Kaveh Eskandari's Reviews
Risk of Rain 2 is one of the finest repeatable experiences of recent times. The amalgamation of Dungeon Crawling and Third Person Action works seamlessly and drags the player into a world they can hardly exit.

With a deep storyline and a mixture of different gameplay styles, Indivisible is an innovative and fun experience with the sole blunder of the abysmal control scheme.

Smart, brutal and occasionally unfair, Blasphemous is a relatively conservative take on Metroidvania that is still very much worth playing.

Gibbous - A Cthulhu Adventure is a quality title which offers engaging story, wonderful visual design, and most importantly remains loyal to its source. Obviously some issues and problems are here and there that might hurt the experience a little especially for hardcore adventure fans, but overally I would definitely recommend it.

Blazing Chrome is a classic shooter that might not be appealing to the newer generation of gamers, but it's perfect for old school shooter fans or those who are willing to give it a chance.

Octopath Traveler is an appealing title full of pleasant little stories, and offers solid combat mechanisms. However, some not-so-up-to-date decisions prevent it from reaching its full potential.

Warhammer: Vermintide 2 is a precious title who aims for a specific type of gamers, those who are ready to sacrifice everything in order to just have fun with their friends, and that fun factor is exactly the reason why you wouldn't care about the game's problems that much.

Mordhau can be considered one of the best online titles in recent years, offering a deep and satisfying gameplay specially for the fans of one on one combat, and while issues can be seen here and there, nothing is serious enough to affect the the whole experience.

Imperator: Rome is the natural next step in the evolution of titles made by Paradox Development Studio. It does not offer much innovation, but what it does, it does really well. deep and multi-layered gameplay system is sure to both engage and excite the player to a great degree. However technical issues prevent this otherwise great title to reach its full potential.

Truberbrook is definitely the best looking adventure game to date, and thanks to its wonderful music and sound design, it is a great choice for fans of the genre. That said, issues in story-telling and some weird puzzles prevent it from becoming a new benchmark for adventure games.

Although Fimbul has a great universe to explore and some fun gameplay elements, it still fails as a package. The gameplay is good but short, the story is not so appealing, combat is repetitive and the game suffers from tons of technical issues, and the only ones who will probably enjoy Fimbul are the hardcore fans of Scandinavian myths.

Tannenberg is a good FPS in general that has things to say in World War 1's not so busy market, and it can even satisfy fans of realistic shooters too. However, some technical and design issues prevent the game from reaching its full potential.

Deep, engaging and teeming with content, Battlefleet Gothic: Armada 2 is one of the best adaptations of Warhammer 40K in the recent memory. Epic battles and competitive nature of gameplay will keep fans of both Warhammer and Strategy games on their toes. Newcomers should be careful however, as game's complex mechanics may not be suitable for those unfamiliar with the genre.

My Time at Portia may not be the most creative indie game of recent times and it also may not be free of flaws, however it is so full of content and enjoyable that it is easy to forgive a relatively small team for their intermittent mistakes. My Time at Portia shoots for the moon and lands there save for irregular hiccups.

Despite some technical setbacks, the 3rd release in the Darksiders series is exactly what the fans enjoyed from the previous installments. Solid gameplay, great character design, lots of different content types and that unique feeling that the series is known for, all of which help Darksiders III to overcome its technical problems and to stand up as a strong Action RPG.

True to its roots and genuinely creepy, Call of Cthulhu manages to catch the essence of Lovecraft among its mist riddled streets but is plagued by various technical and at times narrative problems.

Original Sin 2 is one the best games in the recent years, and one of the most complete RPGs of all time, period. Everything a hardcore RPG fan would want from a game is on offer here, and you can barely find another title that mixes the classic table-top Role Playing elements with digital media so ingeniously. Not only for RPG fans, but for everybody else, Original Sin 2 is one of the best choices of 2018.

Shape of the World is not exactly a video game, it’s a digital art, and is not made for those who are looking for an engaging gameplay or an appealing story. But those who are looking for a couple of relaxing hours, will definitely find a thing or two to enjoy.
