7.5 / 10.0 - MainFrames

A cute and short platformer about a nostalgic time, the game efficiently entertains and pays tribute to simpler times with a very charming visual style, even with a slight pacing issue.

9.3 / 10.0 - Two Point Museum
Mar 2, 2025

Two Point Museum is a really fun game with spot-on humor, reminding me of the older The Sims titles. It has some very interesting mechanics for the Tycoon genre and can keep you hooked for hours. As usual for the franchise, the game will likely receive many themed DLCs, as the museum concept offers great possibilities for expansions.

Monster Hunter Wilds is the ultimate evolution of the Monster Hunter franchise formula, mixing everything that worked in previous titles and taking it to the next level. It delivers a great story, extremely fun combat mechanics enhanced by the new weather system, a new layer of complexity thanks to the addition of the Focus Mode, beautiful graphics, and most importantly, it maintains the addictive gameplay loop that only the Monster Hunter franchise can provide.

The work done by Aspyr for the old Tomb Raiders is impeccable. The only downside is that, as they advanced in technical aspects, they ended up with the less interesting titles from the first wave of the franchise, which is not their fault, but rather a result of the original design of these games. For those who are true Tomb Raider fans and have the patience for the controls of these games, it’s still an unmissable trilogy to relive the nostalgia, even though they are not as good as the first three.

Sid Meier's Civilization VII succeeds in bringing a more accessible 4X experience for new players by simplifying some core mechanics that previously pushed away many newcomers to the genre. However, the new era system has brought with it a series of issues for campaign progression, making them repetitive and overshadowing the other positive aspects of the game.

Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii is an excellent game for those who have never played the franchise and want to enjoy a pirate adventure, and it's also great for long-time fans. It's fun, with one of the best gameplay experiences in a game of this theme and within the franchise itself. Goro Majima finally gets his well-deserved spotlight once again in the Yakuza series, and I hope he doesn't get sidelined again.

8 / 10.0 - Avowed
Feb 13, 2025

Avowed is a game with an expansive universe and an engaging story, complemented by solid gameplay and rich exploration. However, it fails to deliver overly simplified mechanics and an unbalanced difficulty curve, which undermines the depth of the experience.

With an artistic style and writing of excellent quality, fans of detective fiction and visual novels in general won't be disappointed with the delivered result. However, the game falls slightly short of reaching new fans of the genre by staying in its comfort zone when it comes to pacing and interactivity.

The highly anticipated sequel of the neighborhood hero delivers excellent gameplay and a very fun story, even with some missteps. The PC version fell short of expectations at launch, and an improvement is urgently needed.

Citizen Sleeper 2 is an engaging space RPG for those who enjoy games heavy on writing and narrative, but it falls a bit short due to its reluctance to better explore the visual aspect.

Synduality: Echo of Ada is a bold bet from Bandai Namco, bringing good ideas and a promising foundation, but it still lacks refinement. The gameplay and PvPvE combat are the highlights, but the various issues the game has significantly hinder the overall experience.

Ninja Gaiden 2 Black is the definitive version of the Xbox 360 classic, delivering the frantic and brutal gameplay of its original release with beautifully updated graphics and stable performance. Although it inherits some issues from the original release and introduces a few new ones, Ninja Gaiden 2 Black is the ultimate version of Koei Tecmo's great classic, revitalizing one of the best hack'n slash games of all time.

Star Wars: Episode I - Jedi Power Battles is a game with interesting ideas, but limited by its technical execution and lack of improvements. Recommended for Star Wars fans looking for a dose of nostalgia, but with patience to deal with the challenges imposed by its age.

8.8 / 10.0 - Robobeat
Jan 29, 2025

Robobeat masterfully blends the roguelike genre with rhythm games, combining the frantic and addictive gameplay typical of roguelikes with the flow of rhythm-based games. Using an exceptional soundtrack to unite them, Robobeat stands out as one of the most unique and fun games within the roguelike genre.

6.3 / 10.0 - Eternal Strands
Jan 27, 2025

Eternal Strands is a game that has many ideas, but they are hindered by poor execution. Perhaps the biggest flaw of the title is overindulgence, and trimming some of these many ideas and references within its own budget could have helped deliver a better result.

Freedom Wars Remastered masterfully remasters the cult classic from the PS Vita for the current generation of consoles, offering a very interesting and unique story, solid gameplay, on top of an addicting loot and endgame system that can entertain players for hundreds of hours. Unfortunately, the game lacks new content and inherits some of the issues that were present on the PS Vita, such as the sponge damage effect and the limited variety of enemies.

The continuation of the reimagining of Final Fantasy VII offers a vast world with a storyline and characters that are a joy to follow, and the few missteps in pacing and direction pale in comparison to how well this game succeeds in recreating a classic JRPG adventure.
