Nazih Fares's Reviews
Yoku's Island Express is a must-have on the Nintendo Switch. It's a fun fusion between a pinball game and Metroidvania, with great lifespan and innovative gameplay mechanics. Get it now, you can thank us later!
Vampyr is a fun action RPG that dives deep into horror lore to put you in the shoes of a brooding newly minted vampire who explores the dismal streets of Victorian London. You can build up an impressive array of abilities throughout, and by the end, you’re one tough undead fellow.
Runner3 is an amazingly crafted arcade experience that’s perfect for short bursts of hair-pulling runny goodness. It sticks to the Runner formula and it doesn’t do that much to change things up, but it does push all the dials up to 11, and the result is a really layered arcade title.
Now available on the Nintendo Switch, The Banner Saga is the first part of a trilogy that lays the foundation for a great story, a complex turn-based tactical-RPG and a wealth of content. It's an excellent pick for fans of the genre who are not afraid of the slow pace of the game.
Dark Souls: Remastered is a reminder of how much the trilogy has grown over the course of 7 years. This version is a massive enhancement in terms of framerate, resolution, multiplayer, technical assets, and still as demanding as it was in 2011.
If this sequel improves on numerous points, The Fall Part 2: Unbound isn't technically better than the original game. However it doesn't prevent players to have some continuation from The Fall, and hopefully, we'll be getting a third chapter to close the loop soon.
Remastered for the Nintendo Switch, One Piece: Pirate Warriors 3 - Deluxe Edition is a fun way to rediscover a solid Musou on the go with enhanced features. While it's not as large in content as Hyrule Warriors or Dragon Quest Heroes, it's a great experience especially if you're a fan of the One Piece Universe.
Now available on the Nintendo Switch, Little Nightmares is heavily inspired by the work of Playdead, and while it's short even as a Complete Edition with all previously launched DLCs, it's a solid adventure with striking artistic direction and a dark story to tell.
Even if it faithfully portrays the animated series' essence, Little Witch Academia: Chamber of Time merge two different game genres without truly making a successful blend. The dungeon-crawling part poses no real challenge thanks to exploitable flaws, and the adventure part is rather simplistic. If you're not a fan of the franchise, I don't expect you will really like the game.
Destiny 2: Warmind was a chance to regain the trust of Destiny fans, sadly like the previous one is just subpar. Individually set at $20, the content is not worth the price tag, you will probably fall quickly in the same routine, and will be left with 1-2 month saying simply: now what? I'm extremely worried about the franchise now and really hope this is not the road Bungie is going to keep on going with.
With Forgotton Anne, Danish-based ThroughLine Games have managed to take the player in the heart of a narrative adventure, with neat gameplay mechanics, but could be too easy for most playerss
Now available on the Nintendo Switch, The Fall is a neat tribute to old-fashioned point and click, but also an engaging narrative and deep adventure that should be worth your time.
Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Storm Trilogy is a fine way to discover this franchise for the first time, or play again the original 3 remastered titles on the go, in one greatly priced package. While there's nothing new added, it's still a worthy purchase if you want a fun and easy to play a fighting game on the Nintendo Switch.
Even if it's developed by just a single person, A Robot Named Fight! is a great example of what passion and dedication in gaming design can accomplish. A must-have in the Metroidvania and Roguelite genre, especially if you want to play it on the go thanks to the Nintendo Switch.
With this new God of War, Santa Monica Studios managed to perfectly refresh the franchise without losing its essence, making it the best entry ever made. While veterans might feel overwhelmed by all the changes, they will easily get used to it, and will play one of the top 5 best looking games on the console.
While the recipe is different with its noir-style comic storytelling, Metropolis: Lux Obscura is just a simple Match 3 that ends quite fast. For the price asked, I can't really recommend this game.
Atelier Lydie & Suelle switch to a twin heroine concept is both funny and entertaining, but the game overall is technically outdated and doesn't add much in terms of gameplay from its predecessors.
If you hope of a thrilling adventure with intense battles against giants with EXTINCTION, then I hope you're ready for the disappointment. The race against the clock aspect of the game really kills all the interest and the pleasure to face the giants, and with really subpar graphics and not much to do, it's difficult to justify the price range.
Shantae and the Pirate's Curse was a great game on the Game Boy, and its arrival now on the Nintendo Switch makes is worth a try for those of you that missed it.
A solid JRPG experience by FuRyu, The Alliance Alive is a reminder that the Nintendo 3DS still has lots to offer as a platform even after the Nintendo Switch launch. Although the game is very traditional in its mechanics, it's still fun to play with an efficient and rewarding progression system.
