2 / 10 - Hot Rod Racer
Aug 31, 2016

Hot Rod Racer has no personality and its gameplay mechanics are simply frustrating and not fun. There are few objectives, its tracks don't motivate the player to go forward and the vehicle's hitbox makes everything more difficult. A clear case of a game designed for the mobile segment which has no place elsewhere, no matter how low its selling price is.

Journey to Kreisia is an RPG whose formula has been repeated over and over, which does not necessarily mean it should be shunned.

7 / 10 - Ziggurat
Aug 16, 2016

Being a short and intense game, Ziggurat gives many incentives to be played again and again and only suffers from some technical flaws in its Wii U incarnation which nevertheless don't stand in the way of an addictive game.

The Book of Unwritten Tales 2 brings back point-n-click adventures to the Wii U in a game that offers well-written dialogues and plenty of humorous situations in the background of a visually rich and polished environment. Despite the lack of interaction through the GamePad, The Book of Unwritten Tales 2 is a game that will certainly please fans of the genre, after the dearth of point-n-click titles over recent years.

Zero Time Dilemma is nothing short of a world class conclusion to the Zero Escape trilogy, thanks to its excellent narrative, its interesting and very developed cast of characters and a marvelous audio environment. While not all of the trilogy's loose ends are brought together and its visual environment could certainly improve, this is a game that is compulsory for all the series' followers as well as to virtually anyone else.

Futuridium EP Deluxe is a fun, slick and addictive score-attack shooter that shows excellent production values and is simple enough to get the players' attention immediately. While the difficulty curve can get too steep by the end of the game and sometimes, the depth perception would need slight adjustments, this is a game that is recommended to all those who enjoy fast-paced, fun experiences and who derive a huge sense of satisfaction from improving their high scores.

Reptilian Rebellion may feature a funny concept interesting enough for a title of this dimension but the game has nothing else going for it, as its interface and visual appearance are below the acceptable standards and its gameplay quickly becomes way too dull, even for an eShop title at this price. There are several better alternatives in the Wii U's digital catalogue for this style.

Fire Emblem Fates: Revelation, the final chapter in Fire Emblem's new trilogy closes the history of this new opus and provides a very sharp gameplay with a marvelous visual environment. Players who are looking forward to a rich and well-crafted plot, though, might find themselves disappointed, as Revelation rather stands out in the gameplay front and its new scenarios end up falling behind expectations.

Asdivine Hearts is designed in a way to appeal to the nostalgia of 8 and 16-bit era RPG games and it does a competent job at that, with interesting characters, fun dialogues and long hours of gameplay for those dedicated enough. It doesn't stand out much further than that, though, as its plot feels rather uninspired and the whole visual atmosphere could have used some improvement.

Chompy Chomp Chomp Party is a simple but fun and addictive party game that will bring back many memories of Pac-Man. It's not very ambitious and could have more content but this doesn't stand on the way of a nine-player experience that will get groups of players around the Wii U for some very fun moments.

Fire Emblem Fates: Birthright could very well be an outstanding chapter in a series that is cherished for its narratives and gameplay mechanics. Unfortunately Birthright falls down before it reaches its goal. Its very good production values and sharp combats openly clash with an uninspired and dull narrative, poorly implemented difficulty curve, generic and empty characters and the simple fact that it just doesn't work as a stand alone game in the first place.

2 / 10 - STEEL RIVALS
Apr 20, 2016

Steel Rivals comes off as a game which was not finished and simply not ready for a home release. This is a technically blotched effort that is unable to keep a minimum standard of visual stability, let alone offer a fun and compelling challenge. Add to this the dearth of visual stimulation, the disproportionate gap between the characters' capabilities and the complete lack of help or explanation given to the players and the result is a game that is simply not fun to play at all.

Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games is a party game featuring a rich cast of 40 characters from the worlds of Super Mario and Sonic, who battle themselves through the Olympic events. Unfortunately, a set group of characters is limited to certain events, the story mode is short, flat and somewhat uninteresting.

2 / 10 - Joe's Diner
Mar 30, 2016

Other than an original concept, the game suffers from a lack of identity and overall guiding principles, poor execution, a sub par visual environment, a dull and repetitive gameplay and does not satisfy or fulfill the criteria for any type of game the players are looking for.

4 / 10 - Alphadia
Mar 28, 2016

While its gameplay is obviously based on the games that inspired it, Alphadia does not provide anything groundbreaking which could set it apart from other games of the genre and the lack of development of the characters or of any other of its elements condemn it to being a rather shallow effort which would greatly benefit from one or two new gameplay mechanics.

7 / 10 - Stella Glow
Mar 20, 2016

All this cannot save it from being covered head to toe in the usual JRPG clichés, with flat uninteresting characters and very a predictable plot. Had these structural issues been addressed, Stella Glow could be a landmark in the 3DS catalogue. Instead, it's held down to being just a good game which doesn't fulfill its true potential.

Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty is a competent port of a fun, creative and original game which despite its almost 20 years of age, still holds on today. There are occasional bugs which should be corrected but the experience is overall marvelous and a very good example of how to blend a 2D platformer with puzzle-solving challenges.

5 / 10 - Temple of Yog
Mar 9, 2016

Temple of Yog has some interesting mechanics and it presents a gameplay that is simple, yet effective for a game of its kind. Unfortunately its levels fall into repetition and the lack of depth of its exploration means that it will quickly lose appeal to anyone other than the most determined players looking for a retro-style game that involves fighting within dungeons.

Level 22 brings an original concept implemented through interesting mechanics. Its visual environment is comical and overall appealing to the eye, but its musical counterpart falls behind expectations. While Level 22 is entertaining it's not free from falling into a pattern of repetition.

Feb 13, 2016

Presenting itself as a large dose of fan service, with fun combat sequences and a very good cooperative component, it fails when it starts to get too repetitive and simplistic and its level of challenge comes off as not balanced enough. This intersection between Final Fantasy and Monster Hunter will mostly satisfy the fans of the former but disappoint those of the latter.
