7 / 10.0 - Demon Pit
Dec 29, 2019

Demon Pit works well as a game but just doesn’t offer much to players outside of just being an arena shooter.

Demons with Shotguns will make a good addition to any player’s library who is a fan of local competitive multiplayer titles. If you’re a solo player though I can’t recommend it based only on the End of Times mode. If the game had bot support for the other modes it would help but sadly it doesn’t. The variety of modes and tarot card system makes this a worthwhile purchase to those with the local friends to play it with though.

8.5 / 10.0 - Cardpocalypse
Dec 20, 2019

Despite some repetitive side quests Cardpocalypse is a great little card RPG. The 90’s nostalgia that it oozes with really played to my liking and the card designs and gameplay along with the writing kept me playing to completion. I think you’ll get the most enjoyment out of it if you were around in that decade like me but if you weren’t there is still a lot to like here. It’s for sure one of the most charming apocalypses you’ll experience.

7.5 / 10.0 - Tools Up!
Dec 13, 2019

For fans of local multiplayer games like I am you’ll probably find enjoyment in Tools Up! especially if you’re a fan of Overcooked. I highly recommend you only get this if you have others to play with though as it just isn’t as fun playing solo.

Story of a Gladiator might not be remembered like the classics it was inspired by but it’s a pretty good beat-’em-up in its own right. The combat is smooth and responsive and it’s fun to level up your character and use new weapons and abilities to smash apart enemy gladiators. It does get to be a bit grindy at times and has some visual hiccups but if you can look past that you’ll enjoy this trip to the arena.

6 / 10.0 - VR Ping Pong Pro
Nov 21, 2019

VR Ping Pong Pro is a big step up over the original game visually but the physics still not feeling right make it hard to give this one a sure fire recommendation to. You’re also going to be stuck mostly playing against the CPU as no one is really playing it online right now. Hopefully some patches can come along to make the game feel better to play but for now approach this one with caution.

Narcos: Rise of the Cartel is a solid turn-based strategy title that fans of the show and fans of the genre in general will enjoy.

Even once I finished it I was still wishing there was more to do and that should be endorsement enough.

If you can look past the gameplay problems you can easily get a couple different playthroughs in with this unlucky blacksmith.

Overall I came away from Atelier Ryza very impressed and I think longtime fans and newcomers will be very happy with this game. The change to a more real-time combat system is good choice to me as it made battles far more engaging. Likewise some of the changes to the alchemy system make it more approachable to series newcomers while still having depth for those who are into this franchise. The graphics are beautiful and the story was satisfying despite taking a bit to get going. A few things here and there can be improved but overall this is an excellent new entry in this long running JRPG series.

I enjoyed it for what it was but I do wish the world had more to do in it and that it wasn’t over quite so soon.

8 / 10.0 - Cat Quest II
Nov 4, 2019

This isn’t a game for those who like deep combat systems or a deep story in their RPGs. Rather it’s a game with a colorful world, well designed characters, and great sense of humor that anyone of any age can sit down and enjoy.

9 / 10.0 - Worse Than Death
Oct 31, 2019

There really isn’t much more I can say about Worse Than Death other then that you should pick it up if you enjoy horror games. It has a very appealing price point and you can enjoy it’s horrific pixel art world and story in just a few hours.

8.5 / 10.0 - Raging Loop
Oct 28, 2019

This is a long game but I just kept on playing it because I was just so into the idea and mystery behind it. I’ve never been into Kemco’s other types of games but if they keep on making things like Raging Loop then count me in.

If you’re looking for a solid little shooter to kill some time with then Door Kickers: Action Squad is worth a look. The option to play with another player either locally or online is a great addition and the game is much more fun when doing so as it can help from the repetitiveness of the game from sinking in.

8.5 / 10.0 - Megaquarium
Oct 19, 2019

Despite some nitpicks with the visuals in the game Megaquarium is a great addition to any tycoon fan’s library. The transition to console feels natural and great thanks to an intuitive control scheme and the game will keep you busy with a huge variety of aquatic life and items to grow your aquarium with.

5 / 10.0 - AeternoBlade II
Oct 19, 2019

Sadly if you didn’t really enjoy the first AeternoBlade I’m not sure you’ll like this one much more. The story will be confusing to anyone who didn’t play the original and even to someone like me who did it still wasn’t very interesting. The bad writing and voice over work just further drags the story down.

The beautifully drawn visuals and soundtrack that always seems to fit what is going on further makes this a standout visual novel. If you enjoy this genre this is one you shouldn’t miss.
