, it is still great even if you have already played it on the PlayStation 4, you will not waste any money with this Remaster. However; If you have seen the game on the PS4 and have no desire to experience this great adventure again on the PS5, then the extra additions probably won't convince you enough to justify this purchase. It makes a difference that an upgrade will cost you a lot less, almost nothing in fact, so the advice should be clear!
