The Lord of the Rings: Gollum is a commendable game for Daedalic's effort to tell a totally original story in Middle-earth mixing stealth mechanics and platforming, but it makes water on almost all sides: imprecise controls, terrible AI, insipid narrative, outdated level design and graphics from another generation.

Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince has a deep combat and monster breeding system that can become addictive if you're willing to overlook the very low quality of almost all of its sections: graphics, sound, story, level design, and development. Only recommended for those looking for a serious alternative to Pokémon.

Gargoyles Remastered is a proper remastering of a Sega Genesis classic (unreleased in Europe) that goes beyond the typical Disney Classic by updating graphics and sound... But that's it: the gameplay is as clunky and frustrating as it was in 1995, and with no extras or galleries, the package is very sloppy.

65 / 100 - Park Beyond
Jun 15, 2023

Park Beyond is a good theme park management simulator, deeper than it seems, but with a differentiating factor (impossible fantasy attractions) that does not convince or compensate for the scarcity of roller coaster models available.

65 / 100 - Itadaki Smash
Jul 1, 2022

Itadaki Smash is a modest beat 'em up that pays homage to arcade and is fun, despite its brevity and little variety. It does not bring new playable ideas of its own to the genre, but it does attract attention for the design of its enemies, as if they were Japanese food dishes.

65 / 100 - Rune Factory 5
Mar 22, 2022

‎Rune Factory 5 can be a very lasting and deep entertainment if you overlook its insufficient graphics, made worse by very questionable artistic design decisions. Their country life may not be so idyllic, and the combat system is very basic in nondescript dungeons. It is not translated into Spanish.‎

Samurai Warriors 5 is a competent and conventional musou. Forgetting the experiments of Dynasty Warriors 9, it is business as usual, with some new interesting but not revolutionary actions. It has plenty of characters and weapons to keep you grinding to infinity. The gameplay is simple and repetitive, but you probably already knew that by now.

Star Wars Battlefront: Classic Collection brings back two milestones in Star Wars playable history and it's great to have them available on all consoles. Whether you get a lot of value and fun from them beyond nostalgia and fan service is another matter: the absence of crossplay and flimsy online play limit their long-term potential.

‎Shin chan: My summer with the teacher fulfills its goal of making us feel like children through Shinnosuke's carefree eyes, with the sense of humor of the series, something that fans will love. But its very slow pace and very limited gameplay (it seems like a graphic adventure that almost does not evolve) will not be to everyone's taste.‎

Olyimpic Games Tokyo 2020 - The Official Videogame doesn't have many sports, but has enough gameplay variety to keep you entertained with the multiplayer, smashing buttons in atletism or playing arcade versions of football, basketball or baseball. If you're playing solo, it won't last you long.

70 / 100 - Magic Twins
Mar 18, 2021

Magic Twins is quite an original puzzle game to enjoy in co-op mode with another player (local only), mixing elements from games like Puzzle Bubble or Plants vs. Zombies, in varied levels that balance action and reflexes with strategy. However, the difficulty is often frustrating, specially if you try to play it solo.

71 / 100 - Miitopia
May 28, 2021

A make-up editor for the Mii characters doesn't sound like much, but it makes a huge difference in our perception of Miitopia. Its LIMITLESS possibilities when creating any character reinforce even more the brilliant sense of humor of the game... because the gameplay is way too simple and repetitive to hold your interest for long.

72 / 100 - Mail Mole
Mar 7, 2021

Mail Mole is a 3D platform game that plays a lot like Super Mario 3D World... perhaps too much. Still, it has a good collection of rich levels, and a simple but likeable style. If you want to beat every mark, it is a considerable challenge.

72 / 100 - Ponpu
Dec 3, 2020

Ponpu, a Bomberman spiritual successor, offers solid fun for up to 4 players in local multiplayer. It falls short with its solo campaing, with good boss fights but insipid levels and unreliable controls. Nevertheless, it's a good choice for social gatherings, that also surprises with its daring monochromatic art design.

We Were Here Together is a "escape room" type of videogame, exclusively for two players online. Communication through voice chat is essential to solve the puzzles, but some of them are not very intuitive and the story is weak. If you've got someone to play with (and a bit of patience) you'll have a very unique experience.

No Straight Roads surprises with its insane yet attractive argument, its likeable protagonists and its eccentric bosses, in long and rich combtes. But it's too short, the difficulty is inconsistent and, in general terms, its gameplay is less solid than its presentation. A case of style over substance, even if it's worth it just for the music alone.

Koa and the Five Pirates of Mara is an opportunity to revisit the world of Summer in Mara but now as a 3D platform game very "nintendero" and without many innovations, but varied and entertaining and with a control system, already seen in Mail Mole, designed with speedruns in mind. You will enjoy them more if you played Summer in Mara.

Alfred Hitchcock Vertigo may get a ball at first, but if you persevere in the most tedious the story will end up catching you. It's a reimagining of the 1958 classic, with all-new characters and plots. His connection to Hitchcock is sometimes caught by the hair, but he has a personality of his own and a story that deserves to be told.

Ghost Trick: Ghost Detective receives a somewhat poor remaster on Switch, PS4, Xbox, and PC, but enough to rediscover an almost forgotten gem from the creator of Ace Attorney. His way of presenting and solving the puzzles is unique in its kind, and the story is exciting and unforgettable. Long live Sissel!

‎Jurassic World Evolution 2 is bigger and better in every way, even if it looks more like a definitive edition than a sequel. Their campaign doesn't take advantage of the premise of containing wild dinosaurs, and you'll spend most of your time in Nublar and Sorna. But perfect the gameplay with a huge amount of content and that's more than enough.‎
