6.5 / 10.0 - Infinity Runner
Apr 4, 2016

Overall, Infinity Runner isn't a bad game, and it can certainly be an enjoyable experience especially if you are a fan of the genre. Those who aren't too big on the genre may be able to find some enjoyment in the title as well, as the sci-fi setting keeps things interesting. The gameplay does get repetitive and hinders the game a bit, but it's a solid, if not unsatisfying, infinite running game.

All in all, I was pleasantly surprised with Reptilian Rebellion. It’s a simple, cheap, nostalgia-feeling arcade game that can be very addicting. A little more variety in the visuals and audio would have helped, but as it stands, if you are looking for a cheap and fun game, Reptilian Rebellion will give you a good bang for your buck if you enjoy high-score driven games.

7 / 10.0 - Boxboy
Apr 1, 2015

BOXBOY! is a solid puzzle game with touches of platforming mixed in that puzzle game fans should check out. It doesn't reinvent the wheel of the genre or leave a lasting impression, but it's a fun way to tease your brain and enjoy some clever puzzle designs. If you don't find yourself enjoying puzzle games, BOXBOY! will probably be a pass for you, but for those of us who enjoy a good challenge, BOXBOY! is a worthy addition to your 3DS eShop library.

7 / 10.0 - High Strangeness
May 13, 2015

High Strangeness was a game I wanted to love, but I ended up just liking it. The fantastic score and solid visuals can't make up for the short experience and that is quite the shame because what is there is really solid. If a sequel is ever considered, I would hope the developers would consider making a longer voyage. Fans of retro RPGs and Action-RPGs will find enjoyment here, but just don't expect it to last very long.

All in all, I had a decent time with Slender: The Arrival. It won't go down as one of my favorite horror games, but the experience was a fun one while it lasted. It's a bit short and there's not a ton of replay value, but Slender: The Arrival offers enough scares and at a budget price, is a no brainer for horror fans.

Excellent writing, impressive visuals, and great presentation save the game from the somewhat lackluster battle system and make it a solid game that will provide fun for fans of Mario games and the Paper Mario series.

That aside however, if you are a fan of either genre, there is some enjoyment to be had here. It’s not an epic RPG adventure, but more something lighthearted akin to the Fantasy Life on the 3DS. If you are looking for a decent JRPG with farming elements that blends together quite well, then Return to Popolocrois: A Story of Seasons is a solid pick up. If you are hoping for a heavy emphasis on one side or another, you may want to wait for a price drop.

Oceanhorn is an interesting game that some people will enjoy and some people will hate. The inspiration drawn from Zelda oozes all throughout the game, and that can be a bit off-putting for some. For myself however, I think Zelda-clones should end up becoming a new thing. Considering the amount of years we have to wait between Zelda entries, why not embrace games that capture the spirit of a classic franchise? Oceanhorn isn't original, it isn't perfect, and it isn't necessarily memorable, but not every game can be. It's a simple, fun Zelda-clone that will bring fans of the franchise great enjoyment in between sessions of Breath of the Wild.

7.5 / 10.0 - The Fall
Aug 28, 2014

Overall, however, The Fall was very enjoyable. For the $10 asking price, you receive a great story and solid game play in a four-hour episode. The game has a great ending that has me eagerly anticipating the next episode of the game.

7.5 / 10.0 - Sportsball
Nov 10, 2014

Sportsball is a game for college dorm rooms, with beer flowing throughout the night, and competition at its peak. Sportsball is a game for the family to play around the Holiday season to help bring them together. As lackluster as it is as a single player experience, it's that much more fantastic as a local multiplayer experience, and that simply cannot be denied. Gather some friends, family, neighbors, or even strangers, and give Sportsball a try.

7.5 / 10.0 - Splatoon
May 27, 2015

Many fans wanted Splatoon to be Nintendo's answer to Halo or Call of Duty, and I don't know if that is fair. If you are expecting that, Splatoon might not be the game for you. Splatoon is to shooters what Mario Kart was to racers: it emphasizes pick up and play fun. It's a fun and lighthearted game with some great mechanics and focus on elements of the shooting genre that have never been looked at the same way before. The world is alive with color and paint and is a treat for the eyes. While the initial amount of maps and modes may be deterring, the sheer fun of the game manages to outshine any strong negative feelings I had. It's not a perfect game, but it's fun: plain and simple.

7.5 / 10.0 - Watch Dogs
Nov 24, 2014

If you are a Wii U only owner, Watch Dogs is a decent buy if you want a GTA-like experience, but I'd wait for a used copy or a price drop. Although the driving hinders the game, good graphics and a decent amount of content make this a good, but uninspired game.

PAYDAY 2 on the Nintendo Switch is a very unique experience for the platform. The lack of voice chat hurts, and the game can be pretty repetitive at times in terms of what you do within the missions, but the game is undeniably fun, especially with friends.

If you are a Wii U veteran of the series, there may not be enough here to warrant a second purchase, but diehard Pokken fans will want to check it out. Pokken Tournament DX is another fantastic Switch release and a game that fighting fans will want to check out.

All in all, I've been really enjoying my time with Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers. If you aren't a fan of the genre, this won't be a game that changes your mind, and while some feel the price tag is a bit too high for the game, I've gotten a ton of enjoyment from it thus far.

8 / 10.0 - KAMIKO
May 2, 2017

Kamiko is a fun pick-up and play experience, with great visuals, good gameplay, and makes for a fun retro-inspired experience. It's worth exploring the game with each of the 3 characters just to see how different they actually play, which adds some replay value to the title. If you are looking for an inexpensive game for a weekend playthrough, Kamiko is a good pick.

The Binding of Isaac is a game I've honestly never played before. It seems like a game I'd enjoy, with it's dark humor and violence, but I never checked it out for whatever reason. So when The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth+ was announced for the Switch, I really didn't pay too much attention to it. However, when Nicalis announced the game would have a physical release that actually included a manual, I decided to pay some more attention to the game. After debating, I finally picked up The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth+. So, am I happy with my decision?

Chibi-Robo! Zip Lash is a solid game that was a very entertaining experience. It's not a ground breaking revolution in gaming, but not every game has to be. It's fun, easy on the eyes, and the gameplay is very well crafted. It's a shame that Nintendo said this could be Chibi's last adventure if this game doesn't sell well, because I think this is the most enjoyable Chibi-Robo game yet. If you plan on picking it up, do yourself a favor and get the amiibo bundle. Even though I'm not the biggest amiibo fan, the quality on the Chibi-Robo amiibo figurine is outstanding. If you are looking for a quality 2D adventure, and enjoy being a completionist, Chibi-Robo! Zip Lash should be on your radar. Chibi whips it, and he whips it good!

With superb writing and fun combat, Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam is another solid addition to the series' lineup. While the game does seem to lose focus once in awhile, and capturing Paper Toads can get very tedious, the addictive battle system and great presentation more than make up for it. Fans of the series and newcomers as well will find a lot of enjoyment with Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam.
