7.2 / 10.0 - Super Bomberman R
Mar 31, 2017

Super Bomberman R doesn’t do anything incredibly unique as far as the series is concerned. Fans of Bomberman will want to pick it up though, since its still a rip-roaring good time with friends.

Breath of the Wild is, without a shadow of a doubt, an experience that all players should experience.

Dungeon crawler fans will have a ton of simple fun with MeiQ: Labyrinth of Death. Having another good game for the criminally underrated PS Vita is definitely a benefit.

Fairy Fencer F Dark Advent Forces feels like a visual novel stapled to a JRPG, making for an odd homunculus that just can’t compete with other titles in the genre. I can only recommend this one to those who already have sunk hundreds of hours into similar games.

All in all, anyone wanting to know how not to make a platformer should play Rad Rodgers. It's a surprisingly good example of all the wrong ways to go about it. Anyone else should probably avoid this title.

I think as long as I can physically play games, I’ll be playing the Binding of Isaac, a timeless classic with layers of meaning and importance. Congratulations McMillen, Himsl and the entire Nicalis team, you’ve made a masterpiece.

Shantae: Half Genie Hero is a fun platformer with a lot to love. Shantae continues to prove her worth as an important character in gaming, eager to stand alongside characters like Mario or Mega Man. It’s definitely a game that will stand the test of time, many years from now as a classic.

8.2 / 10.0 - Let it Die
Dec 18, 2016

It will be interesting to see how this game evolves over time, as continued support will definitely prolong how long hardcore players will continue putting in hours. I have certainly enjoyed my time with it and it’s something I plan on loading up regularly.

9.6 / 10.0 - Final Fantasy XV
Dec 10, 2016

Final Fantasy XV is an incredible journey across a unique world with interesting, fairly layered characters and awe-inspiring moments of epic visuals. It is a must play for fans and newcomers to the Final Fantasy series, and while it almost satisfies that expectation that comes from ten years of development, it just simply isn't perfect. Although, Noctis' story will live on as a highlight in the Final Fantasy anthology for many years to come.

For gamers who miss the simple days of Playstation era action and adventure, check out Gurumin 3D: A Monstrous Adventure. Just consider playing it on Steam instead of the 3DS.

Quest of Dungeons does everything right; it just doesn't do anything outstanding.

Yomawari: Night Alone is a unique example of Japanese horror on the Vita, but there are some lacking areas in its design. Even with that, I wholeheartedly recommend picking it up.

Overall, if you find the older versions of Modern Warfare a bit aged and really want to get back into the multiplayer on the new consoles, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered might be a perfect reason to go the extra mile when purchasing Infinite Warfare.

Gunvolt 2 is more like an introduction to the action-platformer genre and less like a tribute to those classics of the past. Visually, the game has a lot to love and I can definitely recommend this one to fans of the genre or players who have never tried a game like this.

As for Rise of Iron, if you’re a Guardian itchy to pull the trigger a bit more or if you want to reunite the old Fireteam, it’s a must have.

5.2 / 10.0 - Strike Vector EX
Sep 28, 2016

I would love to see this universe expanded upon. Put this level of gameplay mastery into a world that's as interesting as say anything Gundam or Evangelion and Ragequit Corporation could have a manifesto on their hands. In its current state though, Strike Vector EX will sadly be forgotten, only to be remembered years from now on a "Top Ten Obscure Games" list.

Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past is a charming re-imagining of an RPG classic lost to the annals of time that is full of clever surprises in its complex themes and solid gameplay.

Those looking for an interesting Roguelike that focuses on RPG mechanics alone will love Tower of Fortune, while those who need more substance in their RPGs will find moments of boredom and confusion.
