The Cruel and the Great Hero is a delightful RPG to play for those looking for a relaxing, wholesome story. The game feels more like a small adventure than a large-scale epic like Final Fantasy, but that’s totally fine. Grab your twig and venture forth, soon-to-be-great hero!

Light Fairytale Episode 1 is fun, but it feels more like a tease. This JRPG inspired title has what it takes to become a great game, but it needs more content to prove it. Those who enjoyed classic JRPGs from the ‘90s will want to visit this world. Turn your blade on and prepare for a quick battle.

4 / 5.0 - Voyage
Sep 1, 2022

Voyage is an indie game for all ages that’s worth a trip if you’re looking for casual exploration in a stunningly beautiful 2D world. It’s unfortunate that the title can be finished so quickly and is occasionally tedious, but the journey is still pretty nice while it lasts.

Grim Guardians: Demon Purge is a love letter to the classic Castlevania series that fans can enjoy, even if only for a short time. There’s a lot of potential here, but there needs to be more to make it more memorable. Still, it’s solid entry in the Gal*Gun universe.

4 / 5.0 - Born of Bread
Jan 4, 2024

Born of Bread takes a few ingredients from Paper Mario but has enough seasoning to be its own flavor. Even with the visual glitches, it’s an entertaining title to feast upon, silly puns and all. Now bake up a good time!

My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom! -Pirates of the Disturbance- is a strong extension of the original series. Arzette: The Jewel of Faramore fully grasps the style of the CD-i games with its art, music, and gameplay. There are minor flaws like becoming overpowered against enemies, but it’s worth adventuring for kicks. You can do it, princess!

Disgaea 6 is the best in the series when it comes to its new gameplay features such as easier grinding and quests, as well as its comical script. However, the performance issues on the Nintendo Switch starts to show its age hold it back from becoming the best overall. Still, don’t let that stop you from owning this over-the-top RPG. 3.8 / 5.0 - Rune Factory 5
Apr 4, 2022

Rune Factory 5 takes a big step going all 3D, but it stumbles a bit with framerate issues and uninspiring textures. However, the game’s cast of characters, inclusion of same-sex marriages, and barnful of gameplay value mean players shouldn’t pass this up. The farming life is a decent life, indeed.

Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered is an entertaining game for fans of the franchise. Even though those who have already played the 2009 original won’t see any gameplay or graphical improvements, this is still the best, most authentic Ghostbusters experience by far (outside of living in the corner penthouse of Spook Central).
