For what it's worth, the standalone expansion is a step in the right direction in many ways for a future title and is truthfully a must-have experience for fans of the original.
Where PT stood out from the rest, it was instantly noticeable how important it had come to the gaming community as well as the industry. Where Konami let their fans down, SadSquare Studio came up from a phoenix from the ashes, delivering one of the most amazingly designed horror titles to date that delivers a story that will haunt player s for hears to come.
Ys IX: Monstrum Nox has also raised the bar for future entries, making it so that one could only wonder where the story is now and where it could go in the future. Will traversal be much the same or if there are more evolutions in the pipeline in the works for future titles? We can only hope.
DARQ: Complete Edition will make you play it time and time again, hunting down secret encounters, secret items, and hoping you’ve somehow managed to survive along the way for the best experience yet.
The overall approach works well in Omega Force’s favor, but also, the favor of the fans. From simplified menus to a direct story that stretches into stories with other characters, Samurai Warriors 5 takes a worthwhile note from other projects that Omega Force has worked on in the past, most notably Hyrule Warriors thanks to its focus on character development, overall playability, but also performance.
I’ll continue to say as I did before: Maneater: Truth Quest doesn’t add just a whole lot to the overall experience. It stays true to what it simply is: a lighthearted and somehow over-the-top experience that wants to draw you in for a bit more shark-filled fun. It only adds just enough to be worth the experience, which works out well for the game.
While the game does stumble a bit, it’s a perfect example of why teams such as Eidos-Montréal are some of the best at what they do. Once the credits roll, you’ll find that Guardians of the Galaxy will leave you craving more, which honestly, should come as no surprise due to how well rounded the overall experience actually is. It’s just a shame that we may have to wait for quite a while before getting another title.
Whether you enjoyed Dynasty Warriors 8 when it initially launched or the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One version of Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends, this version has a lot more to offer and it really feels that Koei Tecmo and Omega Force knew that going in with a dedicated Nintendo Switch launch.

Just like any expansion or any MMO, you’re going to want to go into The Elder Scrolls: Elsweyr expecting only the best. Truth is, this is an amazing expansion and its story involving the Necromancers themselves is quite a unique experience, one I’d not really been hoping to have when I first dove straight on in with a Necromancer myself.
Bloober Team has once again delivered, giving us one of the strongest games in the genre, and one that could have very well been the inspiration for an upcoming film. While frame rate hiccups, moments where Bullet’s hard to follow, and story moments that make you scratch your head, Blair Witch is fantastic and easily one of my favorite games within the horror-survival genre.
Code Vein isn’t a genre-defining game by any means. What it is, however, is a blast to play. The story itself is deep, each character gets a well-rounded backstory, making their importance rather-well known compared to previous entries.
Minor issues aside, Plants vs Zombies: Battle for Neighborville takes the safe approach in doing things right. It adds in a few minor classes, tweaks a few gameplay variants to add in a change of pace, and continues on with a comical storyline that fans of all ages can enjoy despite the comic book mischief.
Whether or not you mind redundancy, you might find it to be a minor irritation. Regardless, Fairy Tail is an absolutely solid title. It’s one that stands equally among previous Gust and Koei Tecmo turn-based JRPGs. With smooth graphics, solid voice acting, and a true-to-source story, Fairy Tail will keep you busy and wanting to visit your friends at the guildhall.
Despite its flaws in the art department, Necromunda: The Underhive Wars is an astonishing title that actually goes above and beyond against its competitors.
With double Marauders, Tyrants, and new enemies such as the Spirit, we see a lot of innovation coming, but staying true to what DOOM has offered as a series for over 25 years. If this is what the future continues to look like, DOOM will remain eternal.
When releasing a next-gen variant of a game, it’s always worth taking notes on the areas to improve upon. This can include adding new features such as improved framerates, upgrading visual fidelity, improving upon the gameplay loop, and even adding all-new features to the experience.
When said and done, even with more questions than answers left to be asked, DOOM Eternal: The Ancient Gods – Part 2 does what it set out to do. It gives closure to our current story, allowing for the Doom Slayer’s story, for the time being, to conclude, opening room for the future of the franchise as there is seemingly a lot to be done with the entirety of the doom universe itself.
When it comes to an all-time high for the franchise, Resident Evil Village pushes the boundaries, it attempts to build on well-established tropes the series is known for, and it does it rather well. Well enough that the series could continue on this way, using the first-person perspective to its advantage and continue delivering the jumps and scares the series is known for.
While The Elder Scrolls Online: Blackwood has leaned less on nostalgia than originally thought, its unique additions such as the Companion system, the addition of new public dungeons to experience, Oblivion Gates, and new quest-based puzzles, it’s just enough to get a veteran player back in and enjoying what The Elder Scrolls Online has to offer. For lore junkies, this is a perfect addition as it does a lot to build up to the events of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.
