Erren Van Duine's Reviews
An ambitious but flawed RPG experience.
Broken Age is a wonderful experience that I can't recommend enough. As someone who grew up on the LucasArts-style adventure games of old Double Fine has pulled through with just enough nostalgia and modern aesthetic, offering up a fresh and funny classic in an age where blockbuster games rule the roost.
For what it is, Jamestown+ is a fun game worth its asking price on the PlayStation Network. If anything, it's a fun little distraction calling back to the classic games of yesteryear. Fans of bullet hell certainly won't be disappointed.
These ideas are certainly the products of portable limitations, but in the end they fail to stifle what is in truth a compelling experience.
It's easy to recommend Q*Bert: Rebooted to both returning fans and new ones alike. The PlayStation release allows for choice of play either in its classic mode or the more modern version for those who want something a little easier on the eyes. The additional challenges in the Rebooted mode do provide some extra game time, but if you're looking for something a little deeper this isn't quite it. Q*Bert: Rebooted may be a simple game from another era, but its pick-up and play nature can certainly still be relevant today.
The legacy of Final Fantasy music has never been brighter.
Lightning Returns, but you might well be better off remembering her as she was.
