Justin Celani's Reviews
Valyria Chronicles remaster is an excellent addition to the PS4 library. Its turn based, real time antics are just as fun and challenging as ever before. If this is a player’s first time trudging into battle, expect to be blown away, as long as patience persists.
If we never get to step foot in Geralt’s shoes again, I’m fine with that. The time spent in his boots, the adventures had, the memories created, will stay with me forever
Kirby fans deserve to play this game, heck anyone one that is fan of this genre needs to pick up Kirby Planet Robobot if they own a 3DS. It’s one of the best games released this year, and while not totally surprising, at the same time it is. All this praise and I’m mostly referring to the single player main story, but with its bevy of other cool unlockable modes and the multiplayer party like games available, there is so much content here, it’s a great price for an absolutely jam packed 3DS cartridge.
Players looking for a great arcade online shooting experience really need to look no further. Killing Floor 2 is here to please.
Thumper is one of my favorite games this year, simple yet challenging, visually stimulating, and excellent sound use. Easy to play, hard to master is the familiar phrase that comes to mind. VR only adds to the experience, but even without that added element, the game shines
Even for veterans of the franchise, this isn’t a bad way to relive the experience all over again and gain trophies in the process. It’s a given that a ton of players have already experienced what the majority of this package contains but for those that missed out on the sequel, or perhaps somehow the entire package, Amnesia the collection is highly recommended for PS4.
The Walking Dead: A New Frontier is a great new entry in the Telltale franchise. Fans of the series should go into this not expecting much to change in the overall structure of story delivery and setting.
It's one of the best Assassin's Creeds games I've played, and probably one of my all-time favorites right after Black Flag and the controversial AC III. This one was worth the wait. Now time to get back to exploring another ancient tomb!
It might be a relic of old arcade fun, but there must be a reason so many people love it, and it seems truly good gameplay mechanics don't age if Windjammers is anything to go by.
If Skyrim has grown stale or doesn't hold interest to certain players anymore, the Switch version most likely won't do anything to win players back. Though for newcomers and fans that want to return, Skyrim is here, as a great as remembered, and grand scale adventure now in the palm of your hands.
For clever puzzles, simplistic yet intense action, interesting boss battles and fun co-op, it doesn't get any better than this.
Lifeless Planet is an absolute gem. While there might not be much reason to replay the game other than to re-experience the adventure, it's one experience I won't soon forget.
If you love exploration, mystery, even a sense of wonder and awe, The Vanishing of Ethan Carter provides all this and more. For the 4 to 6 hours the game lasts, it's definitely a memorable experience.
For low price and they fact all proceeds go to children's charity, you're getting one hell of a deal and supporting a great cause.
It might not be the hardest, longest, or most in-depth platforming game, but Tearaway is one world I can't help but want to revisit repeatedly, each time with a smile on my face.
Hyper Light Drifter is a sensory overload from a visual and audio standpoint. Add in the sublime gameplay, and even with its high difficulty and lack of direction at times and players are still left with a very satisfying game.
It's still Assassin's Creed to its core, and won't bring in any new people or those that completely have tired from the franchise. Yet I can proudly say Syndicate sits right behind Assassin's Creed 2, Brotherhood, and Black Flag as my favorites out of the franchise.
Vermitide is a great co-op experience. It's fun alone and competent enough to play through, but with online folks or friends it's even better, and where the experience truly shines.
[I]t's got an interesting story. It's got some really wicked visuals. The ghosts are creepy as shit. Some of the jump scares are pretty bad. And it just has this sense of creepiness that all the Fatal Frame games have had. So if you're familiar with this franchise, you're gonna be right at home. If you've never played 'um before, it's okay. The games kindof connect via some of the characters, but it's usually a completely new story, so you can jump right in this and still have a great time with it.
XCOM 2 is a fantastic experience, and one that retains all the elements that the original release on consoles brought while adding more. The setting for the story is fun, the idea of moving the mobile base around the world is interesting, and I had a grin almost the entire time I was playing the game. Head to head multiplayer is there also for those bored once the campaign is done, but the meat of the experience is the single player for me.
