Mitch Jay's Reviews

I’ve been gaming since a very young age and although I can’t remember my very first game, I fondly remember enjoying Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and being giddy with joy once I beat Dr. Robotnik. My all-time favourite game is a tie between Persona 4 Golden and Final Fantasy IX. As you may have noticed, I have a love for JRPG’s although I dabble in all genres. My favourite genres are fighters, visual novels and, of course, JRPG’s. I currently work with Rice Digital, NEO Magazine, Manga UK, Anime Limited, PCGamesN, PlayStation LifeStyle, J-Novel Club and Japan Curiosity. I was previously an Editor at PS4 Attitude. Battles do get a little on the long side sometimes though, which makes it harder to binge hours on at a time, but if you play this with a couple of friends I imagine you can have an incredibly fun time.

Moero Chronicle is an addictive game which revels in its sexual appeal, and its core gameplay mechanics are solid. It's a game that clearly won't be to everyone's liking but there's a lot of fun to be had.

It's a great DLC that offers more of one of NieR: Automata's best aspects.

It's repetitive and will give you a thumb ache, but it's brief and a blast to play. It doesn't call me back to revisit it like Golden Axe and Streets of Rage have done in the past, but it's a great little title for Switch – and the other platforms it's on.

Sushi Striker: The Way of Sushido hasn't released to amazing sales in Japan and it's a shame because it's such an entertaining game. It might seem like a hard swallow at full price and at first glance, but there's an incredible amount of depth and content that you won't regret the buy. I'll be returning to Sushi Striker again because I love its creative wonder, and I think you will too. Try the demo out, at the very least.

.hack//G.U. Last Recode is worth your time, especially as you get four games for the price of one with this collection, and each title is a strong effort. It'll keep you occupied, especially during a period where there aren't many new JRPGs out. For everyone's sake though, we can just refer to this collection as Last Recode rather than .hack//G.U. Last Recode, right?
